Sohao is the best restaurant in Gainesville! The staff are very welcoming and accommodating and the food is on another level. My favorite dishes are any of the baos and any of the bentos. They’re is plenty of variety in the menu and the food is super high quality. The ambience is really great too with nice music and lots of murals and statues along the wall. I enjoy also picking up food for to go and the service is great! Highly recommend, it’s a must try for anyone in Gainesville!

Sohao imbibes upon all that come in with a comfortable, sincere, and authentic atmosphere, from adorations of Chinese gods to its very name being that of a Chinese-English pun (Sohao=So好=So good). It provides a thorough experience of authentic Chinese food from the Sichuan province, and is so very accomodating to all its customers. It provides a sense of family, from its amicable servers to the parties the owner throws for its own customers and its beloved workers. It truly is one of the best and well-rounded restaurants in Gainesville, the East Coast, and even the United States of America!

My favorite restaurant in town for delicious Chinese food, no matter what we order. Great dishes include the steamed fish with tofu, garlic fish filet, mapo tofu, garlic pork ribs, pork knuckles, and many more. I have never been disappointed trying new dishes. The portion sizes are quite reasonable for the price (1-2 people per dish).

The service here was impeccable and the atmosphere was quiet and welcoming. The dishes we ordered had a ton of flavor, although I was missing the spice from my Sichuan Beef. Even though it wasn't spicy at all (numbing or otherwise), it still tasted great. I definitely recommend the chili wontons! Also, the salad that comes with the bento box has cilantro in it. I love cilantro so it was perfect for me, but if you're not a cilantro lover maybe skip the salad.Parking: They share a parking lot with several other businesses

I enjoyed the sesame chicken. It wasn't my favorite, but it's refreshing that the sauce is made in house. The music and decor are both very nice as well. I highly recommend checking them out.

Excellent quality Chinese food. Enjoyed lunch special(s). Lunch came with complimentary hot-sour soup. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Clean. Will return soon. A good friend of mine frequents this establishment often. He highly recommends. He's not wrong. ☺️

This is one of those places where they got a variety of dishes that you’d wanna come back and keep trying something new each time. The food was packed with flavor and sauce and good meat. Tried the sichuan dan dan noodles with minced pork and the spicy cumin lamb bao. Their baos are always epic!Could not find the pan fried baos in the menu. Idk if that was discontinued or not.The noodles probably had onions and green onions for veggies. I got takeout, came home and added some frozen stir veggies to the noodles and it was still great!Good food overall

The Chinese cuisine are fantastic and the service is also excellent in terms of friendliness but there is lack of manpower. It is usually busy and you need to wait longer for getting your food served. Options available for vegetarian and you can get authentic taste. I feel like eating in China! Almost best Chinese restaurant in the town!Vegetarian options: AvailableDietary restrictions: Vegetarian, Non-vegetarian and Sea-food optionsParking: Enough until you come around Chinese festivalsKid-friendliness: YesWheelchair accessibility: Accessible

Generous portions, sturdy takeout boxes, though a tad on the salty and oily side.Beef Brisket was decent, with a slight tanginess?Dry Pot Spare Ribs: wish they could have more veggiesChicken over Rice: didn't quite resemble traditional one, but still tasty with plenty of mushrooms. Their rice bowl portions are huge and packed with veggies!White cut chicken: it comes with succulent chicken skin and a savory ginger-scallion sauce, albeit a bit salty. Overall, a hearty spot for a satisfying meal!
