The menu, which is limited, looked good with a section of standards that do not change and, another with more seasonal offerings. We had a nice Burgundy wine that was a fair value, a Caesar which was pretty good and deviled eggs which were unremarkable and a bit salty. My wife had the salmon which was lovely, cooked just right and served with lentils and I had the Chicken Cordon Blue which was stacked on top of mashed potatoes and carrots and green beans. I'm not much for a pile of food like that and the chicken was “good” but not more. Our server and the ambience great although it got a bit loud. We don't mind paying for great food but this was overpriced for the food. We probably won't go back but haven't closed the door.

Food was great, complicated with many layers of flavor.I am gluten free and waiter was so attentive and brought me a personal gluten free bread. My drink was very refreshing - something with pomegranate.Pretty good distance between people and tables have a white tablecloths, love restaurants with tablecloths. From outside I would never guess that it is so great inside.Dietary restrictions: Good variety for gluten free.

Our first time and we'll be back—small, charming (feels like a French bistro, loved the stained glass bar and tin ceiling), friendly service, classic delicious food. Shared escargots, trout, and Coquilles St. Jacques, all great (and butter sauces on the lighter side which we liked). A really nice change from the usual seafood places here. Thanks for a wonderful meal and evening.

This was truly the best meal we have had in a restaurant in the past year! We shared a wonderful cheese and charcuterie plate to start. I had the duck and I've truly never had it prepared any better. My husband had the seafood gnocchi and it was excellent as well. The wine list was truly representational of the best of France at very reasonable prices (we travel there extensively and rarely find a restaurant with a good representation and reasonable prices). Best of all, our server, Jodie, was a gem. She lived in France for several years so we were able to have a great conversation with her about favorite places, foods, and wines. She was very knowledgeable and attentive. We will definitely return to La Fable!

The service was amazing! I indicated my girlfriend and would be celebrating our two year anniversary, so they made us a card and set it out in our table. They also brought out champagne for us to celebrate. As for the food, it was very good. It was well worth every dollar! I has the Gnocchi and my girlfriend had the Cordon Bleu. Overall, this was a very good restaurant, and the atmosphere was very romantic!

My husband and I come here A LOT and even when it's so busy, like this dining experience, everything was still exceptional. I especially appreciated the other services staff who knew us, check on us since our primary server was also very busy. Always outstanding. Best advice for anyone dining here ... la Fable and staff are so amazing, but it can get very busy... be patient and always be polite. They always will / want to give 110% service.

La Fable is the most authentic, French Restaurant in Delaware, if not the East Coast. Outstanding menu, outstanding preparation, outstanding service, outstanding ambiance. Treat yourself and your special someone to the a first class Parisian restaurant experience.

Our first time here. Wonderful hospitality and service from start to finish. Meals perfectly prepared and delicious. I had the steak frites and my wife had the beef bourguignon. We will certainly be back.

Repeat customers. Best French cuisine on the beach. Our server was knowledgeable, pleasant and efficient. Food was delicious. The restaurant is in a small space. Tables are close together and noise level can become uncomfortable.

It was truly a 5 star experience ...only because there weren't 6 or 7 or 10 .... My wife had an unbelievable Birthday celebration from beginning to end ... Everything was superb !!! Even the entire Bistro sang her a Happy Birthday ....

My wife and I dined at La Fable for my birthday. Everything was wonderful. I had the seafood crepe, and my wife had the trout; both were delicious. I can also recommend the Chambord cake, which we shared. La Fable is one of our favorite Lewes/Rehoboth Beach restaurants.

La Fable has been our go to place for celebrating special occasions, and our 44th anniversary was no exception! We immediately felt welcomed, were offered a complimentary glass of Champagne, and found a nice card on the table signed by the whole staff. Our server, Jodi, provided us with impeccable service, the escargot was as good as it gets- and the duck was to die for! All in all, another memorable evening at La Fable!

The atmosphere (ambiance) was intimate and warm and more old world European than anything else. The service was friendly, kind actually, the meals came at the correct temperature and the items on the menu and specials (crab soup) were explained where needed and were absolutely delicious. House salad and deviled eggs Mimosa, chicken cordon blu and cocquille st Jacques (scallops in mushroom cream sauce) were out of this world. Cocktails were varied and well balanced, French Chardonnay was gorgeous and appropriately cool and chamboard cake for dessert was a divine ending for a dream of a meal and an experience that must be repeated.

Step down into this small, intimate spot with a definite Parisian ambiance. Outstanding food and a perfect spot for a special evening with tables in the front corner the coziest (and perhaps quietest) for a romantic dinner. Excellent, professional waitstaff.
