We've got Fort Myers' top Mexican restaurants covered for you. Try the best Street Tacos, Tacos Al Pastor, Chicken Quesadilla, and more in town.
“We tried El Local for the first time last night and it was excellent authentic Mexican food. It’s hard to find chilaquiles outside the Southwest so that was my first choice and they were excellent. My wife said the shrimp tacos on blue corn tortillas were the best she ever had. The prices were very reasonable.“
“Stopped by here today for the first time as the other reviews looked good. Our office had the Al pastor , Birria, Chorizo, pollo and the Asada tacos. The green and dipping sauces are very good, fare warning if you can’t handle spicey then don’t get the red one, if you can then definitely get it! Really good flavoring . In order of what I’d recommend trying is the birria, al pastor , chorizo, steak and chicken last. The chicken pieces did seem a little too chewy for the few of us that tried it . Over all this spot is very reasonably priced if you’re looking for a super quick and tasty bite to eat.“
“Best kept secret & best Mexican food, just like South Texas valley. I highly recommend. You won’t be disappointed. Take it to go! YUMM!! Barbacoa tacos & carne asada tortas are favorites. God bless!!! Support this small business :)“
“this place has the best tacos and burritos in the state! if you love mexican food this place blows chipotle and all competition out of the water. Shout out to Dylan and Halle for exceptional service and making this place a must visit, they definitely deserve a raise!“
“We stopped in for the first time here on our trip to Florida. The tacos were absolutely excellent. I tried 3 different types of tacos and they were all vary good. Our waiter was helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. We will definitely stop here again when we are back in town. I'd definitely recommend for you to stop and eat here too!!!“
“The food was very good I don’t like everything but this food was made fresh and very good I enjoyed it all I ate my whole plate which is very rare .. yes I would go again … thanking my friends for allowing me to be apart They made this a very special day for me even though they’ve been here before … the people were nice too … food came out hot just the way I like it .. lol“
“Quality of everything was great the service was well also. The manager Dominick made you feel at home and was sure that you git your moneys worth. Totally recommend and would go again.Vegetarian options: They have many things and options that are well even without the meat. The chips are great as a standalone and the seasoned rice is also swell. One could order beans and vegetable toppings if they wish.Dietary restrictions: They offer many options that would be ideal for one who is on a diet. They provide multiple protein options and many things that are calorie dense.“
“Little hidden gem in this strip mall. Authentic Mexican tacos finally at a great price. Everything we got was delicious, I could’ve kept eating haha. The choriqueso dip was amazing!! I can’t wait to come back and try more, everything on the menu looked delicious! Our food came out quickly too. They have indoor seating, and limited outdoor seating in front of the restaurant“
“I had a great experience here. I came in around 11 am and ordered a little over $100 worth of food. They ran out of chorizo for the chorizo queso and let me know immediately. It was ok queso was find to switch to- but the gentlemen working went and got more which was above and beyond. The food was delicious and hot! I did not have to wait long either which was nice! The only feedback I would give is maybe larger portion sizes :)“
“Went in today for lunch with my husband. It was his first time here and Alex helped him pick out a good choice. Thank you Alex. We will be back. It was nice and clean. Good music to eat to as well.Vegetarian options: GoodParking: GoodKid-friendliness: GreatWheelchair accessibility: Good“
“Locals place, and mostly frequented by Latin folks looking for a taste of home, which is always a good sign in a place like this. The tacos were a little over-seasoned and a bit salty, but otherwise first rate. Seat yourself, and grab a beer or other beverage out of the racks before you sit down. That's the process. ? Enjoy!“
“We were shocked to find out that you couldn't just walk in and wait for a table. They seem to be by reservation only. We understood why once we ate their food! We ended up getting take out... everything was fantastic! The fajitas mixas was my favorite! Loved the shrimp tacos but I would've personally preferred for tortillas. Although, for someone who doesn't like corn tortillas at all, these were actually pretty good. The portion sizes were huge! I felt like my fajitas could've fed our whole family of 6!“
“Very nice spot with incredibly amazing food!!Went over there with my friend we ended up ordering 3 more plates than what we initially ordered because they were soo good!! The quesabirria is amazing!! Best in town!La comida super rica, precios cómodos y servicio increíble. Tienen que probarlos si andan en el area.“
