Tried this place for 1st time. Had it delivered. It was very well packaged. Everything was separate so it was easy to heat up. Unfortunately, the taste & flavors just were too bland. The chopped brisket was all fat & no flavor or meat. You would literally have to drench in BBQ sauce to enjoy, and even with that- I couldn't finish because it being so fatty. Potato salad was really good. Good size portion for a side. The hush puppies were too burnt to enjoy the flavors inside. If they weren't so burnt, definitely would have loved.

The food here is amazing, and I am happy to see a new local restaurant come to the area! I have gotten to go and delivery from Atypical Kitchen and the orders have been perfect every time.The portions are huge, and you get plenty of food. The staff is very friendly and personally delivers your food to your door. My favorite is the burnt end tacos and street corn! This is going to be a very popular spot in Lakewood Ranch once people hear about it.

We decided to try this new place based on the good reviews. I actually would rate this a 4.5 to 4.75 star if the option existed. So I rounded up.?Overall, the food was good. Good smoked meats (beef and turkey). LOVED the cornbread and cinnamon butter!I live literally 1.3 miles away, so less than 3 minutes from them and the wings were just barely over room temperature, and dried out (not fresh tasting at all). The ranch dressing was very runnyI never mind at all paying for good food and service. I did feel 40.00 was a touch steep for a philly sandwich, a Cobb salad with turkey, and 10 wings. Keep in mind this is only a carryout place, not a dine in restaurant (so less overhead).FYI for those worried about Covid (I am NOT), None of the workers behind the counter wore their masks even though their sticker on the door said to. I dont think masks do anything anyways, but for those who care-stay home and cook your own food.For the person who rated them a 2 star because their online system didnt take their credit card, is absurd. Likely not their fault or maybe your c.c. company declined it because it was an online processor. Sometimes that happens.

Great takeout option for the Lakewood Ranch area! I picked up dinner on the way home from the YMCA. I am not typically a big barbecue fan, but this food is outstanding (decadent). I am happy that I found the Atypical Kitchen.It will also be a great option for catering a business lunch.Check it out!

We have been eating their food at the Naughty Monk since they started offering their food as part of the COVID response. Everything is great! I love their brisket and my wife loves the shrimp tacos. We both tried the smoked turkey cobb salad recently and it was awesome!

Best barbeque in the area ... maybe anywhere! The pork and brisket are phenomenal and nothing is slathered in sauce. You get to pick from their homemade sauce selection and add your own. I highly recommend the golden and the white sauces.My wife loves the burnt end tacos. If you are a fan of wings, this is the place for you! They're smoked for several hours, and again, you get to pick and apply your choice of sauces. They are normally flash-fried just prior to serving, but you can request them to be grilled instead, and they're fantastic!Check out Atypical Kitchen, you'll be glad you did!

I discovered Atypical Kitchen through their partnership with Naughty Monk Brewery. This review is actually the food portion of my review for Naughty Monk... "ATypical" Kitchen is a-typically delicious! The pork rinds and pimento cheese should be a controlled substance.... just perfect. They have lots of other tasty choices.. we've tried the brisket, pulled pork, and smoked turkey-- all very good! The turkey club is my wife's favorite. I'm a fan of the "cheesesteak" with all three meats. For takeaway, the sandwiches are served "deconstructed" so everything remains fresh for assembly at home!This is beyond bbq, beyond pub food... really quality ingredients, an unusual selection that really works. Everything they serve is prepared with care and attention to detail. This actually is "a-typical!"

Such a great addition to the neighborhood! I ordered delivery and was very impressed by the quality of the food and how much care went into the packaging. We ordered the brisket, pulled pork, hush puppies, corn and corn dogs. It was all amazing. We will definitely order again!!

My wife found this carry out on Facebook and we decided to try it. WOW. The food was excellent. My brisket was juicy, her pulled pork very flavorful. We go the corn bread which was huge and not dry like you get at other places. We got the hush puppies and they should not be missed. We will return.

Great addition to LWR area! Interesting menu and delivery? Thank you. Also prices for BBQ are good. We ordered online which worked well, it's a second party system but the delivery is through the restaurant which is a serious plus. Also, the system said the delivery time would be almost an hour, however it was here in 15 minutes! That means someone literally fixed our meals and gave them right to the delivery guy who showed up STAT, probably due to what looked like a Ford Focus Rally car hahaha. Overall it's the type of place we need here and now.
Tonight we ordered Atypical for the second night in a row after last night was so good. Our order was missing an item, and when I called to report, they immediately acknowledged the error and sent out the item for a follow up delivery. Not only did we receive the hush puppies, but they went above and beyond and included a free dessert as a supplement. It was completely unnecessary but very much appreciated. Dinner tonight and last night were both tremendous and we look forward to coming back again and again. Tonight proved not only do they have great food, but are committed to great customer service as well. Thank you for a great experience.

Our svhool PTO provided lunch for Our staff from Atypical Kitchen. Everyone raved about whichever meal they had. I had the brisket sandwich with potato salad. Both excellent. LOVE the onion ring topping!

We ordered take out looking for something different. I got the wedge salad with turkey. The Turkey was tender and delicious. The salad was so yummy. A great healthier option to takeout. This will become one of our regular spots.

Just got the burnt end hush puppies w white sauce, Hawaiian pulled pork with street corn and the brisket sandwich with southern style green beans for take out. Oh my. So so so good. We will be repeat customers. Thank you Atypical Kitchen. No pics bc we ate everything too quickly.
