Placed my order on the phone prompting the buttons to the location at 3201 Mew Mexico. I confirmed over the phone that was the correct location. The cashiers at the front said they didn’t have my order and sometimes the automated machine directs you to the wrong location sometimes. Without them offering to remake my order, I asked if they could make it. They directed me down at the end so I could reorder my salad. I tried to order it and the cashier couldn’t understand what I was saying. I’m guessing she couldn’t understand too much English. So I left frustrated and hungry without lunch for my lunch break.

Can the blonde girl at the counter be nicer? She's always in a terrible mood or maybe is my skin color?

Got a turkey panini and could not finish half the sandwich. Truly the worst sandwich I've ever had. No pesto on it as advertised, and the turkey was dry and tasted what I can only describe as old. I don't know what else they did to this sandwich but the flavor was awful and it was a really mushy texture. Had chili with it which was mediocre at best. Couldn't finish either, threw them in the trash. For this half a sandwich and 8 oz of chili that was actually inedible, I paid $20.Asked two employees what was in the empanadas, as I've got a couple food allergies. They gave me weird looks and it was like pulling teeth getting an answer out of them. There was one employee, Adam, who was helpful and engaging.Horrible food. I've felt ill since I ate it. Do not go here.

I ordered an egg white omelette with cheese on a bagel. It cost $10 and the omelette was one of the worst I’ve had in quite a while. The bagel was admittedly, quite good.

Here’s the tea— I love that we have a deli like this in our neighborhood, especially that there are groceries and coffee, outdoor seating and a community bulletin board. Here’s where there’s room for improvement: they need to make their products more affordable. Consider that there are college students close-by at AU, and everyone could use more affordable groceries right now.Another thing is environmental impact- the company uses way too much plastic and disposable goods. We really need to cut back on plastics. The plastic tupperware leeches microplastics into people’s soups. That is toxic to the body. Some things to think about.

Purchased 3 mini cakes for family we were visiting, as well as an eclare. Not one of the cakes was good. Icing tasted off, and cakes were dry and very disappointing.

Big selection of items to order, including pastries and desserts and a small grocery shop. A little pricey but good. Tables outside to sit and eat in the nice weather.

Ordered Thanksgiving dinner in advance. They ran out of Turkey, day before Thanksgiving. How is that even possible?

Ordered thanksgiving meal including Turkey about a month ago. Was told it was ready for pick up last night only to get there and after standing in a long line to be told that someone “stole” our Turkey to give to another customer. Also they didn’t have our Turkey gravy that we ordered either. Absolutely outrageous service. So so disappointing. After some back and forth they said they would deliver a new Turkey to us last night. We were not sure it would actually happen until we got our delivery late last night. Never going back there again!

They gave away our thanksgiving turkey to another customer and are now refusing to answer their phone. They were extremely rude about the ordeal and kept insisting they were offering a better product as a replacement.

I love this deli! The staff is all super welcoming and helpful. I’ve gotten two different sandwiches at the deli and both have been great.

Asked about BBQ and was told it was pulled and hickory smoked. It was neiither--chopped (large pieces, not done in BBQ land) and just a cooked pork shoulder, smothered in BBQ sauce. This was the WORST BBQ sandwich I have had in DC. This is an important feedback comment because Wagshal's has a rather large BBQ menu. I hope other dishes are better but they could not be if meat is not hickory smoked. Sauce was just so so. I hope other Wagshal's sandwiches are better.

I generally love Wagshal’s, but today the hot pastrami sandwich was very salty. I ate half and could not continue because of the salt content. I’ve had this sandwich before and do not recall this level of saltiness. Did the distributor change? Also ordered the pound cake, and it is yummy!!

Came here to grab some gelato for 2 staff members and myself and as soon as the "manager" came over he looks at the server and lightly whispers to the server who was scooping out the gelato and said "it's only 2 scoops for a small". Ok.... So here the guy who was scooping the gelato has ALWAYS been on top of his customer service whenever I go and order food from wagshals. I love all the other staff too super super awesome people but not the manager with the long hair and mustache ( didn't catch his name ). 1. The gelato wasn't even set it was super watery and I asked for the gelato to be put in a cup and a cone on top. We go up to pay.. the manager who whispers in the servers ears checks us out. He says $7.50.. I said for a small? He goes for a small plus the cone. Mind you a small gelato is $4.00.. so you're telling me your charging me $3.50 for a cone??? The manager goes "well didn't Julio tell you it was extra.. I heard him tell you that" ( with an attitude ).. I responded "uhmmm actually no he did not sir but charge me anyways for it" I wasn't going to argue with someone like him. Anyways, long story short the manager says we'll if that's not what he said then it's $17 for all 3 .. they were small watery gelatos.. lastly he was rude AF! Don't get go here and get gelato. I won't be going back there on lunch break anymore.. I'll take my money elsewhere. I'll be posting on our lunch room for my employees to dodge wagshals for lunch too. I'm an administrator and I don't even talk to people like that. I don't even write nasty reviews but this one needed it.
