My husband and I had just finished shopping and decided to get lunch. Lunch was great we had the Godzilla roll. Except the Filet mignon was HORRIBLE AND OVERCOOKED, we expected the steak to be a whole steak ? except it was diced up, and over cooked so chewing you can’t even swallow. The service felt rushed all the food was brought to us the same time no time to even breathe ?‍♀️. the server bearly spoke To us and when when he did, you could hardly hear what he was saying . Nevertheless we were still gona tip good reason being we r servers . But when the cheque was presented to us a 18% gratuity was added to the bill without even saying it us. I wondered why seeing it was just a party of two. I asked the couple behind us which happen to be white to see if they were charge a gratuity and they said “NO THEY WOULD NEVER ! “ my question is why were we never told of the extra gratuity being charged and why is it only certain couples are charged gratuity we all one flesh and blood ? NEVER AGAIN WILL I VIST THIS PLACE AGAIN EVEN THOUGH THE SUSHI WAS GREAT BUT THERE STEALING FROM PEOPLE

I'm local and this is my favorite hibachi/sushi joint. The bad reviews don't do this place justice. The sushi is always fresh and incredible from my experience. Hibachi is as good as any and they don't skimp on the portions at all. Always plenty of leftovers. Small, family run business so don't expect professional service but, the food is all that really matters, right? They are all friendly people!

New to Florida, we were searching for a good Japanese Steakhouse so we purchased 2 Groupons for Wasabi Japanese Steakhouse ( WJS) 5770 Ranch Lake Blvd in Bradenton. The 1st time we went was is in February, prior to the Pandemic declaration. As we weren't thrilled with the food and flavor of the Steak & Chicken 2 entries we ordered that first time, we thought we could try again at a later date. With the self quarantine and then the social distancing and then the stay away from going on unnecessary events occurred we called WJS to try to extend the expiration date. WJS was not interested in making ANY concessions or extensions. Nor was any concern of the current world wide pandemic shown to my wife who had actually made the call. I DO NOT recommend WJS to anyone! I would not go there again if they gave us free meals for a year! There's always a chance that maybe they will close this location if more potential customers are made aware of their lack of actions or compassion in this serious time. If that does happen, maybe it will be a lesson learned for WJS on Ranch Lake Blvd in Bradenton. As a consolation, after calling & emailing Groupon, they were gracious to offer us a Groupon credit for the $13.50 in question. Yes, all this was about $13.50. Nice to know we weren't worth this to WJS to keep us as a returning customer.

We visited Wasabi and we had a blast! The chef was very entertaining and EXTREMELY interactive with the kids which made the experience much better than some places we've been. The Filet Mignon was very tender and full of flavor. The hibachi calamari was the best calamari I've had and would strongly recommend trying it if you are a fan of calamari. I've posted a picture of just one part of the show when the chef told the kids the rice was smiling at them! All around great experience for everybody there, great food and very reasonably priced! What made it better was we got the groupon coupon and they honored it!

I visit Wasabi on occasion for my Sushi fix during the downtime of my work, however the quality of the food has been declining over time and their prices are higher than their nearest competitors by a fair bit. What broke the camel's back was that I visited on Tuesday March 10th shortly after 7 p.m. to have dinner and the entire building it seemed to only to be operating one server, well I was set at the sushi bar she seemed to ignore me for the most part and the sushi chef himself actually had to flag her down in order for basic things to happen such as getting a drink refill, actually taking my order for non Sushi items, to actually get my check and then for her to take my payment. I don't know if she was run ragged but the building itself was not busy whatsoever, maybe two tables that I could see in the entire restaurant besides where I was sitting at the bar. Admittedly the only saving grace of the experience was the man who prepared my Sushi, as he did everything he could seemed to try and keep things moving. The convenience of its location to me is greatly outweighed by subpar food and shoddy service.

We have tried a lot of Japanese steakhouses in bradenton & have found this one to be the best. I had the steak & shrimp combo & my wife had the chicken & scallop combo. Both meals were cooked to perfection. My steak was cooked medium & was tasty, moist & the shrimp were not over cooked. My wife's chicken was cooked to perfection & was moist; not chewy, as were the scallops. Meal size was perfect; not to little but not to much. Be advise, if you use Garmin's GPS, you will be going around in circles in this shopping maze. Your passenger will have to keep a sharp eye out to see the restaurant. Also, when looking at the doors at the restaurant, go to the left to another set. The ones you first see have a sign inside directing you to the correct entrance, but it is unreadable. Check on Groupon or Living Social to buy a voucher for $18.towards $30 worth of food

Very few restaurants had availability for seating in the area, so we took a chance....we are so happy we did because the reviews were disappointing. The food was terrific, the service was friendly and efficient and the restaurant was clean. You can't always listen to reviews. We will definitely return to this restaurant when we're in the area.Thank you,The Richardson's

We like the hibachi bar here. Food is very good and reasonably priced.

Disappointed. We've been coming here for years. Had to wait for table on sushi side even though all tables were open and we had reservation. Service was less than classy. Got our order mixed up with another table. 2 for 1 happy hour all the sudden is more than 1 would normally be?? Food was ok but took forever.

Food was pretty good. Show was so-so. Had the land and see combo for two. Shrimp and scallops were good. Chicken was dry. Fried rice was uninspired.

Melissa Wardell

It was ok. The chef was entertaining. Rice was chewy and lacking flavor. Dressing was watery tasting. Clear soup was good. Sorry but JoTo's remains my favorite.
