Get a cake from here every year and its always good. Strawberry shortcake is probably my favorite one. The staff is always very pleasant and so is the owner. He is a cutie himself! This is the only bakery i recommend friends/coworkers/family to go to.

My favorite for just stopping by are any of the pound cake slices. I often pick up a personal pan cheesecake for unsuspecting friends.My mother used to make German chocolate cake for my birthday. I had been reminiscing for a few months and finally ordered one from Sweet Something’s… .Please don’t hate me for what I did (see pic) The cake was delicious! Perfect balance of ingredients. Other than the first legitimate slice, I ate the cake with a spoon as if it was a bread bowl.Thank- you for a wonderful cake!

Horrible cakes and horrible owner as well. The owner a white old man is very mean and nasty over the phone. He ruined my whole cake and the requests and when I called and told him about it he says goodbye and hangs up the phone. I paid almost $200 for a nasty cake that was way to much icing and tasted so old and yucky. ?????????????I'll never come here ever again.

If you need a cake on short notice, DON”T even bother with this place. Unless you order in advance, they only have available about 3 mystery cakes in their display and of course they are the most expensive sizes. So If you need a cake for under six people, you will need to buy a cake that will feed more like 20 since they only have their largest sizes available for same day cakes. In addition, even if you call in the day before the decorations go on the cake to request something simple, such as holding the sprinkles, they will not work with you. I myself do not care for services that are not flexible when I am spending my money. As far as the service goes, I was excited last year when this bakery went to a more diverse atmosphere. I believe that I even posted a review about it . Thats why I was so shocked when this same person walked away while I was literally asking her about what my possible options were for a cake for the next day. After telling me that there were none and that I can come back when the owner comes in, she just walked away and proceeded to go to the back of the store, while leaving me standing there at the counter. One of the other workers saw how baffled that I was and offered to assist me. Although she also explained that there were very strict limitations, she was still way more helpful and polite than the other girl. Nonetheless, I did go back the next day and picked up whatever they had available in the display case and I must add that this place seems to be getting more and more arrogant each time I come . As far as the cake is concerned, honestly, Ive gotten better looking and tasting cakes at the Acme bakery on 202 in Wilmington. The cakes in the display of Sweet Somethings Desserts are flavors that no one would probably order for a birthday cake or ones that they may not sell as much of such as white chocolate with a raspberry filling. Oh and just a little buyer beware disclaimer, The cakes that they have readily available in the display are made with the cheapest ingredients such as a ton of mousse in the middle instead of sweet rich buttercream, which is what most people traditionally want in a birthday cake. Since the cake that I bought from “Sweet Something Desserts” was nothing special, I ended up getting an ice cream cake from “Sweet Lucy‘s “to compensate, which is not too far from them and I was pleasantly surprised! Sweet Something’s Desserts are not the only act in town. Their cakes NOR their customer service are what it used to be, in fact they are starting to reek with dry sarcasm and rudeness. I buy cakes for all of my family members and friends all year around but this place will not be seeing me anymore. Ive included a picture of the inside of the cake. The chocolate is the tasteless mousse while the white is all the buttercream you get in the cakes from the display case and note there is absolutely no buttercream on the top so if you like buttercream instead of mousse, make sure you ask before buying because you might just have to go somewhere else. In addition, those cakes are straight from the freezer, thawed, and then decorated and so they taste freezer burnt 2 days after cutting it.

We were so excited we ordered 3 pies for Thanksgiving. The pumpkin pie the crust was not fully cooked. The apple looked so good we could not wait but again crust was not cooked and apples were hard. The coconut custard pie I think must of been old cause when we went to cut it the sides of the crust fell off the pie. We had already planned what we were ordering for Christmas but we definitely changed our minds about ordering from there. Very disappointed and it wasn't cheap!!!
