They have the most incredible mousaka you have ever tasted! The gyros are great, too! It's a wonderful mom and pop restaurant with friendly service. I have eaten there so many times and they have never disappointed me! Right now you can even eat outside if you like, as the street has been closed down and is full of tables. Vera's Kitchen is owned by an amazing couple and they are so welcoming and make delicious food!Their Florida potato salad and Pizza is delicious and they are very accomodating to food allergies and plant-based diets. I highly recommend this place!

WARNING: The review you are about to read is going to seem like a total advertisement for all the food I am going to talk about having tasted. But it's true, I actually did go back this many times, brought at least 10-15 new people to them with me on various occasions, and sometimes ate there multiple times in one day! Read my other reviews and you will see I'm the real deal!So, I recently (about 5 months ago) moved here from New York where I have at least 3 top Greek "GoTo's" and I miss them terribly. That is until I found Vera's Kitchen in Downtown Clearwater.What a quaint, perfect little Greek and American restaurant.I can honestly say I've had all their Greek Specialities including Souvlaki, Moussaka, Pastitsio, Gyro, Greek Salad and their Spanakopita which, I might add, is the best I have ever had, anywhere, hands down. And this was all in the first two or three weeks I was here.Then I also had the American favs which were the burgers (an American one and a Greek one which was a home run!) as well as their pizza, their wings (which were a spin on traditional Buffalo but somehow they topped the best) and a hot dog the likes I have never seen or tasted.Keep in mind, this is from a guy who just moved here from the Bronx!I found myself bringing friends there and even encouraging people to go because I have seen restaurants come and go downtown and I REALLY want this one to make it!Vera and her husband and family are the friendliest people I have ever met and I feel like family when I am there. In fact, when you go there, take the time to get to know them. These people are the real deal.Lastly, the cool thing is that Cleveland Street has allowed for outdoor seating so you can spread out, order and enjoy your food. There is even entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights. It's been pretty awesome hanging out. I enjoy it more than my own place!So, 5 stars for Vera and 3 cheers for her Kitchen, their menu, the atmosphere and the family experience. It's a great goto for Greek OR American food and I hope others will find out about it, maybe you too.Thanks Vera's for being my new home!

This place is a hidden Jewel! The staff was wonderful. They were very suggestive and helpful. They have a full menu. The food was excellent. We started out with two appetizers which were exceptionally generous. Then we had a wonderful hand-tossed thin crust pizza. The service, the cleanliness and the food are all excellent and caused me to suggest this place to all my friends.

Awesome atmosphere!! Owners are super nice! Food was VERY, VERY flavorful and fresh.! I got a Cuban with fries, it was one of the best I'd ever had! My wife got a Boston cheesesteak she described it as DIVINE ! It was our first time here and we'll definitely be going back! A+ place to go !!!

Owner changes prices. Facebook menu for spring 2020 says cheeseburger $4.99 plus $2.99 for basket. Owner charged $6.99 plus $2.99. First time and only time coming here when the owner can't be trusted. I pointed out another mistake and he gave me cash back but didn't realize this mistake until I left.

Called in a to go order and got overcharged based on spring 2020 menu prices. Pointed out one mistake after I paid with a credit card and owner gave me cash back. Got back home and realized he over charged me for something else. Cheeseburger $4.99 with basket add $2.99. He charged $6.99 plus $2.99. First and last time here. Be warned if you eat here double check all prices as owner apparently hurting with pandemic that he overcharges customers.
