Love this place. Been coming here for years. Makes a great ride too if you have a bike.

Looks like a dive bar. Clientele appears all local. We came on a Wednesday night where they have the steamed shrimp special. Place was packed. People filed in quickly ate and left knowing exactly what they were doing. Our server Nancy who is a nurse by profession during the day has been working there for 46 years! She has super powers! As we were trying to figure out the place she just appeared! Our drinks and orders came quickly. Beer on tap was chilled perfectly in a frosted mug and tasted fresh. The shrimp was fantastic the mahi bites tender and the Lima bean soup full of flavor. We even were lucky enough to get soft shelled crab. The strategic mistake we made was not to inquire about fresh oysters first as we were distracted by the shrimp special. We were already full by the time we found out. Next time! We didn’t even look at the menu.

That night it was very noisy, hard to talk to the person across the table. I've been multiple times and this had to do with the crowd that was there that night. Food and service were excellent.

Amazing little bar resturant! Came in on a Wednesday night, during their shrimp deal, and was pleasantly greeted by staff & customers at the bar. The food was to die for and cooked extremely well. I had the shrimp deal (12 for 8$) and my friend had the fried shrimp platter. Both were excellent.Wonderful first time experience and will be back soon!

It's a historical landmark that's been around for more than 6 decades (maybe longer) so the ambiance is nothing short of a local dive bar. It's perfect! Only one staff serving the bar and the tables in the tavern but she was swift (Mare was her name) and friendly. Picking crabs is an art form and takes time and they are prepared to each order. Use it to enjoy your party because you will be there at least 2 hours. The beers were cold and served in chilled mugs. Crabs juicy, tender and sweet. $80 bucks a dozen. Seasoned deliciously. Fries and clams the filler. Love Kellys Tavern. Fun, friendly and you will find all types of people.Wheelchair accessibility: No wheelchair access

Stopped in on a Saturday morning passing through Delaware on our way to NJ. This is a simple tavern, not a tourist trap or prettied-up instagram destination. The beer is cold. The crabs were fresh, meaty, and amazing - thankfully, the bartender taught us how to crack em open and get all the meat. The fried grouper bites were crunchy and good.If we're ever in Delaware again, we'll go back.

Though I would like to keep this off the beaten path local gem a secret, the crabs are too good not to share. Old school; low key, wood paneling, classic bar, pitchers of beer, brown paper covered tables with a roll of paper towels, mallets, a shaker full of Old Bay, and a bucket for the emptied shells. It doesn't get much better when you're looking for great crabs. They only serve #1s and at market price. They come out on a tray, they're coated in Old Bay and steaming hot, and come with optional melted butter and/or a vinegary crab sauce though they don't need a drop of either they're so flavorful and sweet. Our server was very kind and seemed to know all the locals, and she told us the nearby location the crabs were from. Be aware that you can't put tip on a credit card and they no longer have an ATM. If you go, you shouldn't expect fluff, frills, or fuss, but you can count on the best crabs you can find based on our experiences. We ordered 1 1/2 dozen crabs, a basket of fries, 3 pitchers of beer, two water bottles, 2 single beers - one draft and one bottle, and our total bill was $190 ($100/dozen for crabs). Also be aware that they have crabs Thursday through Sunday, and you can call to reserve the the # of crabs you want. We learned the hard way last year that they can sell out quickly based on reservations. I almost forgot to mention they bring out ice cold frosty beer mugs! Cheers!
