I've been following the Smallcakes of Fort Myers Facebook page for a couple of weeks now. I believe in supporting small businesses, even if it's just sharing posts. I was scrolling a couple of days and came across one of their posts, with the cupcake specials of the day. My daughter and I love Italian rainbow cookies. They had a rainbow cookie cupcake as a special of the day. We decided to finally stop by the shop and take home a few different types. I'm going to have to say these are probably some of the best cupcakes that we have ever had.*The Italian Rainbow Cake is 3 layers of almond sponge cake, filled with raspberry jam, topped with chocolate ganache, Italian rainbow cookie, and sprinkles.*The Cannoli is a vanilla bean cupcake with chocolate chips, topped with cream cheese buttercream, chocolate, and a cannoli.*The Chocolate Cream is a chocolate cake filled with buttercream topped with fudge frosting and buttercream. *The Lemon Drop is a lemon cake filled with lemon curd, topped with lemon buttercream and lemon curd.If I could give them more stars for their rating, I would in a heartbeat!!

Unsatisfactory service and no resolution to fix issue with custom order. Cheesecake color was way off, not as I selected, cake was cracked, bland and dry. Manager refused to speak directly to me, clerk wasn’t permitted to give me a refund but offered to shave off frosting and hand the same cake back to me! My event was ruined, customer service is awful here. Clerks look lost and whispers in the back room on phone with owner then does nothing. Pictured cake was supposed to match their cupcakes but as you see the colors aren’t these same. Also, purple was supposed to be dark, Oreo cheesecake taste like they used the generic brand Oreo cookies! Cake was overpriced and just trash!

Amazing decorating and taste! They were able to make a 7” two layer custom cake in 5 days for us. We asked for no fondant, buttercream icing, lemon filling, and a floral design. They asked for a few pictures for inspiration to get an idea of what we wanted. After we had a good conversation we agreed on some real flowers on top, decorated flowers on the side, lemon curd filling, and butter cream frosting. What they delivered was nothing short of perfect. It felt too pretty to cut. The icing was amazing. The cake was nice and soft, the filling between layers was an amazing lemon curd. The price was also very reasonable for the amount of work and decorating they did. Only thing I would tweak is to ask them in the future if they could cut the layers in half and add more filling.
