The restaurant has gone downhill since they hired the manager Jodie. We found an eaten cookie in the salad and lipstick on a cup. The manager didn’t not even apologize, didn’t comp the check. She clearly has no determination to do the job, nor has any experience managing any food establishment of anytime. Truly shocking.

Very bad service, I work there and I went on a Sunday at 1:30 pm on March 24, 2024 and if at first glance you don't show signs of being a wealthy person, they don't even offer you a table, that feeling of not being treated at the same time made me feel extremely bad. the height of any customer, everything is a facade, I wish I had seen the name tag of the man and the young cashier, because the treatment was for status and not for service, I hope the manager reads this message and focuses on serving everyone equally without distinction and prestige because the money is the same for those who are acquiring a “supposedly quality” service.

The atmosphere and the service were on point. Unfortunately the food was not. The salmon tacos were a disappointment even though the server recommended them. The lime-cabbage "salad" was minuscule and hidden under the salmon which was lacking in flavor. The salmon portions were a good size. Where were the cilantro, jalapeños, avocado, as listed on the description? The salsa portion was gone in two bites. I remember going to Mariposa when it first opened and it was exquisite. It wasn't close to that during my visit. They were out of decaf coffee? Really?

The server was great, but unfortunately the food is not at the level. We tried the chicken salad on sour dough and the tacos but we switched it out to shrimp. These were both ok, nothing super flavorful or that I'd come back for. The place in general is very mid. The appetizer bread they give you, though it seems generous to give each guest a complimentary bread, it taste like egg and not good. The waiter was so great, but honestly, if you're coming to merrick, the food over at Bazille in Nordstrom is soooo much more flavorful and way more options.

This is a wonderful, chic, intimate hidden treasure on the third floor of Neiman Marcus that is unexpected in Merrick Park. Once you are on the third floor, if you don't pay attention you might just miss it. Look out for the Baccarat glass boutique counter and you will be there! The service, the food and the ambience are stellar! Mariposa reminds me of those hidden boutique restaurant gems in New York. There are many special surprises like the puffed bread, the strawberry butter, the consomme soup for starters and creme brulee or the delicious chocolate chip cookies you can take home in a beautiful NM bag. I have been going to this very special place for many years and it's a great place to bring a special friend or a have special lunch with a loved one like your mother, spouse or other loved ones for a refined experience. It's also delightful to see young children experience their first refined restaurant. Very special! Very different! If you are tired of the typical crowded and loud restaurants on the first floor of Merrick Park, go to the third floor of Neiman Marcus for a special experience! Please take the time to make a reservation. There is also outdoor seating overlooking Merrick Park. In particular, I want to commend an excellent server Gerardo. This is the first time I have something negative to say about Mariposa. The tomatoes for the burgers were small green ones, they must have run out of red, the hamburger buns were stale. Let's hope it's a one time occurrence.
heavenly popovers alone make the meal worthwhile. we shared the smashed avocado with plaintain chips, then had the lentil soup and shrimp citrus salad, All were full of flavor. Excellent service.
