I love this place! Great food! not one of those chain restaurants. Had the coconut shrimp and fish. Grand daughter had shrimp and gator bites.

The food is delicious and is consistently good every time I eat there. The staff is friendly and efficient. There's something on the menu for everyone. I love the shrimp. There is a large outdoor patio with umbrella covered tables. I strongly recommend this place.

I stopped by here for dinner a couple of Saturdays ago with my family. We were planning to head from Cape Coral to Fort Meyers Beach for a picnic and sunset and I wanted to pick up some food up in-between. So whenever I looked at some maps I found Salty Papas Shrimp House. After looking at the menu I placed a to go order and chose the coconut fried chicken with broccoli and sweet potato fries as my sides while my wife went with the key west shrimp bowl. We were told that it would take 15-20 minutes and whenever we arrived a half an hour later our food was ready. The menu described my meal as Boneless white breast floured and coated with coconut, fried golden brown, side pina colada sauce and my wife's as Black beans, corn relish with fresh tomatoes and onions, topped with real Gulf shrimp sautéed in butter and fresh lime juice, with a side of our bakery garlic bread. By the time I got to the beach and opened up my food it was clear that it had been sitting for awhile. I say that because the chicken wasn't too crispy and the sweet potato fries were incredibly floppy. However I won't hold that against Salty Papas as it was likely my own fault. The chicken itself ended up being chicken fingers with a coconut shrimp type breading on it. It wasn't what I was picturing exactly but then again I don't know what I was expecting. The breading itself was decent enough and I think the chicken was cooked well but by themselves it just wasn't doing much for me. Thankfully the side pina colada sauce was delicious and what I ended up dipping both my chicken and fries into. As for the broccoli, for some reason it reminded me of the flavor of broccoli soup. That's not a bad thing for me as I loved it and ate them all but it's not something I have ever associated with a side of broccoli before. The bottom line for me is that I might stop by here again in the future. Our food was decent and I am positive that my wife enjoyed hers, but for whatever reason, this meal just wasn't one of my favorites.

I was with a party of twenty for lunch. We had reservations, and upon arrival we were seated immediately. The service was great, food was hot and glasses never ran empty. Between the twenty of us, I believe every dish on menu was sampled. No complaints just full bellies and smiles. Being a Florida resident, I am always asked by visitors for a recommendation on a restaurant. Salty Papas is hands down my recommendation from here on out.

Had a great dinner at Salty Papa's. The gumbo was phenomenal and the chicken and waffles was both delicious and a very generous portion. Service was crazy fast and very friendly. If not for such a short stay in Ft. Myers, would have gone back for a second helping.

Food: what's not pictured here is the fried green tomatoes. Great start for an appetizer. Next course is the chicken n gritz. This is my first time ever having chicken n grits as normally I would have shrimp. This dish had the perfect Charleston/nawleans kick to it. You can also order it in a ghost pepper sauce....maybe next time. The dessert was keylime pie. I don't think it was supposed to come out frozen. Most usually come out thawed out. So this time around it was more so ice cream then a fresh slice of keylime pie.Service: our waitress was good. A lil pushy as she came over twice when I still wasn't done with my plate and kept asking if we wanted dessert. Also I guess the staff is required to leave a "my name is.." sign with a colored in sea creature on the table. She also left a bookmark of jorts in the receipt book saying have a nice day.Atmosphere: looks boathouse like....to the likes of shrimp shack. The table covers are big sheets of paper so little kids can keep busy and color.

My wife and I came for a casual lunch. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We had the hog fish and cast iron skillet chicken. Also, we had a mud puppy for dessert. All the dishes were well prepared and very delicious.

We were in Salty Papa’s Shrimp House about 5 times over a 2 week period. My husband and I love this place! Joe is the manager and he and the staff treat us like we are the only people there. They are attentive and kind, food is very good, and you feel good when you leave. Love this place. We’ve always made this our go to spot when we pop into Ft Myers for a couple weeks at a time. Good food, good people.

Salty Papa's Shrimp House in Fort Myers, Florida is an absolute gem of a seafood restaurant. From the moment you step through the door, you're greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that strikes the perfect balance between casual and fast-paced.Let's talk about their star dish, the shrimp and grits. It's nothing short of a culinary masterpiece. The shrimp are always impeccably fresh, plump, and succulent, bursting with that unmistakable taste of the sea. But it's the grits that steal the show here - creamy, buttery, and seasoned to perfection, they serve as the perfect canvas for the tender shrimp. What truly sets Salty Papa's apart, though, is the dedication to quality. You can taste the freshness in every bite. The staff is attentive and friendly, making you feel right at home. It's the kind of place where you can enjoy a fantastic meal without any pretense. The atmosphere is a delightful mix of relaxed and bustling. Whether you're dining solo or with a group of friends, you'll find the vibe here to be energetic yet unpretentious. It's the ideal spot for a quick lunch or a leisurely dinner, and the service is consistently speedy without sacrificing quality.

I visited this restaurant obviously after the lunch rush. There weren't many people there. But I think that was good for me. I ordered the shrimp and grits. They packed a half pound of shrimp on that bowl and let me tell you it was delicious. The cheese grits, the perfectly cooked shrimp, the sauce with the Andouille sausage and veggies and OMG the amount of food on the plate!!!! So Good!!! Next time I'm in town you can bet that I'll be back. My only conundrum is whether to order the shrimp and grits again or try something new. Oh and the garlic bread as a side was phenomenal.
