I ordered fried okra, green beans, mac & cheese, and yams; it came with cornbread. It crossed my mind to try the banana pudding, but the only desserts were red velvet, chocolate, & pound cakes.The lady who took my order also went into the kitchen to help Ms Betty get some orders out. When she brought my order out, she explained that she used separate containers to keep my food from spilling while I was traveling; it was appreciated.I enjoyed the okra & yams the most. The green beans, mac & cheese, and cornbread were just ok. The countertop where I sat needed to be wiped down.

Must be a neighborhood staple. I watched folks come and got to go orders. So that said a lot. However, the place was out of a lot of what was on the menu. Our server Jessica was so cool and truthful, which we appreciated. So she is the best thing happening there. With her sense of humor, it made the dining experience bareable. Once the food came, it was ok. Could have been hotter (temp). Batter for the pancakes was old, and ribs were so tough could not eat them. Collard greens were good, and the uams were really good. Fried chicken was good, and hot cornbread was really good. What did come out was tasty, but as I mentioned, heat was missing, and cooking time could have been longer for some items. Visiting from California, it was an experience, but my recommendation would be to stock up and have it available. Most of what was on the menu was not available. Four stars for the server 2 for the restaurant. The venue was ok. Old school dining area but clean.

They must have the worst employees working for them because each and every time I order food, my meals always gets messed up. Never fails!! Today I ordered $30 worth of food thru Ubereat the driver had to call me and say no more oxtails smh. I asked to speak to manager yet they gave me rude employee who told me ain’t giving me my money back then hung up on me. I gave them so many opportunities since they’re black owned but this was the final straw.

I go to restaurants to write honest reviews on them. I love when I am able to go to a soul food restaurant and write a good review. I am not able to do that with Betty's soul food restaurant. We arrived there around 12pm. Someone took our order around 12:30 pm. The waitress said I'm going to put your order in right now. 45mins later the owner comes and ask us what did we order. We informed her that I ordered snapper and he ordered pork chops. 15mins later they came out and informed me they did not have snapper. I asked for something else on the menu, that she stated they did not have. I settled for some smothered turkey wings, 2 hours later we took our food to go. I started to leave about three times. The owner asked us not to leave. I get all the way home with our food. All I had as turkey wings was three bone tips no meat at all. The pork chops was so saltyI thought this was terrible, why would a restaurant give some one tips and no meat. Our community is plagued with, high blood pressure, diabetes etc. It taste like someone had poured a bucket of salt on the food and a bag of sugar in the juice. Shame on you miss Betty.There is a waitress that is trying to close Betty's down she took people's orders and never put them in. This happened the whole time I was there. People tried to be supportive but the restaurant showed no care or concern about there customers. I don't wish this on no one but it is just a matter of time. The service was terrible and everyone felt it. Miss Betty you never know who is coming into your restaurant. Treat everyone the way you want to be treated.

The food is delicious. Fish was fried to our liking, biscuits are delicious, and grits were good. Our server, Danielle, was polite, courteous, timely, and attentive. We immediately realized why Betty, the owner, has been in business for so long after meeting her. She is well-informed and undoubtedly gregarious. The only thing I can propose is that they update the bathrooms with some financial investment. I wish more people realized the negative impression a messy restroom gives of a company. Without a doubt, I would return the next time I'm in the area!

They packed my to go order and forget my pie I took an uber there and I'm not paying $25 to come back . I ordered sweet tea they pour fresh tea over old tea that probably sat for God only knows how long andIt taste old absolutely unbelievable I can't trust reviews on Google because it was a total waste of $$$$ then she says you have to be here for a refund I should have ordered uber eats instead ???. Update they responded offering to have it delivered that should have been done when I called but wasn't offering anything but oh I'm sorry keep the pie I won't be back !!
