Great location, friendly staff and clean rooms. I was a little nervous when I saw this was the hotel my group was booking at, you can tell from the photos it is a little outdated. But in the end was a better stay than I had expected. First the bad. The room decor is bright and furniture is old. If you are uncomfortable with stains on furniture this might not be the place for you. I did have a small issue with the smell by the bathroom, and the wet floor that caused it, but I was only in for one night so it was easy to work around. A few of the lamp plugs did not work, a lot of them really, which caused me to think the blow dryer didn’t work. I called the front desk and replacement was brought up right away. I then realized it was just most of the outlets that were faulty. Now the good…. everything was very clean, the amenities that mattered were new, and every interaction I had with staff was friendly. We arrived late, but we’re greeted and checked in quickly. I had asked for a room with a balcony which was honored. I was happily surprised by how big my room was, and liked the setup better than most. The desk chair and desk were actually great for working in the morning. The mattress was comfortable, which is important to me. I like a medium/softer bed for reference. There was nice new patio furniture on the large balcony. I like that they still have some rooms with balconies, I like fresh air and access to a functional door or window which is rare at hotels anymore. The top item that impressed the heck out of me though, was Donna at the front desk. She went above and beyond twice for me in my very short stay. I need coffee in the morning. Usually at hotels if I wake too early and the restaurant isn’t open I will grab a cold Starbucks can from the market, but it’s not the same. I went down at 5:30 and the restaurant had not opened yet. I started to walk towards the market, and confirmed with Donna that they opened at 6. She asked me what I needed and I told her. She asked what size and if I needed anything else, and ran back to the kitchen. She could have easily said “yup, they open at 6 see you then” but instead she went ahead and helped me out. The coffee was great! It really made a difference in my day. I truly appreciated that kindness. Also when my blow dryer did it work as mentioned above it was Donna that brought one up, and was friendly the whole time. Thank you Donna! Overall the hotel itself is nice, but rooms could use some updating. You can tell they have replaced some of the things that matter most, like the desk chairs and mattresses. I was impressed by the service, and friendly atmosphere.

The room we received made us question the cleanliness of the room and the hotel. There was food in the fridge from the previous guest and stains all over the room. The stains include following: lamps, couch, floors, room phone, ceiling (looked like some put a cross above the bed). This made us very uncomfortable to sleep overnight. The hotel seems to be in a start of remodel but that room should not be provided to a guest. We left a message at check out about the room conditions and was told we would receive a call but never received a response. Additionally, we contacted Marriott Bonvoy® Customer Care and they didn’t follow up as well. Very poor customer service on both sides. Fully do not recommend this hotel.

Two staff members, one male named J___L at the front desk were very unprofessional to me and my partner. J. would not smile or make eye contact when spoken to, and his voice had a low, monotonal tone. He appeared either lethargic or having a sluggish, temporary or permanent intellectual condition. The other staff at the bar, a female, showed a condescending attitude and verbal responses to my partner. I was placed in a room that had a non functioning toilet. It had not enough flushing pressure. J. said that it was a brand new toilet but I told him it still didn't work. It was not a brand new toilet. I confirmed this with a housekeeping staff who identified himself as a housekeeping manager, and he said that my room's toilet has not been working for a while now, and there was no effort by the management to fix it. I had to ask him to give me a plunger and a bucket so I could make it work just enough until I checked out. He was very empathetically helpful and attentive to my need.

I had a decent experience last time I stayed here. This time I was really disappointed. There is a big notice in the elevator that they only service your room every other day. Fair enough. I checked in on Sunday, by Wednesday morning still no-one had tidied my bed, cleaned my sink, changed my towels or emptied my trash. When I cane downstairs and asked for my room to be serviced the lady’s first response was “ you can always come down to the front desk and get towels from me”. No apology or indication that anything was amiss. I pushed a bit more and she admitted that my room should have been cleaned on Tuesday and said she would make sure it got cleaned that day. I came back Wednesday night, still no room service and none either the next day. So, if you are ok with no room service all week, I suggest you stay here. Like clean towels? Go somewhere else.

Booked this hotel so we could use the hot tub after a long drive. Hot tub has water in it but it’s not hot! We thought initially it was because they had emptied it and refilled it but no, apparently it hasn’t been working for a while (6 months?)The pool was very nice, warm and clean. Pool towels were awful! Small and only purpose was for a good exfoliation. Entire hotel is VERY clean and staff are exceptional. Friendly, helpful and always able to answer our questions. We had a king room with a balcony which was great! Room is a bit dated but everything worked and was very clean. Unfortunately housekeeping is only offered, every other day and as we only stayed for 3 nights, we didn’t have them clean our room as we had just arrived the night before and checked out on our next housekeeping day. We were able to get refills on coffee for the room at the front desk with no problem. I do miss those days when you stayed at a hotel and your bed would be made, your bathroom wiped down, garbage taken out etc. The room rates have not changed, but the services offered have. Maybe something should be done where you pay less if not using housekeeping, exercise room, pool etc. If you want those services you pay to use. Also if something major like pool, hot tub or other facilities are not working, a heads when you book would be nice. Location can’t be beat. Lots of parking, close to plenty of restaurants.

