“My family and I were craving some good southern barbecue and had the best experience at Smokey Jay’s. The service was prompt, the prices were great and the restaurant was clean. The food was so good!! My husband and I both got some ribs with mac & cheese, yams, and greens. Everything was so tasty. The portion size was great. The barbecue sauce was sweet and tangy. It was such a great meal. We will absolutely be back again thanks for the great experience!!“
“Very cozy and warm dining experience. Love the decor and innovative menu selection. Waitstaff extremely friendly. Just so popular...you may have a slight wait to get served. Overall will put this restaurant on our "go to" list. Loved the lobster sandwich, grouper, gnocchi dishes, charcuterie board. Outdoor seating available with a view of Lake Ivanhoe when weather is nice.“
“We have eaten both at the restaurant (ticked away in a little strip center in Apopka) and for catering for my son’s birthday. The food is delicious and Zach was great to work with. They make the best waffles and their veggie pot pie has so much flavor. Their chicken sandwich and handmade potato chips are also so good and portion sizes are big! Highly recommend them for catering and if you just want a great bite of freshly made stick to your ribs southern cooking.“
“I really like the place, and the owner is really personable. The flavor profiles at this restaurant are terrific. However, my chicken wings (although very big) were chewy and tough like a turkey leg, and I had a couple of legs that were still bloody in the middle by the bone and then I stopped eating them. Other than that, I feel like it's a good place. I'm going back to try it again in the near future, so please check back in with me to see my updated review.“
“Everything about this place is amazing. The people here are so friendly, the food tasted great, there's even a little bakery connected! I got the spicy Buffalo sandwich and it was perfect. Not overly spicy. There wasn't anyone else here at the time but I hope this place has busy moments to keep it open.I will say 45 dollars for 2 sandwiches, 2 fries and 2 drinks seemed pricey. But having a good experience helped justify the price.“
“Great place! Had the chicken and waffles, and they were amazing! The chicken was very crispy and flavorful, the biscuits were very fresh and the jam they gave was amazing! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area! Great place for brunch and / or “
“My recent experience at The Monroe was truly exceptional. From the moment I entered, I was struck by the chic and sophisticated ambiance, which perfectly complemented the modern decor. The restaurant's stylish yet cozy atmosphere set the stage for a memorable dining experience. The menu offered a diverse selection of dishes, ranging from classic comfort food favorites to innovative culinary creations.“
“I drove out to Eatonville today to try the food at Kook'n with Kim. I must say the smotherd meatloaf did not disappoint. It was delicious! I had it with yellow rice, Mac and cheese, green beans, and corn bread and OMG everything was amazing! I ordered one order and it was enough for my husband and I to share ? I will definitely be going back ?“
“I like the Spanish flair, being able to order fried yucca and plantains with your BBQ. It's a unique spot and menu, good variety, food comes out fast and fresh. Seating and parking can be tight during busy times, recommend going at an off time.“
“Had been a while, maybe a couple of years, since I'd been, but I definitely won't make that mistake again. Every single thing ordered was on point. Sleepy little gem in Sanford serving elevated takes on Southern favorites. Came for a late dinner (9 p.m.) and ordered our way through small plates tapas style. Every single thing was lovingly and expertly prepared. One incredible standout was the Tomato Mac. When it was brought to the table, I thought it looked like it would be a little bland and watery, but OMG, the flavors and texture in this dish were incredible - a sweet and savory delight. Another standout was the chicken liver mousse. Chef's kiss! Also worked our way through hoecakes and the sticky ribs - the meat of which just fell off the bone. They were expertly trimmed and the Asian inspired glaze was to die for. Also sampled the cheddar jalapeno biscuits and the mushroom angolotti - all delicious. For dessert (all made in house), the cornmeal pie was to die for. Also had the smoked salted caramel ice cream, which was quite unique and inventive, as were the biscuits and chocolate "gravy."Even though the staff and kitchen were surely ready to wind down close to closing, we received excellent and gracious service and everything continued to be executed with great care and skill.I will definitely be sure to visit much more often! Compliments to the owners and staff!“
“This is a must when visiting Orlando. Lobster dish was good, but missing that added touch that every other dish had... we tried several items...chix and dumplings dish was fav!! Fresh fish was excellent and prepared just right! Drinks also rocked!!“
“This is my favorite BBQ place. I always stop when I'm in town.I am in love with the Bacon Burnt Ends. The sides are pretty good. Recommend the beans and the hot BBQ sauce. This place is usually very busy and it may take some waiting, especially if you want a seat. Service is pretty fast. Love the menu written on butcher paper, hung on the wall.“
“Shannon was a big help. I accidently ordered the fried breaded fish, when I wanted the fried cornmeal fish. She was so understanding and replaced it with what I wanted even though it was MY own fault. The food was hot and very tasty. Thank you Shannon.“
“Take out order: walk-in or drive through ??. The food was packed well but I needed utensils for three which I selected on the order. The food was delicious and we ordered the bread pudding that I wish I’d tried before the food because I could only take a couple nibbles after such a great meal.“
