A quaint little French bistro.Pleasant attentive waitress and food made the right way. The veal chop with black truffle butter was cooked perfectly and the flavor was outstanding. Maybe the best veal chop I've ever had.The ratatouille which is grandma's recipe is an explosion of flavor in the mouth. I could have eaten a bowl of that with a loaf of bread.I'll be back!

Fantastic fare in Bellaire! This family owned hole in the wall is elevated cuisine with incredibly friendly and knowledgeable service. Food is exquisite and chef Nicolas can work his magic turning simple fare into the finest french dishes. This time we had the charcuterie to start and chateaubriand for mains. Excellent and the Bordeaux it was paired with transported us to the continent. Always great and definitely will return.

Disappointing! Especially on they way they they treat first time customer wanting to try something new for a birthday. They started by asking if I had a reservation, wanting to show the confirmation, it’s seems they didn’t want to see it? Didn’t even allow me to go to bar until this could be straightened out? GREAT WAY TO WELCOME GUESTS?!!? Her attitude was wait here!?!?! One said they don’t take online reservations, and the other says they do? (It’s kind of simple you either take online reservations or you dont?!?!) Real problem was, they way they treated one as unwelcome! And didn’t care they were embarrassing a customer in front of other customers!?!?! Make of that of what you will? (Just walked out!!!) I guess they don’t need new business? C’est la vie I wouldn’t even waste my time with this place. This was disappointing for small or so called family business treat locals, not that should matter!

We took my mom there for dinner Monday and it was an amazing experience, so much so, going later today for my wife’s Birthday.

Enjoyed an incredible dinner with family, steak was perfection, presentation was an art, the sauce on the chicken was incredible and service was warm and friendly. Love enjoying family owned and operated small businesses - oh and the pistachio crème brûlée is a must have!

This intimate small French restaurant is a gem for those seeking an authentic culinary experience. The food and service is simply amazing, with carefully crafted dishes that showcase the best of French cuisine. I'm always hesitant to try raw meats but the steak tartare is one of the best things I've tasted in a while. Highly recommend for intimate dates and anniversaries.

Nice Food, too ExpensiveEvery few years I try whichever French restaurant is in this location and I’ve always come away wishing that it’s better. That being said, the place is charming and the server (chef’s wife) is very pleasant and helpful. We started with a very standard French onion soup. We shared a goat cheese salad which was nice, but way too small and way too expensive at $14. For our mains we had the chicken which was OK but nothing special. It was a little on the tough side and the chicken and sides should have been hotter. (Warmed plates would have helped.) We also had the seabass which was a nice piece of fish and well cooked with a good asparagus side, again a bit pricey at $44. We also had two glasses of wine.Overall, things were generally good to very good. But the final bill, with tax and 20% tip, was $153. That’s just not worth it. Maybe Chez Colette will morph again and I’ll return.
