Alexanders, an old favorite, is now a seemingly "wannabe high end" restaurant but is only "high end " when it comes to prices. Order a salad, add an appertizer and glass of cheap wine and expect a $50 bill plus an expected $10 tip. Have the ribs and add another $14 plus tip for a $77 tab. However, the service and food have not improved at the same rate as the prices, serving up a very ambivalent bar staff that you have to beg for water and anything other then your original order including begging for a second "tiny" glass of wine. I recognize that many have raised prices but interestingly it appears the McDonalds - Alexanders have increased prices at a much more aggressive pace than the Capitol grilles etc. I'll go back to Capitol Grille, it seems like they are used to providing decent food and good service consistent of what they charge for...

Loved this place Cat was our server, great service not only by Cat, but everyone that walked by would take an empty plate etc.,the minute it was supposed to be picked up.The staff worked as a team, I haven't seen in a long time. The atmosphere is dark, which is very relaxing. We arrived at 545 and it was full on Saturday. It was way to cold in there, I'm glad I brought a sweater, it seemed like 60 when we arrived, in the lobby.FOODWe would return again and againLoved the deviled eggs and meatloafThe lobster Mac and cheese could have had more flavor but good though. There fish fryer was getting repaired so some items were not available. Very nice to have ample parking.Great Job!

I had dinner as a part of a group of 5. I'm not a big fan anymore. Overpriced food in a standard chain atmosphere. We shared a Mia Kai salad, which was very good. Then, most of us had Veggie Burgers. I didn't like the consistency of the burger and the spiciness. Everyone enjoyed the cabbage side, and I did enjoy the spaghetti squash. The service was nice but nothing special and not too attentive. Again, the menu is overpriced for this chain restaurant.

We had a reservation and we sat right away. Although they sat us right by the bar (not the greatest table) we still managed to enjoy ourselves.

I have been coming to J. Alexander's since its opening over three decades ago when they used to serve thick, delicious Haagen Dazs milkshakes made to perfection. Those days are long gone but the place is still run like a tight ship thanks to great managers like Clint and YanelleThey are both class acts and really understand the true meaning of "customer service" Yanelle will always make things right for the customer. She is articulate, knowledgeable, intelligent, hard working and has a remarkable personality. She truly cares about her patrons and it certainly shows. Her goal is to make sure you leave with a smile on your face and thanks to her I certainly didThe server who originally took my order was Daniel who was very nice but I suppose he left because someone else took over my table.Ryan was another server who answered many of my questions even though he wasn't actually my server . He took the time to come over and show me a dish that he was about to bring to another table which I was considering ordering. He is also very knowledgeable and has a phenomenal personality as well ! He left a great impression on meI will certainly be coming back soon thanks to Clint, Yanelle, and Ryan. When you have top notch seasoned professionals running a restaurant like Yanelle, the service manager and the GM Clint you are sure to have an amazing experience. After all, it always starts from the TOPTry the :"not so ordinary mac n cheese" as a side dish , it will blow you away.
