I have never been a barbecue person. And that's probably because I've never been able to find good barbecue.That changed when I found Poppa's BBQ.They do it the right way, low and slow with a dry rub, Memphis style.They open at 10:30 but there's usually somebody waiting for the doors to open and sometimes a line so get there early.I definitely recommend calling ahead because they usually run out of food by 1:30 or 2:00.The pulled pork was amazing, but my favorite hands down is there ribs. The meat almost melts in your mouth.I want to point out their House made BBQ sauce, it's the first one I've come across that isn't loaded down with sugar.I definitely recommend them, whether you like barbecue or not you won't be disappointed.Also I want to point out that they are very highly recommended on TripAdvisor.I definitely give Poppa's five stars!
Great place for quick BBQ. Someone told me about this place with limited hours but great BBQ. We had a rack of ribs and they were delicious and a nice size with lots of meat. Pulled pork sandwich was good, but a little less fat would make it nicer. Cash only, we will be back to try the sides.

I’m a former local that left for the military 30 years ago. I live in the Deep South now and have had some awesome BBQ.Came home to visit family and a friend challenged me to eat here.Poppa’s is fantastic. No wonder it sells out. Their sandwich melts in your mouth. I want to eat more but I’m going to explode. Sooooo gooooood!!!

I am the supervisor of a local business and wanted to treat the employees to lunch on Thursday. (15 employees). I accidentally put the order in for Friday. When I showed up on Thursday to pick my order up, it obviously was not ready. The folks behind the counter assured me this was not a problem and they could fill my order quickly. Even though they had a line to the door, they still had my order ready in about 15 minutes. What life savers. I might also mention that every employee had the same thing to say: WOOOW, that was amazing.

Simple bbq place with good food and priced so reasonably! Meat, two sides, and a drink for 2 people for under $20! Not a lot of variety but good for what they offer! Clean restrooms a plus. Also, may be interested....no fountain drinks, just bottled drinks.
This has to be the best BBQ in clearwater. The ribs are perfectly cooked with a seasonings that you really don't need any sauce. The chicken was amazing it was nice and juicy. This is where their homemade BBQ sauce came in to knock it out of the park. The pulled pork was good as well. The sides tasted okay, the BBQ is what's makes this place special.Vegetarian options: Cole slaw and potato salad. This place serves real food!Dietary restrictions: Beef chicken pork good place for protein.Kid-friendliness: Nice spacious indoor seating.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp right out front.
