Coffee shop is adjacent to Edison/Ford summer home site. App directions sent me to locked gate at Ford/Edison properties.Parking: Plenty of pkg at 10 a.m. but a bit difficult to find. Beautiful setting.

So I was in the mood for a quick hot drink and sweet snack when Google suggested the Banyan Cafe. I had no idea it was the little food truck on the grounds of the Edison & Ford Estates. What a brilliant way to enjoy light refreshments under a banyan tree and take in all the sites!

My husband and I truly enjoyed the Edison and Ford Winter Estates! The buildings and grounds were beautiful, and the museum time-lining Ford and Edison's life of inventing was extremely interesting. We also learned so much about their families as well! Fantastic afternoon visit!

I came with HER Corporate (a working moms group) to Banyan Cafe a few weeks ago and I'm so glad I did. We were vision board planning for 2024 and it was the most perfect atmosphere! It can be confusing to find the place because it's located outdoors right in the middle of Edison & Ford Winter Estates. They open at 9am unless they state otherwise. It seems like they frequently update their Facebook and Instagram when they change their hours. I love that it's run by a mother and daughter duo and they have freshly made baked goods as well as delicious coffee. They have plenty of seating and there is an awning over some tables and umbrellas over others. Stop by, you won't regret it! It's so peaceful coming here and they even have a garden center next door. It's a perfect place to grab a coffee and walk!

The coffee was meh. Mocha latte was too sweet. Should be a balance of deep coffee taste with some mocha. Maybe I should have detailed my order but just assumed they're made all the same. Beautiful surroundings but no need to return.

I'll be honest. The Edison/Ford estate is some place I knew we should visit, but I wasn't chomping at the bit to go. With out-of-town visitors, I subscribed to the adage, 'no better time than now.' And boy, am I happy we went. I'm also glad that my friends insisted on the docent-led tour. Our guide, Dave W., was a wealth of information. And funny! I now know that palm 'trees' aren't trees. Who would think they're classified as grass! Curiously, Edison was 90% deaf; he and his wife Mina communicated by Morse code. Interesting, particularly when you consider he invented the phonograph! The grounds are spectacular. You can peek into the homes. Edison's "electroliers" are gorgeous. His lab, extensive. No denying that the men were geniuses. Also no denying their antisemitism. If you're in Fort Myers, make time to visit. The earlier you arrive, the fewer crowds you'll encounter. $30 a person, including the tour.

A great tour where you step back in time. Came with family and we all enjoyed the grounds and the tour!

Great drinks and even greater service. Make sure to ask for Sarah to make your drinks if you can!

Whoever knew that Thomas Edison and Henry Ford were friends?! AND that they bought homes all but side-by-side in Fort Myers?! AND that those homes and grounds have been turned into a *totally* reasonably priced - and fascinating - tourist attraction! The botanical gardens, the history, their *innovations* (like a camper-car and a calliope car) would be right there to see (but not touch)! Parking was plentiful, I've never seen such CLEAN bathrooms, and the GIFT SHOP had something for everyone! Bamboo, huge Kapok tree, numerous giant Banyan trees, stag horn ferns: but my favorite was the "Edison Light Bulb Flower" - SO cool! We took the guided tour (only $5 more than the $25 price of admission) and it was money SO well spent! We learned how two homes were built as mirror images (why pay for 2 different floor plans when they can be mirror images). About one of the first swimming pools and how the efficient water system worked. About the paving of the road and planting of palm trees all along the paved roads. Truly a destination to be re-visited!

Banyan Cafe is a super cute coffee shop housed on one of the most beautiful spots in Ft Myers. Coffee is always good with lots of flavor choices and the girls on staff are total sweethearts. We always get our coffee when we are near the Edison and Ford Winter Estates.

Had an americano and an apple pecan blondie. Absolutely delicious coffee and dessert. Service was impeccable. And there is a delightful area to enjoy your treat. It's on the grounds of the Edison & Ford estates, but you do not need admission or have to pay to park to enjoy this place.

It's a lovely way to spend an evening around the holidays. Lights are everywhere and a musical Christmas tree provides entertainment. They have hot cocoa and cookies if you need a treat. Learn about Edison & Ford as well as Fort Myers history.

I think it is disrespectful they only offer military discount to active duty. I served in over sea have my combat action badge this is very disrespectful to all who have fought for this country
