Shot out to M&D West African Cuisine for some of the best okra soup I’ve had thus far! Packed with flavor and well seasoned. The staff was friendly, warm and welcoming. You can tell their food was made with love. I’m definitely coming back❤️

The woman working upfront was so incredibly nice! This was my first time ever getting African food and they let us try samples of the soups before purchasing. The food was really good and priced well. Definitely try it out!

Just went there for the first time and had the curry chicken meal. It was so flavorful and the portions were generous, exactly what I needed on this rainy day.

Delicious!!! If you want to try real African food in Gainesville, come here.I can’t say enough good things about the food and the service. The owner is Nigerian and personable and kind AND his recipes are the best African food in town. All the soups taste amazing and the fufu paired with it is really good. The saying that the food truck food is better than the restaurant food is very accurate *coughs* I will leave it there. ?If you have a taste for or just want to try African food, you can’t go wrong with M&D.

My buddy said he ate good African food from this truck so I had to try it out... bottom line, it was definitely good. Spoke to the guy prior to ordering and he seemed pretty cool. I got the spicy stewed chicken with rice, cabbage, and plantains. I prefer my plantains to be a bit crisper on the outside but it was good and ripe. That chicken was delicious. The Chicken was juicy and seasoned, as well as the jollof rice. I kind of wanted to leave the house and get another plate. I don't usually like spicy food but since he recommended it, I got it. It actually wasn't spicy to me. $15 plate seemed like a very fair price for the amount of food and flavor I received and I'm a pretty big guy.

Driving a long distance based on glowing reviews, I found myself at this West African Food Truck, and it was worth every mile. I was warmly welcomed from the moment I arrived, creating an atmosphere of genuine hospitality.I shared that it would be my first time having African cuisine. To my surprise and delight, I was offered a taste of their available soup.I opted for sampling a traditional West African Peanut Soup, and I was immediately captivated by its velvety texture and aromatic fragrance. The soup was packed with layers of flavors, blending the nutty richness of peanuts and a subtle heat of spices which left me craving more.I also had a sample of the okra soup which was equally good, I loved both.He also educated me on the ingredients used for fufu which is traditionally paired with each soup. I really appreciated this.I ended up ordering Jollof rice with stewed beef and cabbage along with Peanut soup /chicken and fufu. Their commitment to quality was evident in each bite. Fresh ingredients were used, and the food is prepared with care and expertise.Prices were reasonable, considering the generous portions and authentic flavors they offer. If you're searching for a satisfying experience, I highly recommend embarking on this flavorful journey at this hidden gem in Gainesville, Fl.Overall, my experience was nothing short of exceptional. I can’t wait to return and explore more tantalizing flavors of West African cuisine.
