I'd heard about this restaurant from multiple people, however if I compare it to other hibachi or Japanese steakhouses, this one is average. The service was friendly and fast. Started off with a salad, which had too much dressing. The miso soup was good. The chef was funny but the food he cooked was not great. The rice was not tender and everything was bland, even though he mixed in lots of different sauces. The meat was cooked well, but again very bland. The yum yum sauce and ginger sauce only helped a little but I was expecting better flavors and better food. The restaurant itself was nice and again the staff was great, but I would not return for a meal.

The food is good, the prices are reasonable, the chef we had was amazing. We went there twice so far, both times for birthdays. The chef was wonderful with the kids. We have allergies in our family and they were very attentive. The salad, the soup, and the main entree were not too salty, and full of flavor.Dietary restrictions: Accommodated our allergies to egg, dairy, fish, and nuts.Kid-friendliness: We've been there twice for kids birthdays, a 12-year-old birthday, and another 12-year-old's birthday. As a family birthday party.

Our whole family just loves eating at Kumo, it's fun. Great food and service. We've tried hibachi Salmon, Chicken and Calamari, Tuna, Steak and everything has always been just perfect. Highly recommended.

The lady severing us was very kind. But the gentleman doing our hibachi not good at all. Not only did he just assume we wanted our meal burnt he use an obsessive amount of teriyaki sauce on everything as well as adding in their Yum Yum sauce into our rice, causing me to not be able to eat it although I have eaten here many times throughout the year and no one has ever just straight up. Poor yummy Yum sauce in the rice. So i was only able to eat my small portion of steak and scallops the veggies tasted burnt so i skipped those too our bill was 180 and i got to eat maybe 50 dollars worth of food and that’s aiming high. I will not be going back thank you for ruin one of our favorite restaurants.
Absolutely terrible experience!! Our hibachi chef did not do one trick or make any jokes the entire time. He would not even talk to us. Additionally, the food was not good at all and very undercooked. I would not recommend this place to anyone! Super disappointed in our experience since we live so close but will definitely make the trip to the Cape Coral one as we have had such a better experience many times there!!

I had a 10% coupon published from the Yelp site, but Kumo refused to honor it. You get the coupon if you let them know you are at the restaurant then, so they know you are a "helper". But, the restaurant manager refused to honor it saying it was from the Ft. Myers location even though it was the Cape Coral site. It all seemed VERY tricky to me over 10%. I don't need the 10%, but do not like to be cheated. Food was OK for this type, nothing special. Chef GiGi is an exception - he was a great showman.

My wife and I stopped in to have lunch at one of the regular tables. When we first walked in the smell of bleach was overwhelming to us both, and I actually like clean8ng with bleach. We sat for a good amount of time without being greeted by a server. Based on the bleach smell and lack of contact with a server we decided it was time to depart. Maybe we picked a bad day for them with staffing. Scores are based on this one attempted to eat at this location. Other Kumo locations have provided a great experience in the past.

An hour after our reservation. Our reservation was at 6 pm. Here it is 650 and nothing.Everyone else who had a 6 reservation are done eating. And we said something and they just looked at us and said 5 minutes. Here it is 10 minutes later.
