The food was hot, the beer was cold, and the decor was pretty cool too. The cook, Kei, came to our table, greeted us, and came back to check on us and our meal later too. The bartender brought our drinks over and checked in too. Overall, it was a good experience with plenty of food and an attentive staff as well.

Excellent bar, good food, even better nightlife, fun dancing on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Get to know the staff, they are extremely friendly!

We checked out this awesome establishment this afternoon and we were very impressed. First off the atmosphere was amazing and you can tell a lot of thought was put in the design of this venue/eatery. The owner John gave us a tour and background of his ideas that created The Crying Monk. Once we were seated for lunch we reviewed the menu and there were so many options we asked John his recommendation. We were very happy with our appetizer and meal. Both were packed with flavor. We can’t wait to go back in the near future.

This place is very unique! Everything was built by the owners hand. The food and the service are top notch. Renee was awesome!

Today was my second visit in one week. Food is 5 star. Decor creates a cozy mood. I've only been there for lunch but I imagine the evening vibe will be even better.

Had dinner here with my food buddy, aka husband. We has the garlic curds and fried green tomatoes., they were good and it was enough for a meal. Then I did the fried green tomatoe blt sandwich. Would have like my bacon crispy and fries were very salty. My food buddy had the the Reuben sandwich, sandwich was good, that too was salty. Makes it hard to enjoy. The atmosphere was nice, we did not stay for the dueling pianos. Would like designated parking and more lighting out back, its dark. Will go again, then post again.

A rare 5 star find for lunch. We visited the Crying Monk on a cool Saturday afternoon. Jessi - the wonderful person managing the bar was friendly and helpful as we navigated the interesting Menu. She also shared with my wife one of the secrets in the small library they have next to the bar area...you will have to ask her about this.....As for the food...it was excellent! I had Cadence the Bards Beer Cheese Soup and a Pastor Rami's (Pastrami) Sandwich. My wife had the Lenora's Plum Raven Stew. We shared the Green Bean Fries. We both were amazed at the Green Bean Fries - these were outstanding. The Pastrami was a nice lean cut on marbled Rye Bread. The Crying Monk is now on our "go to" list for lunch spots!!
