We had an excellent meal on Mothers's Day. It was nice sitting on the outside porch. Food was delicious, but service was somewhat slow even though restaurant wasn't very full.

Seven of us went to the Franklin to celebrate Mother's Day. The restaurant was busy, but not crowded and the buffet line flowed smoothly. Every item on the buffet was fantastic, especially the prime rib which was cooked to perfection. Items were refilled before the chafing dishes were empty. The restaurant was well-staffed and the service was perfect with empty plates promptly taken away and drinks never allowed to sit empty. At $75/pp I felt it was a little expensive, but that's to be expected for a special occasion with limited seating. The quality of the meal and overall experience were well worth the expense. We WILL be going back to the Franklin again soon! Grayson Shepard

Four of us went for Sunday brunch. We sat outside because weather nice and inside did not look inviting. Our server took our drink order, she asked me to spell Kir Royal (on menu). Our drinks came out one by one. Mine was last, she said bartender was new and did not know how to make drink... I offered to help and explained (Google). Food took a long time and was okay. At least we got our food at same time. Not worth it. Forget adding on to hotel, focus on restaurant.

Visited this morning for breakfast. Food was excellent! I had the Cajun Benedict and my co worker had the classic breakfast. Will post photos.

Came for Sunday brunch. Oysters were just ok but the Franklin tartine was really good. Service was lackadaisical. I asked for more water and 15 minutes later, without any water, our waitress returned and asked if we wanted anything else. I guess water was in short supply.

The Creole Eggs Benedict was a delicate balance of bold flavors while maintaining a light freshness. Exactly what I needed before a long day of travel. I wish they would open before 8 am. I was waiting from 7:45 and was the first in line. After being sat, I was the last of 4 other tables to have my order taken. That is the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5. From that point on, the service was great. Just a bit clumsy of an opening, and I wish they would open sooner.

A new process needs to be established so the dirty dishes are not transported through the middle of the dining room in a clear tub. The bar trash can was also emptied while we were dining and carried through the dining room. Too much wait staff traffic between bar and kitchen. The dining room does not set the ambiance that a restaurant of this quality should have. The food was excellent. The waiter needed another word to use other than awesome.

Hands down, the best breakfast in the area. Nadia and Saunti are fantastic servers, friendly and personal. If I could give this place 10 stars, I would.

Easter brunch was spectacular! Seafood chowder had so much depth of flavor. Pork and chicken piccata were perfectly cooked and so moist. So many options to choose from and very reasonably priced! Service was fantastic and very attentive!

My husband and I walked into the Franklin Cafe at 8pm on Saturday March 2, 2024. We were in Apalachicola for my birthday. We sat at a table on the porch for 20 minutes. The hostess, who was very sweet brought us water, but no one else even said hello to us. We decided if we were going to eat anything we should go somewhere else. So we left. No one tried to stop us. Hopefully this isn’t the norm.

Definitely enjoyed The Franklin for food, drinks, service, and atmosphere. Inside the historic Gibson Inn, it is a unique, historic place and the food is good. It’s a little more lively, of course, on Fri and Sat nights.Parking: I’ve only seen street parking here. But it’s free and adequate.
