This time we went to have lunch. When we first got there we looked at the menu hanging from ceiling, then looked over the food behind the glass counter. We decided what we would try. We stood there for almost 10 minutes before any of the 5 people behind the counter even acknowledged us or even anyone else waiting. Then one women came over and prepared our order. She then pointed towards the cashiers and told us to pay there and they would give us our food. We thought we were on line. When the one cashier said next we went to her. She then looked at us and said, sorry I have to take care of those first, and she pointed to a line. No one told us there was only one line. Once we paid and got our food we took it home. Very disappointed in the chicken Marsela. Chicken was tender, but the sauce was very thin and watery. The mash potatoes were stiff with no real taste. But do have to say the cream spinach was excellent. My husband said his shrimp and rice was decent. All I can say is they are disorganized and was hard to know where to go for food and where to stand in line. Food iss so so. BUT will return for their pastries. Not the food so much!

Service was slow, and the place wasn’t busy. Ordered the rice with chorizo and pork, but there wasn’t much chorizo and a lot of fatty pork. In the pastry area, the Cuban bread was as hard as a baseball bat, so we didn’t buy any. The 5 Neapolitans that we took home ended up in the garbage, as they were filled inside with a white frosting type of cream instead of the custard type filling. Yuck! It was extremely too sweet and nauseating. Unfortunately this was our first and last time at this place!

Great options come to Cuban food, also a full selection of pastries. Lots of copies served. Plenty of room to sit. A little confusing to order while it's busy. But the food was tasty.

Food amazing as always and cashiers are always so nice. However I unfortunately heard the lady that made my sandwich say to her coworker as I'm approaching her to get my food "if she would get off her phone" as if I wasn't paying attention.I love the food here and would definitely come back but that was completely unnecessary to say. Hope it doesn't happen again.

Update- Over the last couple of years I have been back to Moreno Bakery and the food has improved. I really enjoy their bean soups and the shrimp is still a star. Some of the desserts are still just okay, however, the peanut butter cookies, blueberry gooey butter cake, and the lemon raspberry cupcakes are divine.---------------------------The first time I ever went here we did not like the pastries we selected , so I went again and not only were the peanut butter cookies and the brownie cookies great, the shrimp from the hot table was fantastic.I have been back 3 times since and I have not been able to duplicate the experience. I purchased some guava pastries for my employees and they did not like them, I tried one and they were lacking compared to my regular local bakery.I tried the shrimp again and it was pretty good, the sugar cookie I bought was not. Now, I went and picked up a pumpkin pie from here, instead of The Village Inn. I had misgivings about the way it looked and smelled and should have purchased a back up. I also bought some more shrimp and it was cold. I ate a couple and then thought better of it and tossed them out.. That said the pumpkin pie we had for Christmas Eve dinner was not good at all. No one in the family liked it, odd flavor and an aftertaste from the crust were the chief complaints, and the vote was to toss it out.A great place should have great food the majority of the time. I have found they have a few key baked goods that are great, some that are just okay and others that are just not good. Additionally, the cold shrimp from the hot table has me sufficiently done eating here.Unless I am in the area and I need a peanut butter cookie , I will not be back to Moreno Bakery.

Everything looks delicious, the chicken empanadas are so good, the Cuban bread is the best I’ve had, the eclair was amazing and all the baked goods we picked are delicious. I can’t wait to come back to try more!

This is a place that if you're even 20 mi from Brandon you should stop and visit. You will not get a better Cuban sandwich nor will you get a better pastry with guava or anything else that you can imagine!!!
