The only problem there is that the spoons, knives and forks are made of iron (rewashed after each use) and not plastic or cardboard for health reasons.

Gator Dining food is mediocre at best, and it has gotten shockingly expensive for an on-campus dining hall for students. I definitely do NOT recommend getting the meal plan. You have to eat 3 meals a day here to make it worth it, and I promise you'll get sick of it. Stations are frequently closed, and the parts that actually have decent food usually have a wait. It has standard cafeteria vibes, and is always a bit greasy feeling. The one thing I'd say this place is great for is if you need to pull a study marathon. You can come in the morning and pay one price for a full day of food as you get your work done. Especially when libraries are packed during finals, this is a great option.

A Culinary Surprise in a School Cafeteria: Aveon's Burger Brilliance at Gator CornerIt was an ordinary weekday when I found myself wandering into Gator Corner Dining Center, a school cafeteria known for its buffet-style offerings and bustling atmosphere. I was prepared for the standard fare one typically expects from a school dining hall. However, fate had other plans, as I discovered the exceptional burger window manned by Aveon, a chef who defied the ordinary and brought gourmet flair to the humble school cafeteria.Aveon, an enthusiastic and affable presence behind the burger window, attracted students with amazing grilling skills. His passion for crafting delicious burgers was palpable, and it was clear that he took great pride in his work. The star of his window? The Aveon Burger, an unassuming gem that stood out amidst the school cafeteria's more typical offerings.Upon receiving my Aveon Burger, I was immediately struck by its presentation. Despite the constraints of a cafeteria environment, the burger was well-assembled and visually appealing. The first bite confirmed that this was no ordinary cafeteria burger. The bun was soft and fresh, a perfect vessel for the flavors within. The beef patty was seasoned to perfection and cooked to a juicy medium, a delightful surprise in a school dining setting. The simple yet effective seasoning allowed the quality of the beef to shine through, reminding me that sometimes, less is indeed more.I selected the toppings to enhance the burger's overall taste. Crisp lettuce, juicy tomatoes, and thinly sliced red onion provided a refreshing contrast to the rich patty, while the melted cheese added a touch of indulgence. Though no special sauce was present, the balance of flavors was so expertly executed that I didn't miss it.As I enjoyed each bite, I marveled at how Aveon had managed to elevate a simple cafeteria burger to something truly memorable. His dedication to his craft was evident in every aspect of the burger, from the quality ingredients to the thoughtful grilling. In conclusion, the Aveon Burger at Gator Corner Dining Center's burger window is a delightful surprise that defies expectations and proves that gourmet experiences can be found in the most unexpected places. If you find yourself at Gator Corner, don't miss the chance to try Aveon's creation—it's a testament to what passion, skill, and attention to detail can achieve, even in a school cafeteria setting.

Some food is a hit some is a miss. The things served daily such as pizza are usually consistent but sometimes the other food is just subpar.

As a student at the University of Florida I am dissapointed in our dining options. Many students prefer this dining hall over Fresh Food Company near Broward Hall, but I find it lacks variety (unless you enjoy overcooked pasta with peas, pizza made with cheddar cheese, and school lunch burgers). There are a couple of home-cooked/healthy stations that usualy have: rice or potatoes, some sort of tough sliced meat, and a vegetable. Then you have the self-serve pizza station, the pasta corner, a panini station (honestly just call it a sandwhich, it gets barely gets warm in the panini press, let alone crispy), and the quintessential American food station (burgers, hotdogs, chicken tenders on occassion). Some days there are good options, but going from week to week waiting for a good meal is not how students up here should live! Especially those who are vegan or vegetarian... their options are EXTREMELY limited. Walking into the dining hall is always a dissapointment, but the feeling you get walking out of the building, still a bit hungry, is worse.

Mrs. Lucretia at the front is great. She remembers everyone's names even all of the students. But the food has gotten horrible. They switched companies from Aramark to Chartwell and the change is very noticeable. The oatmeal is salty asl everyday. We used to have bacon at least twice a week now no bacon. Use to have freshly made French toast now they give you French toast sticks that taste like cardboard. This food is the worse. We deserve better at the University of Florida. ?
