I went to this place around a year ago and loved it. We’ve tried to come back a few times since then and the door is always locked, even when their hours online say open. I wish I could rate this higher but I just want to be able to come!

Not packed at all. Only one couple here while our group of 5 where here. Great tasting beer and peaceful environment.Parking: A lot of parking available at the back of the building which is next to the bar.

Great beer-only bar. And when they say beer only they mean it. Not even food is served. But the nice atmosphere and good conversation I had with the owner Jimmy made up for it. The entire place was well put together and super clean. Including the restrooms. Would definitely stop here again the next time I’m in Gainesville.Vegetarian options: Beer is vegan ??♂️

I don't write a lot of reviews, but I'm doing one for Hop Top because it's such a great place. My wife and I wanted to have a beer on a hot Saturday, and we found this oasis. Not pretentious, very welcoming, great vibe, friendly bartender (Jimmy,I think he's the owner), and lots of beer on tap. We will definitely be back when visiting our daughter at UF. Thanks Jimmy!

The epitome of a local dive bar. This is a casual beer-only bar with free pool and darts available. They usually have a variety of 15 or so draft beers with many more cans and bottles available.
