The staff were nice and cooperative with our requested tee times. Unfortunately the greens on multiple holes are all but lost. Maybe time will help but right now not worth the green fee charged.

Awful golfing experience. We were harassed several times by staff to say we needed to play faster. No one was behind us and we played with experience golfers … our pace was normal and we pared every hole. Delivery to paying customers was garbage. Do better!!!

The staff were all excellent. The course condition is poor. Many patches of "cabbage" on the greens and in general the bunkers, fairways, and rough are in poor condition. We had the same experience lat year and gave it a second try this year. I doubt we will be back

We played Black Bear on Friday Feb16/24, and were shocked at the condition of the course. First the positivies…the course itself is an excellent layout with lots of fun golf holes especially on the back nine. Very challenging undulating greens which if they had been in good shape would have been fun. However, the entire course was in terrible condition, the fairways and greens were full of weeds, we played winter rules to find/get some grass under the ball.Staff were pleasant and helpful, but unfortunately it’s one and done for Black Bear.

Service very good and the food is great

P.B. Dye did a great job on the course design. Really liked the layout and undulations of the course. Tee blocks and fairways were in nice shape. Greens weren't as nice but coming around. Will definitely play there again

Come on Black Bear, what is going on? Played last week and the course is in horrible condition. What happened? Played there a bunch last year and the course was in above average condition. Really enjoyed playing there. Let's get it together. Such a beautiful course but you are failing to keep it up. Please get this course into better shape. I won't be back until you do.

Course was in pretty terrible shape, weeds in the greens and don’t miss the fairway or you will be hitting out of dirt. Not worth your time or money.

Course is in great shape. Restaurant is a gem. Come on out and see for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

Eight of us had a ball today! The staff went out of their way to make me and my guests feel special. I was proud of my local course and their dedication to service. Thanks to Team Black Bear!

First, I will start by saying that 1 star is too much for this horrendous first experience at the black bear golf club and I certainly won't be coming back. After years of playing golf, this is the first time I have had such a bad experience.Second, the guy working in the pro shop (check-in) should learn some people skills. It doesn't take too much to say "good morning" to the customers approaching him at the register. Rather, he gave you the feeling that you were annoying him by speaking to him.Third, it was brisk day outside and we (2 people, 1 cart) stopped at the turn for a hot drink and perhaps a small soup. We were greeted at the restaurant door asked if we were at the turn and quickly told we cannot stay long and were being pressured to get in and get back out on the course. Food purchases were limited to some pre-made burgers and hot dogs under a heat lamp ("grab and go"). After paying and using the restroom an owner literally told us to get out and continue playing, very rude. According to him, "We were stopping the flow of play and there were A LOT of people behind us" - Ridiculous. After this unprovoked interaction the management stated "I tried to warn you” as we walked out. There was hardly anyone on the course and we were ahead of the playing pace so I didn't really understand why we were forced out in under 10 minutes. There was also no starter / marshal, so rate of play and pairing was not being utilized. On the back nine there were 3 singles in a line. They seem to rely on just berating people in the club house to keep the rate of play. We still finished 45 minutes under the recommended pace, held up no one, and all after wasting a few precious minutes at the turn.Lastly, I am tremendously disappointed, it's hard to believe they so casually treat people so poorly and the trend from the reviews has been confirmed. As for the course itself, it does present some challenges and the fairways were nice, but the greens were not good at all. They were full of gangly patches and riddled with unfixed divots and pin movements. Not worth the money they are asking and you won't be treated nicely. Spend your money elsewhere.

Another great day at Black Bear. The course is in great condition and the staff, as always, is welcoming and friendly!!!

Moved into Black Bear subdivision that surrounds the golf course a year agoThis course has it all, (Plays as long as you want with many tee boxes, challenging grees and a lot of bunkers).Don't forget to save a little time to spend in the Clubhouse, always feels very welcoming. Enjoy!
