Bascettis is absolutely amazing. True Authentic Italian food that was the best I have ever eaten. The restaurant atmosphere is very cozy and I felt right at home. The owner Eddie is incredible he made several recommendations and actually cooked our meal. The staff was very courteous and kind.If you’re in the mood for true authentic food that is reasonable price please visit Bascettis I promise you will not be disappointed.

Moving to Dunedin and sought a nice cozy Italian restaurant. Found it here on May 17 (Tue) at 5pm when they opened. Young server was still preparing tables with linens but guided us to a set booth which was cozy. After a few minutes an older server came over and introduced herself - there were only three (3) other couples ahead of us. Ordered a Pinot Grigio (house) for my wife and I requested a "Raymond R" Merlot. Was told she believed they were out of the Merlot but would check. Server returned and had found a new bottle of "Raymond R" and opened it out of view. Ok. Ordered two (2) appetizers: INVOLTINI alla PIASTRA and CAPRESE TRICOLORE along with fresh baked crusty bread and butter. Delicious and could have stopped there - very filling. Ordered our entrees: my wife had PENNE VODKA & GAMBERONI and I had the Veal Picata with a side of pasta in the same plate - it comes per the menu with mashed potatoes and a vegetable but I asked for the pasta on the side...not on the same plate (I'll be more specific the next time). Very tasty and lots of food and one large piece of veal. Took a long time for our 2nd glasses of wine since by now about 20 more people arrived in different groups. Waited to place our dessert order. Stopped the young server and asked about them - she listed the three (3) on the menu + an extra one of Tiramisu was available tonight. Just then the older server approached and we ordered what we wanted from the prior announcement of availability. The older server stated they did NOT have two (2) of the desserts - they were out. No Cannoli and no Tiramisu - the 2 we wanted. I was very disappointed since the owner would have had all day to make them before they open at 5pm. My wife ended the evening with a espresso martini. Will try it again on a day later in the week and hope they have everything on their relatively small menu. The food was very tasty, expensive and service was adequate - staff should all be on the same page. Our server said that I had to put the leftovers in the to go box due to the Pandemic etc.; interesting since the owner came out of the kitchen and did it himself for another table next to ours and even wore gloves.

I am from Rhode Island. My father an Italian immigrant. This is the best Italian restaurant I have eaten at in Florida and even RI in the past 20 years. The food is authentic and if you don't like it you do not know good Italian food. Very reasonable pricing as well! Been there twice in the past week. Try it, you will not regret it!

Slow night here because of the weather which made it easy to get seated. Bartender Lana was on top of things and funny, and Chef/Owner Eddie stopped out as well as showed me the steak options. Singer was great as well. Definitely work a stop to check it out.

Located in a strip, very small and has a family feel. They were open later in the evening and we decided to give them a try -- craving authentic Italian food. What a gem! The ambiance is everything, private booths, beautiful lighting, with quiet conversations. Perfect date night vibe! We tried the bruschetta to start and shared a bottle of wine, they have a nice selection. The soup and salad was very nice, I'm always a fan of a salad that comes out super cold and crispy. My husband tried the eggplant parmigiana, while I had the chicken piccata. Both were excellent! Can't wait to have another date night here!

The most amazing experience! Came in from out of state, and this was such a beautiful hole in the wall. The chef and owner is so authentic and made us the best Italian food i’ve ever had. Staff was extremely helpful and kind! Live music was absolutely beautiful. If we lived in FL, we would definitely be regulars. A dinner I will cherish forever❤️ Definitely a must try!

Don't be fooled by the small strip mall vibes. Food & service are amazing! Ed is the owner and he really cares about quality food & treating his customers like family.

We have not been back since the previous owners sold to the current owners . To get a seat at the bar during the old ownership you would have to arrive as close to opening as you could and hope their was a seat available. Today we got there around 5:15 and there were two other people seated at the bar . The web site advertises happy hour from 5:00 to 6:00 daily but when we asked the bartender told us there was not a happy hour ....hmmmm . There used to be a killer early bird special - no more . The food was decent but nothing really great . Bottom line in the previous ownership we would have 2 drinks each 2 glasses of wine 2 entrees delicious bread and salad and pay around $50.00 with tip . Tonight we had 1 drink each salad bread and dinner and with tip it was $82.00 . Again, dinner was fine - nice clean place .... But we really miss the old regime.

Bascettis is a little hidden gem in Dunedin, FL. It's in the strip mall between Belcher Rd. and Keene Rd. The food is delicious and very fresh. We had chicken piccata, lasagna, and house salads! Everything is homemade and the service is excellent! They provide live music on Friday and Saturday nights! Prices are very reasonable for this area.

I think I need to preface this review by saying that a very good friend of mine highly recommended this place which is why we went, so my experience may have been an anomaly. I could detail the entire experience but most people don't want to hear it lol. What I will do is provide you with the highlights. To me, the biggest problem lies in the kitchen and food.-I would recommend putting a sign at the door to seat yourself-30+ minute wait with reservations-Severely understaffed which is not uncommon right now-Rude or stressed manager/owner-Other bartender/waiter as accommodating as could be and we appreciated it.-Busy so they must be doing something right-2 of 4 meals were below average in quality-I felt like my meal was just rushed out and plopped on a plate-Prices were fair-Atmosphere was basic but nice-3+hours from arrival to departure and that's with no dessert-I added a star because our server comped us without asking and she was doing everything she could do and was pleasant

The food was fabulous. Ordered the special (eggplant and veal parm ($30.00) came with a fresh salad; bread. The veal was tender and the eggplant was the best I have had since moving to the Dunedin area (I have tried many Italian restaurants in the Tampa Bay area) and by far this is the best. The eggplant was not bitter and sliced thin. Came with a side of pasta. Portions are a good size. Other entre was Linquine with clams and white wine garlic sauce. The amount of clams that were ono the dish was impressive and most important every item was made fresh. You would not be disappointed by having dinner here. Staff is excellent

We had a reservation for over a week booked. They we’re understaffed and food didn’t get out on time. After almost an hour after we ordered our food wasn’t even being prepared yet. I’m in hospitality, so I understand completely how this works. I have never in my life left a restaurant without tipping. The server gave off a bad attitude the whole time and trust me I understand when you are busy it’s hard to keep a smile on your face but that’s the job and my party felt uncomfortable. We never got our food and a birthday party was ruined. In my 28 years I have never experienced worse service then tonight. They tried to make it right by serving us some pasta which I appreciated but it didn’t change the fact if you know you have a big party coming, and it’s Saturday night you need to have more staff available.

First time at this establishment. My friend that I came with has been here multiple times in past years and raved about it. I have been in the hospitality industry for over 20 years. I am pretty laid back when I go out to eat as I understand the dynamics of the restaurant business. Super cute restaurant on the inside. We sat at the bar as we are bar people. The bartender was clearly the demise of the establishment. She was rude and unfriendly, we were clearly bothering her. She was very rude to her co worker and constantly put him down in front of us. She swore multiple times and was also quite unhygienic as she put her hair up behind the bar and went outside to smoke all without washing her hands. She spent more time in the back of the restaurant than she did behind the bar. One table in the whole dining room and a few at the bar. Such a shame for such a cute place. The kitchen staff came out and was friendly. To which the bartender snapped at. Also don't talk about how you're "itchy" and drink out of your cup while you taking orders from paying customers. Rude and disgusting. Food was okay but bartender was definitely an issue. Get rid of the bartender and your business will pick up!!!! No one wants a rude druggie as a bartender