The hotel is well placed for the major highway and restaurants. The rooms are getting a little long in the tooth though. But everything in the room worked. They have a nice little courtyard outside where you can sit and enjoy a drink or just relax after work. The restaurant has a decent selection of wine/booze and simple food. The prices seem appropriate for that area. It is my go to place when in Wilmington. The best part is the staff. From a genuine welcome at the front desk to the wonderful service at The Bistro, the folks make up for the older condition of the hotel!

This hotel experience was like so many across the US in the 'post pandemic' era; extremely mediocre and ambivalent service. I am an Ambassador member with Marriott so fortunate enough to stay at a lot of Marriott properties across the globe. In general I avoid the Courtyard brand across the US b/c the hotels tend to be old and they give you virtually nothing as perks for loyalty, even as a top-tier member. This was a 2 night stay over an Autumn weekend in mid October with wife and under 1yo baby. We were fortunate to be able to use our Suite upgrade nights we had on our account. As an ambassador we are lucky to have a dedicated who can organize ahead with hotel needs and requests (i.e. crib for baby). In this case none of those things were acknowledged or done. In fairness the check-in person was nice and person who brought us the crib did try hard, albeit the crib was in terrible condition and no mattress cover provided which is extremely unhygienic for a baby. Parking is at least free. So while nice to be in a "suite" with more space and a balcony overlooking Fall color trees, the room was old and dark, with outlets not working, the sliding door to balcony broken, weak toilet flush, amongst other things. The room wasn't cleaned after first night, despite requesting. And is terrible we even have to do this now b/c this is a hotel not a hostel or Airbnb, and we are paying premium rates still. No explanation or apology and a few days, still no response from GM despite request as a result of this plus obtuse check-out service. In short for those in the no, if you want a below average Courtyard US experience, this is your hotel. [cue the generic response from hotel management with vague promises and acknowledgment but doing absolutely nothing]

As I understand it this property was recently purchased by the Marriott brand. Although they are charging typical Marriott rates the rooms and hotel amenities are NOT up to grade. In all fairness the staff was pleasant and accommodating. But I expect better accommodations for the price we paid for a single night stay.

The best part of our stay was Audrey at the Frontdesk. She was very professional and courteous. She was wonderful. Unfortunately, the first room we checked in smelled of mildew and had the AC blasting to try to cover it. We asked to change room and the second room was better, but still smelled. At least we could open the window. But we found dental floss on the floor, there was a circle stain on the chair, the mattress was not comfortable and we were bitten by bugs all night long. We stayed there because we had to be in the area, but this place needs some serious updating. And they have the guts to charge $225 for this! Very dissapointing.

Beautiful hotel within walking distance to several restaurants. The front desk person was able to allow us an early check in and the manager Grace allowed us a late check out. Grace is a multifaceted manager who also works at the Holiday Inn Express next door and assisted us at that that hotel also. Big lobby to hang with a bistro bar for light food.

I’m enjoying my Starbucks coffee (from the lobby restaurant) on my balcony, overlooking a park-like setting, as I write this. I slept like a log on a comfortable bed in a quiet, dark room. I rarely write reviews (and I travel a lot), but my experience here has been so perfect that I feel compelled to do so. Marcia at check-in was outstanding—friendly, efficient, and helpful. Ditto this morning when she served me in the restaurant. My stay here has been perfect. I know I’ll be back!

Pros: Very quiet, comfortable bed & sofa, good reading lights, nice small balcony w/2 chairs and table, good A/C. Cons: Sketchy Internet, wasn't told no daily cleaning unless requested when we checked in, returned next day and room not made up, then told, needed towels and coffee supplies and provided upon request, old model showerhead rather than rain forest and adjustable

I stayed there for two nights. It’s the first hotel I’ve stayed at in recent memory that didn’t have a safe in the room to lock up valuables. Housekeeping never came to clean up the room, make the bed, or bring fresh towels.

I have stayed at many Marriott properties I Dr the years, and chose this property based on the typically high Marriott standards. I was disappointed to say the least. The room had an unpleasant smell (as if too much air freshener was used to cover a smell). The toilet was dirty, and the tank ran all night. There was trash in the floor. The shower curtain liner was so long that it took up half the shower, making showering unpleasant (but the alternative was to place the liner out of the tub - which caused a puddle). I selected this Marriott property over nearby, less expensive options, but I feared I made the wrong choice. Disappointing.

I stayed at this property x 30days. I had no wifi the entire stay. The shower and sinks had to be run x 10 minutes to get hot water. Shower would run out of hot water in 2 minutes. 3-11 pm female ‘employee’ refused to give name. Rude. 15 yrs outdated