“My partner and I went to Tequila’s together for lunch. We’ve been looking for a new “usual” spot for Mexican food, and I’m really glad we have this place a chance! When I first tried their chips and two salsas, I was like, “This is going to be a good meal. I can already tell.”Food: We ordered things we knew we liked so we could see if the quality was there. I got the steak fajitas and burrito special. We were very happy, as it was authentic, homemade, well-plated, and perfectly portioned. I’ve never had fajitas quite like that before: meat and veg combined all together in a tasty sauce. Everything was cooked to order. Superb! ?We had a side of mole to try and flavor was on point. A little thin, but spot-on flavor. Their guacamole is on my top 3!For dessert, we had the tres leches cake (my #1 fave) and it was delicious. It had the perfect crumb texture and was neither too wet or too dry. The whipped cream was a little gummy, but all in all, it was delicious. ?Service: The host was friendly and prompt. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and very accommodating. Food came out in about 20 minutes, fresh as could be. I wish we had gotten a few more drinks throughout our meal, though.Atmosphere: The atmosphere was very nice, so comfortable. It wasn’t too busy, staff were cheerful, and traditional music was quiet but enjoyable. The booth seats were comfortable and the high backs allowed for privacy.Allergies: I’m a disabled person with several allergies and sensitivities, so dining out can be frustrating. Tequila’s was very accommodating.✨This is the first time in months that I have left a restaurant without feeling sick.✨ I’m so grateful I could cry. Thank you Tequila’s for making my weekend unforgettable! My only regret is not taking pictures.Dietary restrictions: I have a shellfish allergy with sensitivities to gluten, dairy, eggs, nuts, and garlic.✨This is the first time in about 4 months that I have left a restaurant without feeling sick.✨Parking: Front of the building dedicated to the disabled, with additional parking on all sides of the building.“
“Great little find on our drive down to Naples. Stopped to get some food on the way and boy did we find the jackpot! Customer service was so nice, spoke both English and Spanish. Food came out very quick, the quality and taste was 10/10. Cute, small little place. Will be back on our next trip down!“
“Stopped in here tonight to grab a Coke and to my surprise they had the Coke in a glass bottle (the BEST kind there is) && warm churro chips that were amazing!!! Colin helped explain the menu and gave us some awesome recommendations to try next time, as we had already had dinner tonight but will DEFINITELY be back since the customer service and snacks were great! Also Colin let us know they are now open until 3 AM on Fridays & Saturdays making them the ONLY place to get food on the weekends after 2 AM in Down Town Fort Myers ??“
“Three letters.. W O W!The nachos were absolutely delicious piled high with everything and fresh is an understatement. The white queso was my favorite part, lol. Highly recommend the shredded beef on the nachos, just works great. The hardshell beef tacos were absolutely amazing. The beef has such a flavor I've never had it made my tacos the best I've ever had. There was plenty as the beef the fell out I used the complimentary tortilla chips to finish it off. The fresh, crunchy seasoned tortillas are superb. The salsa though... Forget Chili's, forget about chipotle or any of the mom and pop places or food trucks... Their salsa is hands down the best around swfl.Seriously, take the trip down to Gulf Coast town center and stop by for lunch or dinner. I tasted the other things in our party as well and it was terrific. You will not be disappointed. I'm a little upset I haven't been here sooner. We were given a gift card and decided to try it out. We will definitely be returning very soon. They take tex mex to a whole new level in swfl. The have tequila too, lol.7 out of 5 stars!“
“This is where you come when you want home cooked food. It feels like I went to visit my friends mom and just sat in her dinning room. The family that owns this place are so sweet. This is NOT tex mex! This is Mexican food and it's delicious ?Dietary restrictions: I am gluten free and my partner is vegan. We stuffed our faces“
“Excellent lunch for the 3 of us. Would recommend this little family owned restaurant to everyone. Homemade taco shells and a nice little homemade hot sauce to go with them. Wife got Fiesta Plate that was large enough to put her to sleep. Would definitely come back. Thank you Rosa.“
“The food was great. My husband saw another table eating something and asked what they were having - Caldo de Mariscos. It was a hot temperature seafood soup as well as a bit spicy. It came in a large bowl with shrimp, octopus and fish along with lots of veggies and a side of cilantro, onions and limes. Good thing he was hungry, it was as big enough for two. He loved it. I had a chicken burrito - which was very good. When I'm up this way again, I'll be stopping by. Definitely check this place out.“
