Wish I could include a review on the actual product but sadly I cannot. When thinking of a place to get a custom cake for baby shower, my mind went to Sugar Chef by default, as they had done my sister's wedding cake circa 14 years ago. Their products were always visually appealing, and I remember the New Yorker cupcake from their downtown WPB store being fantastic as well as several other flavors (bummer when that store closed). I don't know if it's new ownership or what but I'm disappointed to say the least... I booked a custom tasting (on 2/28/24) through SquareUp (which redirects from the Sugar Chef website), included the date & time for the appointment (3/9/24) which was well within business hours and farther than a week out, and included all the cake flavors/information. Receive an automated response via email and text that my "appointment request is awaiting review" and to "look for a follow-up message soon"; never received any follow-up whether it be by text, call, or email. Cancellation policy asks that you let them "know at least one week ahead the 3 choices of cake and fillings" (did that) and that if you need to cancel, to "cancel at least 1 week before the beginning of your appointment" (never got a confirmation so was the appointment even on the books?). Was going to leave a voicemail but their voice greeting says email is the quickest way to reach them... emailed asking if someone could confirm if the appointment was scheduled, no response. Could I go ~20 miles out of my way as a pregnant woman and drive to an appointment that "may" be on the books? Of course. Will I? Absolutely not. What's the guarantee that if the appointment is "on the books", that all the flavors I specified will be adhered to, when I didn't even get a confirmation in the first place? Clearly they don't need my business if they can't bother to check their online bookings. Oh, and $45 for essentially three cake slices? A bakery more local for me provides six for $50, and confirmed my appointment smoothly. Please do better with your communication to potential customers, Sugar Chef.

Had a custom cake made for our anniversary and it was replicated beautifully! Down to the exact shade of pink they used. Looked exactly like the photo I sent. The only thing was the cake was dry, so we took a few bites and had to toss it. We were disappointed, but we still appreciate the hard work they put into creating a visually beautiful cake. 10/10 as far as replicating the cake. The raspberry filling was different from the original, but we were told it would be in advance so that wasn’t and issue whatsoever. We were not a fan of it though. I will try them again this year! Both of the women were very nice when I picked up the cake and the location is super cute and clean. The huge cake in the photos I shared is the original cake at my wedding and the one tier is what they replicated. We absolutely loved how it looked. I would probably just modify the flavor this year to try something new. Z

This place was awesome!!! The cake, cookies and cupcakes i ordered for my wedding were soso yummy!! The way everything was presented and prepared left me speechless!! I could not be more happy with how amazing everything tasted and looked!! The vanilla cupcakes with nutella filling were a fav and so were the sugar cookies!!!

So disappointing! Cake was so dry & tasted as if it was a few days old. Exterior was not at all what i had requested. not only did i gave a detailed explanation over the phone i kindly sent pictures with the details in writing aswell. For $160.00 i could have bought all the cake mixture pots, pans & made it better myself. I wrote to the chef on instagram but they quickly deleted my response & picture of cake with no response or acknowledgement. Shame on you, go back to school & learn some professionalism!thank you google!

We can't say enough about how thrilled we were with the beautiful and delicious cake that Leah and her team made! It was like a black forest cake with buttercream icing - everyone loved it!We wanted a very special cake to help celebrate my father's 95th birthday. He is from Bavaria Germany and Leah was able to have a print of the Bavarian flag (blue and white checkered) - in my father's favourite colours. We had a wonderful party with close family and he was so delighted - gobbling up every last bit of his piece! Thank you Sugar Chef!!!!