“I loveeeeee me a good drag show! Everything went smooth as far as getting reservations. Parking is a little hard to find unfortunately but we ended up finding a lot we paid $10 to park. When we got there it did take a little bit to get greeted by our server but they all were super apologetic. I loved how all the staff worked together to make sure all tables were tended to. Everyone loved their food. I unfortunately didn't get my food due to the kitchen running out of what I ordered but that was ok. I'm came into this knowing how this goes so I understood it was a chance to not get what I wanted. I do think the menu needs a little updating to more simplified dishes but they had a few great choices nonetheless. The show was great. The main queen did seem a little exhausted but she was still great. We absolutely loved the other two girls and their acts. Just an overall fun time!“
“The food here is great. French fries were crunchy and delicous. It is what you expect from a Greek restaurant. The pancakes are huge and everything is cooked how you expect it. I see no problems back of house. This restaurant suffers from a big red flag in the hospitality business for the front of house. There is no host or manager upfront for a busy Sunday brunch service. I would probably never return based on waiting over an hour for a table and being passed over several times despite being #1 in queue for 20 minutes. The only reason we even sat is because we complained and had to make things work. You have 3 servers seating tables which is a terrible idea. You should respect your servers and kitchen staff by filling the front of house roles on a weekend.Kid-friendliness: Free library stand and painted sidewalks for kids to play on. Next to a park trail if you want to take a little stroll.“
“Love the food here! Fried Catfish is cooked to perfection! (It’s also my favorite) Tried it grilled with the house special seasoning and it was phenomenal as well. The staff is so friendly, warm and inviting! Love it here! The shrimp and grits is my second go to.. 10/10 will ALWAYS recommend!“
“We went on the busiest day at the busiest time. However, the system in place moved everyone along. After our anticipated wait we were seated and immediately greeted by our server. Drinks were ordered and delivered. We placed our meal and it arrived hot and as ordered. Pancakes were delicious. Texture perfect, fluffy with just a touch of crispness on the edges. Eggs were done just right, scrambled and over medium. We love the cornbread. We were not rushed and had a great meal. We will be back.“
“We had the beet salad and the pork belly appetizers followed by the espresso crème brûlée. Everything was outstanding. Our server Dylan was very attentive and knowledgeable about the food and wine we ordered. We came at 5 and were sorry we hadn't requested a table in the bar area, bc we were in the front room with four tables and we were the only ones for 45 minutes. We enjoy quiet, but we enjoy being with other diners. We will be back! Lots of things we'd like to try on the menu.“
“Although I was visiting my sons for Christmas, they kept talking about going to Mrs.poo to eat. I said ok , went, and everything thing they described about her food was true, with large portions and delicious. She had a great sense of humor ? I will be back, Mrs. Poo for breakfast again. My son's 1 she always calls fat cheeks, lol . We love ❤️ you“
“Service was just as good as the food. I came through this spot a couple months ago with my friend and we've been dreaming about the ribs ever since. I almost forgot I didn't leave a review cause the food was so good it still feels like it was yesterday.“
“It’s a good thing to take care of your heart soul and Eat right, feel bright. We are all in love with your delicious food which has health, has hope; and he who has hope, has everything. Love this place and it has been so nutrient filled with life for last five years.“
“The chicken pecan salad is good. One suggestion I have would be to add spring mix to salads instead of just lettuce. The honey mustard dressing is really good as well and the chicken breast is always perfectly cooked and juicy.Didn’t like the chicken sandwich I got previously, it was really hard and poked my mouth, so wouldn’t recommend that. The croissants are great, but sometimes over baked.“
“This is one of my favorite places. Everything I've tried is always good. Last time I went it was during lunch on a weekday, I placed a mobile order and came when it said it was going to be ready and still had to wait an additional 10 minutes. So just plan ahead if you are un a rush because they were PACKED.“
“Best fried chicken in the area and especially for the price. Chicken was crispy, hot and not dry, and well seasoned. The prices are great especially with how prices of other places keep going up.Would recommend coming here for the fried chickenLocation might seem sketch but you’re here for good, cheap, friend chicken. Don’t expect 5 star services and atmosphere.“
“This restaurant wasn't very busy when we got there. It took the server awhile to get the beverages to us. Food was great but the gal didn't take real good care of us. They did get a little busier but her service could have been better.“
“The food wasn't too bad. This was a quick stop through. I ordered through the drive thru. Server was okay, there wasn't a long wait. Can't speak on the ambience inside but parking lot had few cars. Won't mind stopping in again in the future but won't say I'm running back.“
“Some of the best service I've had the host Carlos ensured everything was perfect before we sat down touching up the table even slightly even though it was in acceptable condition, then Mateo was one of the best waiters I've had in years, perfect service and very hospitable. I will gladly come back. Thank you!“
“This place is a great spot to grab diner style breakfast. We’ve been here multiple times. I got the country benedict which was sausage, gravy, and a poached egg on top of a biscuit with hash browns. My husband got the tuna melt. It was really tasty and the service was good. Pretty cheap we paid $25 including a >20% tip. We will definitely be returning.“
