The food is good, but the service is hit or miss. I definitely recommend you try it if you aren't in a hurry. They also have a great deal that runs on Groupon.

This was our first time at Kyoto Japanese Restaurant. The sushi was terrific and service was very attentive and prompt. We had the vegetarian spring rolls, then both the Kyoto roll and Exception roll. All were beautifully prepared by the sushi chef. They also have a bar which is a nice plus. I got a Zombie which was tasty and potent! The restaurant atmosphere and decor is very pleasant and mellow. We definitely will be back!

if you use the groupon read the fine print. my groupon didn't apply to the lunch that I ordered. pretty annoying but my fault not theirs. philly roll had very little cream cheese but it was good the way it was made. I normally prefer indian or west indian curry and the curry here reminds me why. wasn't much sauce just didn't love it. overall this place is cozy and chill. I don't go as much as I used to but this visit went as expected. my food was mostly good and it was not spectacularly priced but I didn't have a disappointing experience. Also the sushi chef was sneezing a lot. I did see him wash his hands after a sneeze so thank you for that sir.

I got the NY Strip Steak Carpaccio and it was delicious and full of flavor. The shrimp tempura was also great. Definitely recommend and will be back.

I made reservations in advance with a special request for uni and live scallops... Spot on delivery and preparation of the special dishes! And the sushi rolls were fab too!

I bought 2 Groupon and I bought too many. The service was great and the environment was chill and clean. The food was just okay. I'm going to use the other Groupon and try completely different things but not impressed at all. I tried the appetizer seafood eggplant (good), chicken fried rice (flavorless but edible they really could have done better), and sushi (duck roll-dont do it & volcano roll?-it was green sauce with green something-not good at all). Again, I'll try again to use up the Groupon and I'll revise if it happens to be amazing but I'm not going to hold my breath. I would still say try it. I like flavor (not to be confused with salt or sugar).

Honestly the best part about pike creek! Fresh sushi, delicious small/large plates with a great atmosphere!! You can dine in or do take out, either way you won’t be disappointed!!! STOP dining at chain restaurants and support this small local business! You will not be disappointed! They are INCREDIBLE!

I have always loved eating at this restaurant and will continue to go here. Sure it's small, but the food is absolutely delicious, and the sushi is very good. (For an amazing price too) Compared to the all you can eat sushi nearby, the overall comfort of Kyoto is unmatched. The one sushi chef that is there (who I believe is the owner) is always pumping out orders (mostly to-go ones) and so maybe that's why other reviews call him rude. He's busy, and I've never had a bad experience here. The restaurant ambiance is very relaxed. Give this place a go if you want a quieter, higher quality experience, and don't be pulled in but nearby all you can eat. Less is more! It's an aging restaurant for sure, (not many people or staff, and some items on the menu are better than others) but it's still an incredible hole in the wall.

Kyoto has been my favorite sushi restaurant for a while now. I was disappointed with the quality of a couple of sushi rolls that I ordered all the time. I don't know if it was an off night, but I will give them another shot.

Sushi Xtreme was closed (on a Monday) so we attempted this place ... again. Food is very much unremarkable. We got 2 hibachi meals. One teriyaki chicken and one with shrimp. It is not typical vegetables that you expect. It's like an Asian cole slaw but not bad! The rice was fine. The salad was just lettuce with a slice of cucumber... and it wasn't typical "yum yum"' dressing if that's what you're expecting. It looked like soy sauce. My shrimp still had all the tails on and were overcooked. Chicken was bland. The spicy tuna roll was barely wrapped, soggy, and uneventful. I've ordered over $70 of sushi from here before and it was not good... we only ordered here again tonight because Sushi Xtreme was closed & figured we'd try the hibachi. Also

I don't really have any complaints about their food if you really into Japanese. Unfortunately we got greeted very unprofessional. We asked if we can get some ice for my own ginger ale because fountain ginger ale I don't like and it was completely denied. Beside when we asked for coffee he reapplied does it look like they were a coffee shop in which that was really not nice at all. We were celebrating my husband birthday. We were invited there and it was nice we all had a Groupon coupon. Pretty much we got a lot of food for what we really paid but first impressions count and it was our my first time and our last time as well.
