The service was subpar; they served water with half-melted ice. I opted for a bottle instead, disappointed by the outset. Despite the empty venue, I persevered. The sushi was passable, but the inattentive server exacerbated the experience. Upon receiving the bill, I noticed an 18% gratuity added AFTER the server charged my card, unusual for a party of two. Unlikely to revisit this establishment.

Went here because the other place we were going to go was too busy. They have tables for both hibachi and regular menu items. We sat at the hibachi and really enjoyed the chef that cooked for us. She was entertaining, personable, and did a really nice job preparing our food. We had filet and shrimp, chicken and shrimp, and shrimp dinners. All of them tasted really good and the chef did not drown the food with soy sauce as some other hibachi places do. It was nice to go into a restaurant where you could actually hear yourself talk because music wasn't so loud like other places in Fort Lauderdale. One note of caution is they charged us a gratuity for five people, not sure if that is customary and not a big deal as I would have tipped anyhow but wasn't told there was a gratuity on the bill.

Can I just say how shocked I am this place is even allowed to open? I highly urge any new or future guests to read this long review.First off I have been coming to this restaurant as a patron for a little over a year. Always saw at a table for one get some apps, drinking $17 hot sale at the table while the empty bar serves $9 hot sake. But I wanted to sit outside so I paid it. Enjoyed my time, my bill was always expensive but never paid any attention to the bill.(Might I add the servers i have dined with have all been great!)But here’s where it blows my mind….I decide to apply for the bartending job and was hired. I was excited, cool I get to work for a place I already know.Day: 1(not my style of how things should be but I’ll just be the best I can be)Day 2: HOLY COW!!!!I discover that not only does this place charge an 18% service fee automatically, they tack on an additional 3% credit card processing fee.So, of course I’m shocked but so what lots of placing are doing crazy things like this. What got me was when I discovered (at least the bartenders) are adding the 3% service fee even if you pay cash. So, I get flustered and I’m just like what the heck do I do. I’m new no one’s going to listen to me. I take a moment have a talk with my new manager and go back to work.BUT WAIT THIS STORY GETS HEART BREAKING….A patron who I served, being new, ask and confirmed with a bartender if we could replace the liquor in a cocktail and still get the same happy hour price. I relayed to the guest after getting confirmation, yes.Long story short the lady closes out, and is still hanging at the bar. I’m attending to other tasks but I notice commotion. At some point in this quiet issue. My new manager asks to use MY phone. I let her, only to discover she was calling to cops on this lady to trespass her….FOR WANTING A PRICE CORRECTION ON A DRINK I SAID YES IT IS ON HAPPY HOUR TO!!!!I became furious and wanted to scream. I walked over to the lady and asked her what’s wrong. She became angry with me I told her she was right that is what I promised her and am deeply sorry for this issue that we have created for you. I had to apologize for my mangers decision to make an enemy out of a guest versus treating you like family. I gave her my number and promised I would escalate this matter. But apparently no one cares.I am sorry to the lady that experienced that terrible hospitality. And know I walked out right after you.

I just went to Red Door for the first time for their Happy Hour just ordered a few appetizers. The sushi was good but the customer service was terrible! They over charged me for a martini and refused to adjust the bill! The miscommunication happened when one of their named Alexis quoted me the wrong price. Instead of a Happy Hour drink that was supposed to be $10 ended up costing me $17! He told the bartender that I wanted Tito’s which I never requested. When I spoke to the manager she said that she would adjust it but didn’t! An additional 18% gratuity was also added automatically. I normally tip 25% but because I was lied to by management I would’ve left a tip. I would never go back to an establishment that tricks their customers! Very bad experience!

Did not appreciate the aggressive, violent rap music playing. I have children.

I went here for my birthday, and I had such a pleasant experience. Crystal is the best!!!! She was so friendly and entertaining, and she made us laugh and enjoy our experience. She also did an incredible job at remembering everyone's orders and allergy restrictions. We had steak, chicken and shrimp, and Crystal customized a spicy sauce for me. Delicious!!! I will be back for my next celebration for sure.

Deeply Troubling Service Experience at Red Door Asian BistroMy recent visit to Red Door Asian Bistro was marred by an incident that I find deeply concerning, both in terms of guest treatment and professional conduct.Picture the manager moving your date from her spacious corner seat that you arrived early to procure and replacing her with a much larger woman who shows up 10 minutes after you've ordered and wants your date's seat. Except it wasn't the new woman's idea to take her seat, instead it was the manager who graciously offered up her seat to the newcomer and began to move your date's belongings to the middle seat next to a mother and her 2 small kids -- without ever asking if it was okay first (it was not okay).Luckily the woman felt so uncomfortable imposing that she volunteered to sit elsewhere (there were countless other seats available -- but only 1 at our table.) So instead of waiting for the next table and seating her there, (or at the bar, or at any of the non hibachi tables) she picks up my date's purse and moves it to the cramped middle seat so the larger woman can enjoy the more spacious corner seat we'd shown up early to secure. We would have sat at the bar had we known our accommodations would be given away)The subsequent interaction with the manager regarding this unorthodox request was equally troubling. Not only was there a lack of accountability for the initial overstep, but the situation escalated to the point where I felt unjustly threatened with police involvement over unfounded allegations. This level of confrontation and the insinuation of criminality in response to a reasonable inquiry about guest treatment is both unacceptable and unethical. This experience has left me with serious concerns about the management practices at Red Door Asian Bistro. Hospitality is rooted in making guests feel welcomed and respected, a standard that was not met during my visit. My intention in sharing this feedback is to highlight the need for a thorough review of customer service protocols and management training to prevent such incidents in the future.Update: When I called seeking the manager's name for a formal complaint, my inquiry was dismissed, and I was hastily hung up on. This lack of transparency and accountability only compounds the dissatisfaction with my initial visit. It's disheartening to witness what appears to be a concerted effort to shield management from accountability, leaving customers feeling disregarded.Since I couldn't get her name I will leave a description of her: black / female / approx 29 years old / 5'9 / 150 lbs
