“This is a hidden Gem. Highly recommend this spot. The food was amazing in every bite. The flavor, temperature, texture, and freshness of the food was beyond great. True and authentic Caribbean flavor in the dishes here. I loved the pork chop here and the Tostones were just perfect. Crunchy but tender freshly made like it was just cut from the Platano tree. This is just hard to find in most places in Fort Lauderdale. Can't go wrong with the Cuban coffee at the end to hit the spot and end this wonderful Caribbean art display and splash of flavor on your belly. “Best guava and cheese pastelitas. It was loaded with guava and cheese throughout the pastry .The cuban sandwich had shredded pork which was wonderful.Parking: It was a little tough finding it from the main road. It's tucked in the corner but Google maps got me there.“
“I love this place ! they have the best Latin food I've had in a while. Especially in the area of this place, food always tastes absolutely fresh and well made. Their drinks are light and tasty and every other weekend they have live music, I think? The Saturday we passed by, they had live music and it was so wonderful. “I love enjoying Cuban breakfast specialties when I can get them, so when visiting the Las Olas area and seeing this place very close, I went in for some empanadas for breakfast.They have croquettes, empanadas, savory pastries, and full breakfasts, including sandwiches, even Cubanos. On my visit, I opted for a spinach and a chicken empanada, a chorizo and cheese croquette, and a beef pastry. I also ordered their spicy sauce, which was a mayo-based sauce with hardly any spice to it.The empanadas were really good, with the spinach being my favorite. The beef pastry was decent and the croquette was nice too.Service was friendly. The place was steamy hot on the morning I went, like the AC was broken. I’d definitely return when in the area though, as they have so much to try.“
“Home cooked by GRANDMA! I was pretty amazed stopping by this little hole in the wall. I didn't expect much of it because I don't typically go out for Cuban food being Cuban myself. I made an exception for this little hole in the wall. We were instantly greeted and felt comfortable. It got full VERY quickly. As we browsed the menu, we noticed regulars stopping by and being greeted by their first name by the staff. That's when you know, they're regulars and the food is bomb. The Cuban food was as close to Cuban as it can get, in the streets cooking for people. It had a very home cooked taste that you don't typically find in the "Cuban" chain restaurants many know of in South Florida ie La Caretta, Latin America etc. What surprised me the most was, I saw the cook coming out when the restaurant was packed and everyone was eating. Of course, you cannot guess who it was? IT WAS THE GRANDMA. Yup! No lies. A , what appeared to be a 60+ year old grandma COOKING the Cuban food by the book. She puts Nitza Villapol to shame. Jk Cubans know who that is. A part of me was grateful a grandma was the head chef because only a grandma would still cook with that much care for masses in a restaurant. The other part of me, the granddaughter side, wishes she would rest. Either way, I'm grateful she was cooking the food in this restaurant. For that alone, I would come back to that restaurant and recommend it to others. If you are looking for authentic Cuban food, Don Carlin is the place to go. Service was fantastic , food was great, restaurant was cozy but not fancy and the prices were still reasonable for this day and age.“

“Good food. Everything is made fresh so the waits are a bit long. We came in April and it was so hot. We waited over 30 minutes for two sandwiches. It was unbearably hot. Ambience, comfort, temperature, everything affects the taste of the food. I would have enjoyed it more if I was not standing in the hot sun for 30 minutes. I know- it's a food truck. They can't help it. I get it. Definitely 5 stars for the food.“
“My first time here. Small and cozy place to enjoy breakfast and lunch. I walked in and placed an ordered for Vaca Frita. She didn't hand me a receipt. In my mind how will you know who ordered what? She did take my name. I asked for a receipt she said email or text. Others are coming in and there were two ahead of me. I see them place the food on a stand behind the counter. She (different person than who took my order) asked me my name and hands me my food but again, the receipt that was attached she ripped and tossed. I get home and it's not what I ordered. It was delicious, but it wasn't what I wanted or ordered. Since I was on lunch break I couldn't return nor did I have to time for a remake of my order. Very flavorful and I would return. However, I think receipts should be given and matched so this doesn't happen again. I added the peppers (pikiliz).“

It’s great for a quickly heated hearty meal, good chips and a 6 minute turnaround on stove to table service.The margaritas are from a mix and they give you a choice of tequila. $15. The service is always friendly but we usually feel rushed to pay and leave. Even 1/2 way through the meal, I was asked if he can take my plate. Fork to mouth ! “Umm, ok”.Vegetarian options: Veggie fajitas, taco salad, nachos, quesadillas, guacamole.Parking: The parking isn’t really an issue. Close to the door fills up fast but the lot is close enough.“
“I order online and it was delivered by door dash. I was missing some of my ordered. I call the restaurant to advise them I was missing parts of my order. I was told that I have to come to pick up the missing items because it was deliver 3rd party. (That was the reason why I order online and paid for delivery so I don't have to go to the restaurant) I ask was they going to refund me my delivery charge since I had to go to the restaurant to pick up my missing items. I ended up going back to the restaurant for my missing items and the owner was not able to refund me but gave me a few extra items to off set the delivery charge. I appreciate the suggestion and for that I will return.“
“Amazing little Cuban joint! I've had a lot of Cuban food living in South FLORDIA and this has to be one of the coolest mom and pop type store I've been too. Super good Cafe Con leche, fast and friendly service and the Cubano Sandwich I had was mouth watering. It has this cool authentic feeling when you just walk in there. Highly recommend giving this place a shot.“
“Very good Peruvian food. It is far from Boca Raton but the food has always been good. The Aji de Gallina, chicken in a sauce, and the fish dishes have always been very good. The Lomo Saltado is really good also and the Causa de Pollo and Tuna is great with the Aji de Amarillo sauce. Worth the drive!!!“
