Lucille’s is good for stop if you’re in the area. Food has its ups and downs and service was good.We sampled a wide variety of food including some soups, kids meal, and the sampler platter for two. When entering the front of the restaurant I noticed alot of cardboard boxes on a rack which took away from the ambiance, however, the staff was friendly and we were quickly seated in the near empty dining room. To be fair we were there at 4pm in the post lunch/ pre dinner lull. My daughter got a kids menu and crayons. We ordered the split pea soup, the chili, and the Lucille’s sunshine lemonade to start. Everything was hot and fresh, and the drinks were well balanced. The one odd thing was the lemons that were put on the table for our waters were slimy… strange. For entrees we ordered the kids hot dog (my daughter approved) and the hawg platter for two. The ribs were good, and we sampled all the sauces available, my preference was the smoky but there’s sweet, spicy, and Carolina mustard available as well. The platter came with 5 meats - 1/2 rack baby backs, 1/4 chicken dark, pulled chicken, bbq brisket (shredded), and pulled pork. It also included your choice of three sides, and two corn muffins.Ribs and chicken were good. Pulled meats were not. Chicken was dry, brisket was a bit tough, and pork was also dry and extremely salty. Overall it can be summed up that the ribs and chicken tasted fresh and the pulled meats tasted like they had been sitting since open with little to no turn because of the lower daytime/ elderly crowd. The portions of the sides were small relative to the amount of meat they gave you. They also left a lot to be desired. The mashed potatoes were lumpy and bland, the cream spinach comes in a metal ramekin and was an unpleasant texture. It was basically a small baked spinach dip. In hindsight I wished we tried the coleslaw and baked beans. The meal finished with ice cream sandwiches all around which was a nice sweet treat to end the meal.Overall the restraunt seems to be in transition and stuck in the trap of delray marketplaces downturn. Seems like they have made a pivot to cater to older clientele, with early bird specials. This seems to be the case at many places in the delray marketplace area.

Got an order to go tonight. They did not include everything that we paid for.Unacceptable.....Is the customer really supposed to completely mess up the packing before leaving in order to check that each item is included?
