It would be a five but,, marked it on the edge in hope you would read the review, this place is a bit of barbecue history, it's in connection with other great BBQ joints, first, I had the pulled pork, first bite I thought of N.C style, which is my favorite style, short of a not having that tang of vinegar, it was awesome, the bbq beans are spot on, and collards are the absolute best next to my mom's, (sorry mom) . It's true small town dining, from our hostess , who was having a bad day, kept smiling and present,
Great Old town feel, a very welcoming staff, and the food was excellent. Will stop by again next year on our way back to Fl

Good service and very good customer service. Food is very good and I would recommend it to everyone.
Great pit stop along the road. The pulled pork has a lot of flavor and wasn't fatty! They have multiple flavors of BBQ. Sides were all great. Cornbread was a little dry but had decent flavor. Garlic bread could use more garlic. Good but tasted like buttered toast. Our waitress was very attentive. We'll definitely stop back in to try their breakfast during our next pass through town!

St Louis ribs were tough as boot leather. Sliced beef and pork served cold. No sweet sauce left. Dirty tables and windows covered with hand prints. Not happy at all!!

Good food (bbq), good service and country atmosphere...I eat here often!Kid-friendliness: Great place to feed children.
Great place for barbecue! Cute little hometown restaurant. We stopped on our road trip through Hawthorne. Apparently Dianne is the daughter of the original Sonny's restaurant and wanted to serve breakfast so didn't turn this location into one of chains locations. The service was fast and friendly! We all got a little something different and all enjoyed everything.

This place is always a great experience. Very welcoming and the food is HOT.The wife and I always try and stop by on any of our road trips and time our trip to get us in here around lunch time.My favorite is the pulled pork on a garlic bread sandwich! Top it with some sweet BBQ sauce and you're in heaven. The seating can be a little cramped if you're with a large crew, but it's perfect if you come with <4.Prices are decent, for what you get, and you can expect to spend $12-15 per person... but don't expect to leave hungry! They have pretty good portions. This place is dog friendly in the back, but don't walk dogs near the water!! ??️?
