Great service & coffee, solid breakfast food

Nothing grand about it. First clue should have been the help sitting outside smoking. Second clue was the front entry is worn and decrepit and needs a cleaning and new paint. Third clue, walking inside, it did not smell like food. The coffee was vile. The food just OK and my friend never got the toast she ordered. The entire interior is junky and should be gutted and redone. At prime weekend breakfast hour, we were the only ones in there. (Though a few others were there by the time we left)

I honestly enjoyed it! The staff was very nice and friendly and it wasn't crowded or overwhelming like many breakfast places can get. I really liked the vibe of the place as it had a lot of character. The bacon was some of the best I've had in Gainesville! The pancakes were good as well. I would recommend as long as you're not expecting a 5 star restaurant.

Nice spot for Sunday brunch! The blueberry pancakes were warm and delicious. Great service and overall experience.

It's dirty. One of the dirtiest restaurants in gainesville. I'd they cleaned it up it would be much better. Food is ok, but nothing to write home about. Wish there was a good breakfast place downtown.

There was egg shell in my biscuit and gravy Service was really slow there was only 2 tables for Service. The waitress was very nice and was going to comp the meal but I said no because I had ate half of it already.

Great home cooked breakfast for great price. Blueberry pancakes and omelettes were delish!

The food was cheap and you got a large portion, plus the staff was very friendly. We ordered french toast which was good, and pancakes which tasted fine but the texture was a bit rubbery. However there was a bad odor in the restaurant and some used napkins on the floor by our table which made eating there unpleasant. Adding one star because the staff gave a man who was down on his luck some hot water to make his breakfast outside, which was very kind.

We had not one, but two roaches join us on the table for our fine dining experience.Food was good for the price but didn't seem to be hot enough for freshly cooked food and not worth enduring the cellar like environment. The restaurant also had a very distinct smell of burnt scraps and heavy dust.

I’m surprised the reviews are so high. Worst thing: This place is really dirty. The bathrooms were shockingly filthy with a giant dead roach to boot. It smelled like they go in the bathroom to smoke cigarettes too. It smells like a giant dust bowl in this restaurant. The food was bland and their vegetables taste like they’re from a can.The people that work there are very nice and I hope they can improve over time. I wanted to give this local business a fair review even though I wanted to run away the moment I walked in. I should have listened to my instincts, but we stayed and ate our meals.

Bug infesting, while sitting at my small inside table I counted five separate bugs that crawled across my table. I notified the waitress and she said they were having an issue with the empty unit next door.

I ordered the French toast & oatmeal. French toast was very yummy, oatmeal was good but nothing special. My friend ordered the shrimp and grits. She mentioned she has had better but to me that item you need to order in a seafood restaurant. The bathroom really needs a good scrubbing plus dead bugs on the floor of the bathroom. Decor was dusty, fake poinsettias & it’s May. Our server was super nice. Owner of this establishment needs to have deep cleaning done and update decor. There was also a very sad dead plant that I had to water before I left just in case it could come back to life.

It's a very local eating place. The food was good and very inexpensive. I had a full breakfast with iced tea for $7.99! Can't beat that!

Smells bad, kinda like an old musty mop. Or ancient dust on grease. The air is hazy, without being filled with smoke. Everything is kinda yellow. After eating here, I can literally eat anywhere, unphased. It's the most unpretentious, shameless greasy spoon diner I've ever been in. Food is pretty cheap, not awful but not really good. Get the breakfast special. Grits, biscuits and gravy both went right in the microwave when I ordered them. I feel like it needs to be cleaned like the River Spirit gets cleaned in "Spirited Away". 3 stars because it's still serving food, and nobody seems to mind. Least of all the staff. This place is recession proof, it would probably survive nuclear fallout. I admire restaurants like this, because hardly anything in America is this busted and grimy anymore, it's a whole vibe! Don't miss it!
