This place is legendary in Bradenton and the locals have great memories of their favorite place for the best milkshakes, burgers and fries in Bradenton. We're actually lucky enough to live with in walking distance. Like a 50's style soda shop and it's really that old. Still the best shakes and burgers!
Fun little old fashioned roadside burger Cafe. Classic fast food: burgers, fries, shakes, soft serve, fried shrimp or chicken strips. You place order at one window and the server WRITES IT DOWN, then you pay and wait for your name to be called from the second window - even for water! Though it has a small counter, all seating is outside only and as cute as it is with the hibiscus flowers and all, it is still on a very busy (loud) road. Most interesting public toilet/urinal arrangement I have seen in their (quite clean) restroom.Parking: Small adjacent lot that theoretically should fit all customers the place can.Wheelchair accessibility: Not set up to easily accommodate but probably passes code.
This place is awesome. It's a nice spot to have a dessert. There are tables under a roof and somewhat near the street. It's good for a nice day. The service was fast and the workers were nice. But the best part was the ice cream. I got a brownie sundae and it was a big proportion with great taste and a warm brownie to cap it off. Overall, this place is very good.

Diana rung me up for 2 items swiftly and with a kind smile to boot. Shake Pit has been around since the late 50s and is still kicking. Clearly a popular spot for visitors and locals alike as I ran across people from all different kinds of states. Now for the food, it was pretty good albeit a tad pricey. It’s nice to have the option to order a milkshake as drinkable and I swiftly drank my Peanut Butter and Chocolate Milkshake (classically delicious). They make them with real ice cream and it shows. The Double Cheeseburger came out with 2 fresh tomatoes, lettuce and ketchup. Just a juicy and delectable burger, not one complaint. If you’re craving a feel-good burger to pair with a shake in the shade, Shake Pit’s the spot to be. You can get more food for $15-$20 at other spots, but you can’t replace a positive atmosphere! ?
Chocolate, soft, serve ice cream is not nearly cold enough. Melt all over your hand. And they advertise chocolate dip, but then say they can’t give you the chocolate dip, unless they stick it in a cup.And they don’t give you your money back after you pay for the chocolate dip.

Traveled from Europe just to get a malted milkshake
I ordered 2 banana splits for carry out. I specifically asked for hard ice cream, no nuts I was given soft ice cream, nuts, no strawberry or pineapple. It was completely melted like soup on the 5 minute drive home. Which is why we ask for hard ice creamI usually don’t complain, but this is the 3rd time this has happened.

Great soft serve ice cream with a smile! Complete casual fair menu. It was our first trip to the Shake Pit and we're glad we stopped.
