Food was average, but prices were great. Wait staff was overwhelmed, as usual today with the hiring issues

My family and I stumbled upon this restaurant during our trip home from visiting family. The service was wonderful and the food was fresh and delicious. The atmosphere was warm and inviting with really neat decor. Even the staff was entertaining our 1 1/2 year old while we waited for our food to keep the peace. We will definitely add Blue Water Grill as a pit-stop along our travels in the future!

I don't think this place would rate more than four stars but it certainly doesn't rate less than three stars either. Sometimes it's hit or miss. Service was good in the meal was good this evening but I just don't feel like it earn more than three stars.

My sister and I happened to be passing thru downtown millsboro at dinner and decided to try blue water grill and I am glad we did. The decor is simple yet had a quaintness about it. Definitely gave you a small town vibe but their menu said otherwise. There was a great selection of draft beer and daily specials. We tried the chicken satay appetizer of the day. Good portions for both of us. The daily special was blackened shrimp alfredo which we split. Plenty for both of us and also very good. We each got salads both of which we enjoyed. And they had homemade desserts, of which we had to try the peanut butter pie. Also delicious.I'll definitely be going back.

We easily made reservations, were greeted warmly by the waitress for our group, and she was excellent. She allowed us to laugh it up while she casually did drinks, appetizers, etc very gracefully. We will definitely be going back again!

We were heading home from seeing family in Baltimore and we remembered we received a gift card for Blue water grill. When we called they recommended folks should make reservations but they would do their best to get us in, we arrived and they seated us right away we even asked for a booth and they accommodated us. I guess the point is they bent over backwards to take care of us.My wife ordered the prime rib special with lobster ravioli which she could not stop raving about. I ordered the plank salmon with lemon caper sauce and risotto, it was fantastic. Both were on the specials list so we can't really speak for the main menu but it has to be just as good. Almost forgot our grandson ordered the grill cheese and fries from the kids menu which he also liked. One side note, it was nice to see a variety of options for kids other than just hot dogs and dry chicken fingers. All in all a super nice "last minute meal" Bret our server was very attentive but not overly invasive.Jessica the host answered our 10 questions with a smile and made sure we were comfortably seated. We will be back!

Was a bit concerned after a few reviews, decided to try anyway.. VERY HAPPY we did!!! Went for an early dinner, 5 peeps total.. Had apps, crab dip and jalapeno poppers both very good.. The poppers are new on the menu and they checked to see how they were, very pleased... 5 entrees,, Flat bread pulled pork pizza (very good), Chicken Marsala( very good), Spinach salad topped with salmon (very good), Ultimate chicken sandwich (HUGE and very good) and Fried Oysters which were awesome!! Sweet potato fries were delicious perfectly done!! The service was excellent and attentive!! I found the place pretty clean in all.. Bathrooms were clean.. It's in an old building so expect that.. Nice decor.. Just go try it and see for yourself!!!

Went to restaurant before it was good. This time a roach ran across the table. Food was over cooked my potato was cold. I should have left after the roach experience. Won't go back.¹

Went to restaurant before food was good. To start off the night a roach ran across the table. I don't know why we stayed. My wife ordered a shrimp and salmon over pasta. It was over cooked and dry. I order the duck breast it was good but the baked potato was cold. The experience was terrible. Won't go back.

It made me sad, we have been coming and celebrating our Anniversary for the last 12 years. Sorry to say this will be the last. The menu was very small none of our favorites are left on the menu. The portions are small and the prices have gone up. My husband's sides to his meal were cold.

I'm heart broken to post this. I've been visiting this restaurant a few times a year for the last decade and tonight was a huge disappointment.First, I want to say that the young lady who served us was a delight and did a phenomenal job.The menu was lacking their usual selections, and finding something between appetizers and entrée was a challenge. I got the sword fish special and the filet was tiny, the server agree and took it back to the kitchen. Only to return and state that she weighted it herself and it was their standard 7 oz. I don't carry a scale but, I eat out a lot and it was the smallest serving I have every had. Not to sound like a winer but by this tim I have loved this place,, taken family and friends to see the gem I found in Millsboro. I may try them in the future to see if they return to their former glory but,, for now, I would not refer them to a friend. e my sweet potato mash was ice cold.

Absolutely awful. Even worse management! If you have an issue, don’t expect to be heard or taken care of. But you can expect to be argued with! The owner, Jess, is definitely in the wrong business.Edit: My response to the owner, I know you’ve been waiting for this review to defend your honor! I stand by what I said, you are in the wrong business. Also, YOU offered a full refund.. I have yet to receive. It was never about compensation, which I was clear about in the first phone call. Now, I just want everyone to know how horrendous your customer service and business is. You seem to be proving that on your own. Best of luck!

Stopped this past Sunday on the way back to PA from the OBX. Never been here before, my wife picked in on a whim from "restaurants near me" while driving through the area. I didn't really expect much, but was very pleasantly surprised. My wife and 2 kids had the Blue Water pasta and I had the blackened trout w/ mac & cheese and green beans. I thought my meal was one of the best all-around meals I've had out in a while. We all tried each others food and agreed our main dishes were excellent. The blackened trout was very well seasoned and it didn't overpower the fish. Also, my sides were surprisingly excellent as well. Would definitely stop back again if we were in the area. I'd also like to state that Richard our server was also very helpful and attentive.

Amazing service and amazing food. Highly recommend the fried oysters and coconut shrimp, the blue water burger and the shrimp burger are excellent too. Huge shout out to Richard who took care of us this evening, we couldn’t have asked for better attention or friendlier service.
