Our experience was fantastic right from the start. We were greeted very professionally by the hostesses who gave us sparkling wine while we waited. They gave us the table that I had requested (upon making the reservation) which I was grateful for because there were 6 of us and round tables are fabulous for conversing. Stephanie, our server, plus every staff member we encountered were attentive & friendly. The food was amazing! I had crab cakes which comes with a delicious salad plus I added a side of fries which were thin cut and perfectly crispy. Everyone in my party enjoyed their food! The vibe is modern, sophisticated & cool. It was pretty loud inside but the restaurant was packed so it was understandable. I'm super happy with JOEY NB and look forward to visiting again!

I'm so disappointed with this place. The first time I came here it was amazing . Service on point and the food was absolutely amazing. The second time was our anniversary. I made a reservation and even though I had one we still had to wait 30 minutes. But once we were seated we couldn't get a server .. we kept flagging whoever was walking by to order our food. And never got a server ... honestly I doubt I would come back to Joey's' it's way too disorganized and made the entire experience uncomfortable and disappointing!!

Atmosphere is great it's a good new addition to Newport Beach. Service could be better. We ordered a bottle of champagne that they had on the menu but the waitress said it hadn't been in a cooler and was warm. Then we ordered a different option and after that we had to flag someone down to order we were left alone for so long. I also think the font on the menus especially the wine list is ridiculously small, hard to read in dim lighting. I have perfect vision but my friend couldn't read anything. But the sea bass is amazing.

This is Outback Steakhouse food, maybe ihop at best. The most chewy steak I've had. Food came out cold, very overpriced for quality served. I was very disappointed. Food was raw and cold in center. We almost paid 1k for food that was 1 star. I will never be going back. It was below subpar and awful. Manager was rude and we had to convince him to take our food back. We will never be returning and I suggest you do the same.

Came here right after a girls trip and had the best time ever! Let me tell you why. They start you off with a complementary glass of champagne which immediately made our day after our travels. It's by fashion island so the vibe is exactly what you want and need after a day of shopping. Everyone was so sweet and attentive and gave us plenty of delicious recommendations . I was a huge fan of the creative cocktail menu. Cannot wait to come back already. Do yourself a favor and order the Steak and Ravioli Bianco!

We dined here the other night and didn't have a reservation so had to wait about an hour. No problem, we walked around fashion island and shopped for a bit. The food here is excellent, the service was just ok. Our waitress seemed aloof throughout the meal, almost as if she didn't want to be working that night. I get it, we all have bad days but this was a special occasion for us so it soured the evening a bit. We got the sushi app, I had the chicken parm (which had drop peppers in it which gave it an incredible kick) and my husband had the blackened chicken which was also very well executed. We finished with the chocolate lava cake which was good as well, although we debated if we should have went with the butter cake as we were wondering if it would rival Mastros. Regardless, you'll enjoy the food here.
Great spot! Food was excellent, we didn't have to wait for a table since we went on a weekday before lunch. Server was very polite and patient as we were taking time to decide.

Wow, what a great experience! From the moment we walked in, the service was impeccable. The welcome sparkling wine was a nice touch to start our meal. But, the absolute best part of the day (and the reason why I will be going back) is Zach, our server. What an extremely knowledgeable, friendly, genuine person. So happy to be seated at his table. Hopefully, you will also get lucky and sit at his table. Oh, and yes, the food and drinks are very delicious. :) Steak and ravioli - the sauce really makes the dish! You will not be disappointed. Drinks - the margaritas are wonderful. Spicy strawberry is creative and refreshing. Very nicely balanced between sweet and spicy.

My husband and I came down from Napa Valley to visit our best friends on the opposite side of Cali. The place was lovely. They start you off with comp champagne and the food/drinks were delicious! The service could have been better. Our server told us she was going on a break and that her colleague would check in on our table meanwhile, that individual never appeared, so it took us a while to order anything else. It was a very busy night though. Over all, I enjoyed the dinner.

Ambiance is a scene. Not my type of crowd. Maybe I went on a weird night but it felt "ghetto." Place was super busy-chaotic-sardined in-seating. Ick. The decor was 80s vibe meets modern updated Jewish deli. Drinks and food are ok. Nothing Fabulous or Michelin worthy. However the most redeemable item is their Truffle Parmesan Fries. I would go back for that. If you are in your late 20's then this is your place. Because it was so busy, the server was not nice. And she was anxious to turn over the table to make more tips. Because of the horrible food service, I probably won't go back.

I've been wanting to try JOEY for awhile since I heard it's the spot to go to in Newport. Decided to make a reservation to have a nice Galentine's dinner. The reservation was easy to make online, however we were pretty disappointed to be seated at a dark table in the corner of the bar instead of the main dining area. Cocktails (4/5): my friends and I enjoyed our drinks, $21 is a little pricey for OC though. Crab Cakes (4/5): solid appetizer. Steak & Ravioli (3/5): the flavors were good, but the raviolis on all 3 of our entrees were undercooked and the steak was a little tough. Overall had an ok experience. I felt like the food and ambiance were not worth the price at $75 per person. The free glass of champagne was nice though and our server was very friendly. The hostess area could use some work, we stood around for 5 minutes before being acknowledged.
