Tavolo Italian Kitchen & Bar

After reading great reviews online, from the Palm Beach Post and Google. My wife and I wanted to try Tavolo. My wife and I went there last night (1/19/24) at 6:00pm and we were not impressed. When we sat down, both of our water glasses were dirty, my wife's glass had lipstick on the rim of the glass and mine had stuff stuck to the outside of the glass, which was noticeably fifthly. We told the waitress and she retuned with clean glasses. We ordered an appetizer, the Tavolo Meatballs which was in creamy polenta, that was pretty good and came out fast. The bread was really good and fresh, which we had to ask for. Bread wasn't automatically placed on the table. I had ordered the Braised Beef Short Rib and a side of the Wagon Wheel Rigatoni that they import from Rhode Island. The waitress returned 10-15 minutes later letting us know that they ran out of the Short Rib at 6:10pm on a Friday night (one of the busiest nights of the week). After that the waitress came back 5 minutes later and told me they also ran out of the Wagon Wheel Rigatoni from Rhode Island that I ordered. They ran out of both dishes that I ordered, the 2 dishes that I came for. The waitress was very nice, she did apologize many times to us. She took my new order, Braised Beef Shank (I asked for the asparagus tips on the side ) and of course the dish came out with the asparagus tips in the dish had to remove the asparagus myself. The dish was very bland, no taste to it. After seeing the cliental there, which was a much, much older crowd, I see why they cook very bland. It took a long time for the dinner to come out over 40 minutes, but it was extremely busy and I understood. My wife ordered a fish dish, which she also found it very bland. We didn't even take home our leftovers, very disappointed. During the dinner, the waitress refilled our water glasses which tasted awful, the water tasted like metal. (which didn't happen with our original waters). We then asked for a bottle of water, which took the waitress over 15 mins to get, when it arrived the waitress didn't even open the bottle for us, it needed a bottle opener. We finished our dinners before the water came. We did not get charged for the bottled water. Our experience there wasn't so great. Maybe it was due to it being a Friday night, it was very busy and a huge line there. The Manager said that he would come by our table when we were seated, but he never did. We sat at the end table by the bar and everyone who walked by us, placed their hands on our table including the most of the waitresses that worked there (it was annoying and rude to have someone put their hands on your table while your eating). Very disappointed after seeing great reviews online for the restaurant, we came all the way from Royal Palm Beach to try it. I wish I could give it a great review, but I honestly can't. How do you run out of your two of your best dishes at 6:00pm which I read a review on it online and was really looking forward to trying it. Parking lot was crowded from the other stores and restaurants there but we managed to a get a spot at 6:00pm. When we came out at 7:30pm, there were no parking spaces left in the lot from the multiple restaurants and stores there.