“I haven't been able to say 'whatta deal' about restaurants since moving to FL. That is, until Sunday. Whatta deal! Iguana Mia's $39.99 weekend special includes steak and/or chicken fajitas for two, a choice of queso or guacamole, and a pitcher of margaritas, sangria or soda. Everything was deeee-lish! Did I mention all this for $39.99?! Chips are served warm with a carousel of chunky salsa, pico de gallo and two other spreads. If none of those suit you, reach for the squirt bottles and try six other dips. You get a good-sized serving of guacamole that appears to be freshly made. Specify either mild or spicy. If you don't want chicken or beef fajitas, pay $4 per person extra, and upgrade to shrimp. Beef was marinated, but somewhat chewy. Strips of white meat chicken -- served btw on a sizzling platter -- perfect! Plates come with tortillas, rice (your choice of yellow or Mexican), beans (black or pinto) and other accoutrements. Our full liter of margaritas was fruity and potent. Just as I like it! The restaurant's decor reminded me of a Frida Kahlo painting. So there you have it: great food, a responsive server and a folksy setting.“
“OK, so , 1st time here , right off the bat , I wasn't expecting top notch service because it's a chain .. walked in , An amazing young man greeted us with a vibe that was beyond positive , like a Fiance just said yes to marrying him ... supper happy , positive and energetic ... his name was Tristan ...Then we sat outside to eat , got several different things .. everything is super fresh and taste like someone cares about you made the food ... we will definitely be back minimum once a month .... thank you all for running this place the way you do ... really Really happy new permanent customers here ...Parking: Simple easy parkingKid-friendliness: Energetic super friendly employees , music playing had kids dancing with their mom while here .. ( we sat outdoors )Wheelchair accessibility: Easy and direct“
“The Mexican torta is amazing! The quesadilla de asada are also to die for! Great flavor ! Only thing is , try to get a seat away from the speakers , for the music is super loud ? other than that, super great place for authentic Mexican food ?“
“Rolled into this strip of establishments with a longing for seafood market. The place was closed so we decided to give this a try and damn was it good. Love boat ain't got nothing that this place doesn't. 36 whole ass flavors that undercut the price of the competition. Great way to top off a night at the seafood market. Only complaint is the flies that were buzzing around as me and my family walked in the door. Definitely a hidden gem, will be returning to this place in the near future.“
“We had the best waiter. Eduardo "Eddie" was able to help us order by answering all of our questions about each item on the menu. He was also entertaining, especially after we told him that he reminded us of Bad Bunny with his cool glasses and Cuban accent (not PR).We had a great dinner at T&T! ❤️“
“The location is weird. When I went there they were working on the street so I had to drive down the turn around and that’s not the point. The tacos were okay. I had these a few months ago so the taste is not that fresh in my mind. It’s also not standing out either. I think I paid the most I ever paid for tacos from this spot. There was a language barrier so I’m not sure what happened.“
“My favorite taco place! Right off Palm beach Blvd. Their green sauce is to die for, has a kick that no other place can compare. Service is always awesome, quick, and gracious. I come probably twice a week at this point after trying other trucks in the area, this is by far the best in Fort Myers.“
“Visited in October 2022. Fruit waters and smoothies are fantastic and also got what looked like a quart size container of mixed fruits like mango, strawberries and pineapple which was so delicious and refreshing. Everything else looked fantastic too. Can't wait to go back.“
“The girl working here is extremely nice and patient. Food was delicious. A big thank you to the person on the phone in charge telling me to stay here and they would remake my food instead of me having to drive over to the correct address. (I accidentally ordered at a different location and went to this one) The girl working made my food super quick considering how last minute this all was for her.“
“I'm not even 100% sure what I had, but I ordered what ever beef and cheese tacos were on the side of the truck from the lovely young lady and they were LEGIT the best I've ever had. A little pricey for size and portion but again, 10/10 do I don't care. Worth every penny. Muchas gracias!!“
“The best kept secret in Fort Myers for Mexican food delicacy. Wow is my final word! I like small pop and dad spots where the unique culture of the country has been expressed through generations. This places meets all of those requirement and also is pocket friendly. I had the papaya shake about 64 ounces of pure natural fruit for around 4 bucks. Everything else goes for less than 10 bucks freshly made every day. I wish I had more time because it well deserves the compliments but I have to go to work. It is a must have if you are in FT myers looking for Mexican home made food in. Keep it humble when you come it's not a humongous or too fancy. Just a well kept secret that only locals will get to enjoy!“
“The food was not as good as what the reviews claimed. The steak fajitas portion were huge, but the meat was tough. The tostadas were good. I was expecting more flavour, not American-Mexican. The staff and atmosphere really made us feel welcome. Our server Krystal was awesome!!“
