This was our first time here.. we ordered at 5:09 p.m didn't get our food till 6: 00 when they told us 20 mins.. the fish was fried hard and dry after we asked not to fry it so hard the yams were horrible all you tasted was nutmeg and cinnamon they no juice.. also the chicken had no flover the Mac and cheese was the worst no flavor just a bunch of clumpy cheese let's not talk about the salty green beans thar almost bust my chest to much salt.. my kids said this is the worst food ever..

Very disappointed. I had a taste of one of there platters the night before and the food was very good. Went to work and told a few coworkers how good i thought the food was so we decided to order. According to the website it opened at 12. No one answered phone until 12:45 and at that point I was told that they were not taking orders until 1:15 pm. We were willing to wait. When I called back at 1:12, I was told that they are not taking ordereds until 1:45 pm. Not good business. The food is good and it is a shame that they don't have good business ethics. I will not be recommeding them because of that.

Food is seasoned to perfection, I prefer the string beans over the greens. Mac is incredibly cheesy and super flavorful! The Chicken is always fried perfectly never have to ask them to fry it hard. Absolutely one of the best soul food spots in Wilmington!

This place is horrible. There hours are false. They are never open. The website is a lie. You’ll be calling forever they will ignore your calls. Instead of answering and not wasting peoples time & telling us yall website is a lie these are not yall hours yall open when yall want or when yall need some quick money. People really need to start reporting this place they are just money hungry and the business here is horrible. They say they open all week & some days…. They are not. Don’t waste your time. Got the fish and shrimp with Mac and yams platter 8 wings and the seafood salad and all I gotta say is everything was super good like go back 2 times a day good oh yea and that blue raspberry lemonade was amazing I will def be back tomorrow

Today would be my 3rd time at this establishment. Both times food was great. This 3rd time I don’t know what happen , but the food was very salty. The garlic parmesan wings I’m not a fan of. The garlic over powers the actual flavor and it was very salty. The fish my husband order has been the same.

I must admit I was skeptical because of the reviews I read, but I have learned you have to use your own judgement. This food is tasty! I ordered the fried whiting, Mac and cheese, collard greens and a side of yams. Food is VERY nicely seasoned and not all salty. Portions are husky and not stingy like the soul food restaurant on 8th and Shipley.....? ONLY thing I didn't love was the amount of cinnamon used in these candy yams. It's a bit much. But overall very tasty. Give em a try!
