Stayed end of March 2022. Five people. Negatives: cannot check-in before 4 pm regardless of them offering earlier check-in on app, sleeper sofa mattress cannot be slept on(springs/super thin) and the dryer was rusted/stained some of our clothes. Recommend new mattress covers and washer/dryer/couch due to stains. Positives: Clean, bed mattresses firm, plenty to cook with in kitchen, easy access to the beach, beautiful views, plenty of space, comes with two chairs and umbrella provided on the beach, great location to all main attractions. Building clean, new walkway to beach with pretty landscaping. Solid accommodations for the price and I am picky. Vacassa checked in with us via text several times. Plenty of towels, sheets and blanket for each bed and couch, dish towels, to, sponge, paper towel roll and dish washing liquid, soap/shampoos.

Our family stayed at Crystal Sands Condo #215A. While the location was wonderful and the beach was beautiful, the condo itself was lacking in many ways. The bed in the master was very hard. There was only a very thin blanket and sheets. The condo advertised a sofa sleeper, but no additional bedding was provided with the exception of a spare set of sheets. When opening up the sofa sleeper we found dirt and sand in the mattress. Opted to sleep on the couch itself. The condo advertised beach gear, however no beach towels, or additional towels were included. There were only 4 wash clothes provided for a condo advertising it could sleep 8. There was rust on the patio furniture that ruined our clothes. The washer and dryer were old and rusted. The unit needs a lot of TLC. We called the mgmt company requesting additional wash clothes and bedding, a day later they brought a few more washcloths, that was it. If you stay here, bring blankets, towels, washcloths, etc... for the price I expected more. This place was the bare minimum in every regard.

We stayed in 309A. The pictures look nothing like it did in person. They have a great photographer! So disappointed!! It was dirty. All the lamp shades were covered in dirt and dust, the glass shelving over the toilet were covered in dust, the hairdryer mounted on the wall also covered in dust and dirt, smelled very musty, the carpet on the stairs and upstairs had stains and needs to be replaced, one of the electrical outlets in the main bedroom barely worked-fire hazard. The "second" bedroom was a loft so no privacy for the person that had to stay up there. The master bedroom was as soon as you walk in, not beach front (so disappointing) so you hear all the traffic outside your window plus right across from the elevator. So not worth $3800!! And the cleaning fee is $250. For what?? At best they wash the sheets and towels. Extremely outdated for what we spent. I've been going to Destin for years as well as many friends and family. I will definitely be letting them know not to stay here or any other Newman-Dailey property.

We visited crystal sands #209a, May 29-June 3 2021. We booked a little over a month ago to tag along with some friends so I knew we would be paying more but expected MUCH better for over $500 a night. This unit is grimy, smells musty, stained/worn carpet, the cabinets need to be painted, the jets in the bathtub had dirt and hair in them and did not work, old worn out furniture and I felt itchy every time I laid down in the bed. If you are on the second or bottom floor get ready for LOUD footsteps from the ppl above you. The beach was fine, umbrellas are pretty close together. The pool needs to be re-done, nasty mold growing around the edge. It’s an old building and I knew that…but judging by the pics I saw when booking I figured we were in an updated unit but it was NOT as the pics portrayed. I’m frustrated that we paid this for what we got. We won’t be returning.

This was such a nice stay! We loved the beach access and the location. Only thing I would have changed is the beds were a little hard and bathroom--shower area was kind of small. We stayed in 204b and would consider staying here again in the future!

There were three positives with this condo: good location directly on the beach, complimentary beach chairs and umbrella set-up and the beautiful weather. The negatives; however, makes this unit a definite NO GO for future trips. This unit was on the ground floor which was on the end of the building right next to several heating and air conditioning units. Impossible to get any sleep. In addition, the pool was directly outside the front door. Very noisy until it closed at 10pm - and we had to get out of bed to tell two teenagers that the pool closed at 10 the second night we were there. There was no information on how to turn on the tv using the remote. Had to call Cox Cable to get help.(Cox employee said DVR box should have been replaced). Even the company that rented the unit to us could not help. The fold out couch should have been replaced years ago. Had to use pillows to sit on it due to the hard metal frame jutting past the worn out cushions. If you rent this one - Good Luck!

Lets start with the good part. It is a great location on the beach. No special property amenities but you have a beach view and easy access to the beach. Not far from stores and restaurants. Now the bad part. While this place is livable, there many opportunities. We booked through Vacasa. They were good with email communication but did not text as promised when room was ready. However, we went after 4 and the key codes all worked. The welcome kit contained 2 dish towels, a sponge and dish soap and one each of dishwasher detergent and laundry detergent. The room internet did not work. I called support (a separate number) and while they could not fix it the instructed how to connect to another room. They said they would inform Vacasa. The worst part is all the black mold on the air conditioner vents. Who knows what the filter looks like. Looks like there was a leak about master bath and ceiling was stained and vanity was falling apart on the left side and the toilet paper holder was broken. Hair dryer only worked on low and there was no exhaust fan. Towels were marginal and one had a large hole in the upstairs bathroom. The porch was totally dirty. I had to wipe rails, tables and chairs. Both screens to sliding doors were ripped. Other dirty highlights were baseboards, paint on outlet covers. I could go on but you get the ideas. I rated a 2 because even low price hotels are in better shape. Oh, Parking was good and there were plenty of spaces.Lets start with the good part. It is a great location on the beach. Looked liked someone tried to paint in a hurry. There were old broken tables under the stairway and pillows thrown in a closet and the vacuum was thrown on top. I gave this 2 stars as even lower priced hotels rooms are cleaner. There was adequate parking.

Old condos, 3 stories, but still nice. Great beach access. Very close, so short walk to beach. Great parking. Stair and elevator access. Has a pool but it’s on the front side of the building looking at the road, not the beach, and it’s very small. We never even used the pool. Building seems old, not great plumbing, not great insulation (we could hear the people upstairs walking around ALL THE TIME). Our condo was very cute though and easily accessible, 2nd floor. Great view. I like this much better than a huge condo complex. Great beach views!!! Close to multiple restaurants and shopping.

I do not recommend this property as a whole but DEFINITELY do not stay in unit 312B. The entire condo needs maintenance and overall felt dirty. All of the furniture is completely worn out and cushions stained. Paint is coming off the walls and there are pieces of sheet rock just nailed to the ceiling in places - one of which randomly fell off during our stay. The mattresses are terrible, there were bugs in the kitchen, tile grout is black, etc. I really could go on and on. It's clear the owners do not want to put any effort (or money) into maintaining a decent place to stay. Also speaking to the property itself - the private beach was okay but know that it doesn't stay private. It's between 2 public access points and people set up on the Crystal Sands beach who aren't staying there. This was very annoying as we are paying as guests to have a private beach (especially important during COVID).

Another wonderful beach getaway. Gotta go to the beach and recharge my batteries as often as we can.
