Cafe Primavera is an unassuming little place that packs a massive punch in flavor. The food here is simple, featuring classic recipes that really allow the freshness of the ingredients to shine. I ordered the mushroom ravioli, and tried a bit of my group's entrees (salmon piccata, chicken piccata, and chicken wallets). We also got a slice of the new limoncello cake for dessert. The mushroom ravioli was simply outstanding. The homemade pasta was the perfect texture, just a bit of chew with no sogginess or gumminess. The sauce had such a rich umami flavor and was absolutely packed with big pieces of mushroom. My group's entrees were all equally good. Though the salmon and chicken piccata were prepared the same way, they each tasted uniquely different. The salmon was so tender, and the chicken was incredibly juicy. The capers in both dishes had a good brine flavor without being overwhelming. The chicken wallets blew me away too. Breaded with a healthy amount of seasoning and a dusting of flour and stuffed full of cheese, spinach, and mushrooms, it was quite an indulgent dish. If they have the limoncello cake when you visit, be sure to leave room for dessert! This cake was not overly sweet, with great lemon flavor and a tasty marscapone and ricotta filling. Served with fresh fruit and whipped cream, this was decadent and totally addictive. Chef Giacomo and our waiter Stefan were both very friendly and accommodating - I can totally see this being a place where the staff know the regulars by name. My party arrived right at opening on a slower day, so the wait times that others describe was not an issue. They buy their ingredients fresh each day and make pretty much everything in-house. It's probably a good thing that I don't live closer because I would be in here at least twice a week. Cafe Primavera should definitely be on your list of places to try in Fort Lauderdale!

I'm actually being generous by giving this 5 stars because the service is excruciating. That aside, on a street with 10 Italian restaurants, this is far and away the best one. It is a cozy place with only 10 tables and the food is fantastic. You simply cannot go wrong with any dish on the menu.

So delicious! Each meal is made by order. One guy, the owner, cooking for a full room. Sit back, enjoy your wine and do not get in a rush.
