I called for a last minute reservation the morning of myself and a few girlfriends wanting to do a brunch. I didn't expect to get a table and figured we'd wait but the hostess was so accommodating. Although it sounded like she was booked for the time we requested, she gave me a few options. We ended up choosing 2 split tables inside next to each other. When we got there the tables still had others seated at them and they felt really bad so we ended up moving outside. It was a little chilly but nothing unbearable. We didn't order drinks because a few had driving from very far. For brunch I got the smash burger with an egg, and a side of bacon. Everything was cooked perfect. The girl next to me had ordered the grilled cheese and that looked fire as well ((however, it did included ham, which looked rather fatty so definitely keep that in mind)) everyone else's food looked amazing! Our waitress was so attentive and our food came out within reasonable time. I can't wait to go back!

Very nice restaurant in the historic Deland Hotel. Service was great and so was the food! The chicken on the Caesar salad was lightly fried and seasoned nicely with the best homemade croutons. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that I had the shrimp toast on sour dough bread which was delicious but would have liked the bread to be crispier - wasn't toasted enough so it was a little soggy. Definitely would come back again.

Stumbled on this hidden gem on our way to Orlando. They smoke their meat on site. Specialty cocktails were amazing. Everyone enjoyed their entrees. Looking forward to the next visit!!

We have eaten here several times and they never disappoint us. The atmosphere, service and food is outstanding. Today we had Bella for our server and she was fantastic. We started with a home made cinnamon role topped with their house made whipped cream which was very big and enough for four of us to try. Three of us then had the Captain Crunch French toast which comes with a side of bacon. It was delicious. I also tried the Cowboy Candy which is pickled jalapeños with a simple syrup and it was delicious. It was not very spicy and had a great flavor. The French toast was outstanding. They make it using their house made sour dough bread along with a big scoop of their house made whipped cream. The bacon is thick cut and cured in house. They have a huge smoker out back that is used to smoke all of their meat. My wife had the Shrimp Toast which is also made on their homemade sour dough bread. It was piled high with medium to large shrimp along with sautéed onions and peppers then covered with a mild spicy cheese sauce and then topped with an egg. They serve their coffee in a French press and it is delicious. You can't go wrong with anything you order. The owners Ian and his wife Kacie are always around working either in the restaurant, bar or hotel. They are supper friendly and always willing to talk about the history of the hotel. This is such a cool place and a must to experience.

The service was fantastic and the setting was perfect for a lunch date with a friend. The food was excellent with a nice selection of menu options. Will definitely be back!

By far the best restaurant and brunch in town!! Brunch service was fantastic, great atmosphere and service. The Fat Kid Fries with a fried egg on top had an amazing sauce, the Short Rib Benny was served over perfectly toasted bread l, perfectly poached eggs and topped with pickled red onions and Cowboy Jalapeño candy jam.

Didn’t know an establishment could operate without manager.Spent $165 on dinner and drinks at this place only to be told AFTER my meal was delivered that they didn’t have the short rib my date ordered. She had to order then and we ate separately as my food would’ve been cold had I waited another 30 min. When I asked what they could do to rectify this situation I was told that there is no manager on duty so nothing could be done. I asked who was in charge of the restaurant then and was given bewildered stares and silence. When I asked who the highest ranking individual there was I was told the chef. After prodding the waitress to ask him what could be done she reluctantly went and then returned saying that he can’t do anything either. This would be fine at Jack in the box or checkers or something, but at a restaurant charging these kind of exorbitant prices for lackluster food and drinks it was shocking. Also, apparently by even asking I embarrassed my date so that went sideways as well, she also vomited up the disgustingly greasy food a few hours later. Two thumbs down , to the restaurant, the flavorless greasy food, and the lackluster overpriced mixed drinks, but especially to the service and the lack of responsibility taken by the automaton employees. This is a perfect example that looks aren’t everything, and the better looking is sometimes bland and insulting.

Per my usual, I used Yelp to find this little gem of a place since we weren't familiar with the area. The food was fantastic and the service was excellent as well. My daughter and I had the smash burgers w/fries and they were probably one of my top five favorite meals ever. Definitely happy we picked this place.

For DeLand this gets 5 stars- maybe not in a bigger city- but for DeLand this is one of the best options available. It is situated in the old DeLand Hotel which adds such a neat vibe. (I especially loved the lounge in the hotel, it's very cool). The Eatery has inside seating or they have a courtyard outside with several options for seating there. The menu had a good balance of choices- with apps, and salads etc, we had the cheese sticks wrapped in ham then deep fried, they came with a delicious tomato jam for dipping- there were also some sandwich/burger type options and several entre choices. My brother had the seafood piccata and I had the filet. Both were very good. I am so sorry no photos! So unlike me. My mother had the clam chowder and we all shared the Mac n cheese - we also sampled both desserts and while they were not something we would normally choose to order- we ate all of both of them. Oreo bread pudding with ice cream and fried dough with honey drizzle. All in all we were very satisfied with the food, and also with the attentive but not pushy service. I gotta throw this in- I enjoyed watching the chef thru the window - had an amazing set of arms! We will go back and next time I will order the 48 hour short rib. Most entrees were paired with rice or their handmade pasta. I prefer potatoes, but I'm not dinging a star away because of my personal preference. The food was well prepared. Especially around the holidays, I recommend a visit here, so nicely decorated and it felt very warm and had a special outing feel to it. As we left I saw an award on the wall that said their smash burger won best burger award- so I gotta try that as well!

Great food, service and atmosphere. Ian the owner is great and a fantastic chef that will come and sit and talk and tell you about the history of the hotel and the menu he has created.

The cocktails? Pure artistry. The vibe at Deland Hotel is like a warm hug - seriously. Cozy, cute, and quaint, just how I like it. If you're not there yet, you're missing out on the local magic! Beautifully crafted cocktails & culinary creations. Go taste the town!

Overpriced for average food. Location is not ideal either. Ambiance is quaint with a farm to table atmosphere and the service was ok.
