Our family has been getting our cakes from here for the last few years, but our most recent experience will most likely be our last.I ordered a half sheet cake for my daughter's first birthday on March 13th for a March 30th pick up and paid in full at the time I placed the order. Fast forward to March 30th, and when I arrive to pick up my cake, the bakery cannot find my order. They couldn't even find the order slip that was filled out by the young lady at the counter the day I ordered it. Based on the timestamps of my texts to my spouse, whom I was updating on the situation, it took them about 20-25 minutes from the time they realized that they couldn't find it to get who I assume was some type of manager involved, and they offered to make a cake for me on the spot after I showed them the bank transaction for $60 (full price for half sheet cake). I let them know I needed to leave in 15 minutes max because I was going to be late to my daughter's party. They make the cake and bring it out and its a quarter sheet instead of the half sheet cake I paid in full for. At that point, I needed to leave right then and had already been there about 40 minutes, so I gave the young lady who gave me the cake my contact information and was advised I would receive a call on that Monday regarding the issues with my order.Monday rolls around, no call. I e-mail the bakery and was advised I needed to call. Called on Tuesday, was advised that somebody would give me a call back on Wednesday. No call back on Wednesday. I call on Thursday (today) and finally got through to the person I was supposed to and was advised that they would only be giving me a refund on the price difference between the quarter and half sheet, and not the full refund that I requested, because I technically walked out with a cake. I explained that they lost my original order, made me wait, gave me the wrong size, made me late to my daughter's birthday party, and because the size was a quarter sheet, instead of a half sheet, we didn't have enough cake to feed our guests. I was advised that the lead baker "checked the tapes" and I wasn't there as long as I stated I was. Nothing was even acknowledged regarding the mess up on their end with the original order and the remake.At this time, I am waiting on yet another call back as to whether they are going to give me the full refund that I again asked for. We have used this bakery for my kids' birthday cakes for the last four years, but unfortunately, this will most likely be our last time due to the poor customer service.UPDATE - Only received a refund of half of what I paid (Paid $60 total in advance). Disappointed in the customer service and lack of accountability from ownership. Still haven't heard back from the bakery regarding the issue aside from the response left below from ownership.

Old fashioned bakery, lots of very tasty sweets and cakes. Cakes can be done up for special occasions and are spectacular whit your choices of cake, fillings and decorations. The custom cake design was well executed, however the red velvet cake was poor. We threw most of the cake away as it just was not up to bings normal cakes.

We only go to Bing’s for all of our cakes. Our most recent order was a strawberry pound cake. It was absolutely delicious. Always a friendly face and family atmosphere. Bing’s has been a part of all of our special events and we wouldn’t go anywhere else. Highly recommend!

I was truly disappointed in my experience at the bakery. I have driven by many times and wanted to stop in and today I finally had the time. When I walked in I was greeted but that is where it ended. I stood at the cupcake case while 5 employees stood around. The only person working was helping with a cake. Everyone else was busy chatting and stacking cookies. I was there 5 minutes just waiting for someone. I gave up and left. Only then did someone say hello after I was on the way out. The employees were trying hard not to make eye contact. I really wanted to try the bakery and bring home treats to the family, all while supporting a local business but with that experience I will never go again. Customer service should always take precedence over stacking cookies and making boxes. It’s a shame - my money will go elsewhere. Based on the other reviews with similar comments, I’m not alone. Do better!

I love this bakery and absolutely hate that I feel the need to leave a less that great review, but I was late to my own birthday party because of a mistake that was not my own. We called and placed an order for this cake 6 days ago. All they said on the phone was that it would be $52 and it would be ready today at 1pm. I tried calling this morning to make sure everything was in order but nobody answered the 2 times I called. They were busy, thats fine. But I get there and I'm told the cake was never made because orders over $50 need a down payment, so the order was simply under "pending". Why was I not told this on the phone? Why did nobody think to call the phone number I left in the SIX DAYS between then and now to tell me I needed to make a payment? Regardless, I grin and bared it and payed for the cake and was told it would take 25 mins to make. I left and called them about 40 minutes later to check on the progress. The girl on the phone said it was pretty much ready and I could come at any time to get it. I got there in 3 minutes. When I walked in, a boy went to go get my cake, came back in a few minutes to ask if my cake was supposed to have writing. Was it not asked over the phone 6 days ago? I just said no because I was already running late. It then took another 10 minutes to come out to me, because it wasn't actually ready, they needed to put all the strawberries on it still. Regardless, I paid full price and left a tip, because I'm a big softey. I just don't want this to happen to anyone else. UPDATE: they wrote on the cake anyway and spelled my name wrong :(( had to take pics with it backwards
Our typical go-to for a birthday cake when my wife doesn't make homemade, and they are excellent! And their Bunker Hills, which unfortunately only are offered 1-2 times a year, are to die for! When they announce they are going to have them, which they always do a couple of weeks prior, I'm sure to order a couple of dozen.
