The service we received was great and the restaurant is clean, but our food was not so great. I ordered their signature “fall off the bone” ribs and they were tough and ICE cold, like they had been kept in the refrigerator. The carrot cake was brown mush, not very appetizing.

DO NOT EAT HERE. I found a bug in my cornbread, then let them know, but got sick the night of and days after and my salmonella test came back positive. See photos. The wait staff is extremely slow, took 17 minutes to get drinks and it wasn’t busy at all. The restaurant itself is very dirty. The one in Jonesville is better but the Archer location.? never. Again.

The atmosphere was great, the service was wonderful, and the food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the brisket with the rib combo, it was just enough, it had 3 ribs, and 2 slices of brisket. I tried the baked beans and coleslaw for my sides. My husband ordered the ribs with cheesy grits, and plantains for his side. It all was really delicious. Those plaintains were cooked just right. We will most definitely be back. Kudos the cook!

We heard that this restaurant served smoked sausage and couldn't wait to try it. My husband and I both got the smoked sausage entree. (His, the regular smoked sausage and mine jalapeno cheddar), and they were both fabulous! I loved the char on them.The sides were delicious as well. The green beans, Mac and cheese and collard greens were all very tasty!Now, their sauces were off the chain and made in house (I asked). My favorite was the Carolina vinegar based sauce and hubs had the sweet mustard based sauce. I could have drank that sauce, lol!Service was great, prices are extremely reasonable. We had 1 big link, two sides and bread for $12 each.We will definitely be back!Delicious!!

Food was excellent, plentiful and hot. Seated right away and server was on it. We ordered the family meal for 3 of us and took food home. Paid $63.00 which in this town is a great deal for bbq. Try the plaintains.

Typical overpriced Gainesville BBQ. Do yourself a favor and grill out in your own backyard, it'll be better, I promise. $7 for the sadest looking jalapeño poppers I've ever seen. The fries( yes, I know, they're just fries) were soggy and subpar. I also paid for extra meat which didn't seem to be there, the sandwich was already $15. Went to pick it up and nobody was there, so they couldn't blame the restaurant being busy for lackluster food. If I could've given this experience 0 stars I would've. Last time I waste my money there.

I got a to go order, I knew I was taking a bit of a gamble because I was going to be driving a ways (and would not have been upset if anything got compromised during transit) , but everything was thoughtfully and carefully packed for optimal security and freshness. The food was also excellent, great gravy, great mac and cheese!

If you like ribs, you won't find better than at Top Hog. Just had an excellent meal with amazing wait staff taking good care of us. Wish they'd open up one in the east side of town.
