Sasaya Japanese Market in Fort Lauderdale has been a staple in our dining and shopping routine for years. For anyone with a penchant for Japanese cuisine, this market comes highly recommended. The variety and authenticity of the offerings make it a true gem for enthusiasts and newcomers to Japanese food alike. One of the standout features of Sasaya is their sushi. Not only is it delicious, but it's also offered at a reasonable price, making it accessible for regular indulgence. Absolutely love this spot. It’s our go-to local take out spot. There’s no dine in. There’s a sushi chef in the back of a small two aisle Japanese supermarket that produces better sushi than most of the other spots in the area. Rolls are fresh, good portions, and taste the way it should. Plenty of parking in the lot although please note the lanes are one-way- plenty of people like to disregard this fact.

Our go to sushi place! We have also bought sushi supplies and other great Japanese products and treats. Friendly too! Recommendation: try the Akebono hand roll. Yum!

I was very excited to try this place again, but apparently it’s changed since the pandemic. Sushi is supposed to be made with rice vinegar but they only used regular rice. Very disappointing and not sushi ?

Considering how small the store is, the selection is outstanding. It's my go-to whenever I need glutinous rice flour around the holidays and one of the few places in all of South Florida where I can get frozen fish cakes. The tea set I got there has been serving me well for about a year now, too!

Sushi is supposed to be made with rice with vinegar however this wasn't, so in essence it's not considered sushi. Never ordering from here again. Very disappointed
