Food , cocktail and service was good. It was our first time there. My husband and I have date nights once a week and we try to go to different restaurants to see which is the best. The Chilean sea bass was really good. We also liked their fried calamari but the only thing is they put the sauce under the calamari so it was a little soggy . Next time I'll ask for the sauce on the side. ?

It was my birthday night, and I wanted some seafood with the family. I was not disappointed!! The menu had great selections that I would definitely come back and try. Drinks were perfect, with the perfect amount of alcohol and perfect balance of flavor. My only disappointment was my appetizer of the bacon wrapped shrimp. They seemed overcooked and a little on the small size.... other than that. Our server was awesome and very friendly. The food was delicious, and we will definitely make a return.

I have (had?) a favorite restaurant in #newarkde but after last night… we’ve had three awesome meals at The Blue Crab Grill, and every time it’s been crowded. Last night I brought my mom. She wondered if her crab cake had crab waved over it because that was as close as any crab meat got to the recipe. My husband ordered jalapeño stuffed with crab. You expect a certain flavor profile from that dish—a little spice, a little crab, a little creamy, maybe a little vinegar if the pepper was pickled. It was a flavor black hole. Cardboard would have tasted better. And the crab stuffing resembled baby food. A good quality baby food would have tasted better. I ordered the lobster and shrimp wedge salad. OMG. It has been said that lobster and shrimp are like alien creatures. I now have proof that aliens are among us and someone is substituting them for lobster and shrimp. Whatever was in that salad last night was not of this earth. I can’t say how disappointed I was last night. In their defense, because though this review is scathing, I am not an evil person, the other meals we ate there over the last few months were delicious and their shrimp and grits were the best I’ve ever had. I have recommended this restaurant to friends. I don’t know if it was just a bad night or a change of chef or something else, but I left angry last night that we paid what we paid for a sub-standard meal.

My favorite part of Blue Carb Grill was Brittany! She was the best waitress I've ever had. Personable, efficient, funny, and kind! She deserves to be noticed for her amazing customer service!!! The food was good. I ordered the steamed shrimp (10/10) as well as raw oysters (6/10) as an app and then the seared acallops (7/10) for my entree. My friend ordered the crab bisque which she enjoyed as well as the special, the stuffed lobster tail, which she rated (7/10). The portion sizes are definitely on the smaller side, but that's not always a bad thing! Flavor was good, restaurant appeared clean and well kept, and I really like the open kitchen vibe! I'd definitely return!

We were disappointed but other items proved more than ample. The food was very good, our server very attentive, etc. Shelley Kelley band was playing. We certainly enjoyed their music and would go again when we hear they're playing there. All in all a very enjoyable afternoon.

Mussels fra diavolo - absolutely phenomenal sauce, ate all the dipping french bread, too. As others noted, the crab nachos had very little crab and what was there was like crab imperial, just all mayonaise. We also got the bottom of the nacho bag, mostly crumbs...training opportunity for the kitchen. Nice tap beer list, good craft beers in bottles. Servers were great. Prices were reasonable. 3.5-3.75 overall.
