One of my MOST favorite spots on the beach! Great food, drinks and service. So sad that on my most recent visit they were closed ? Is this temporary? Did you all relocate?

I was with a group who ate there for brunch on a Saturday and had a great server and service food was good. For dinner that day we went back and our server was super nice but the kitchen was slow and some items just never came out leaving everyone waiting for one person to get their food after everyone had finished.Literally waited for over an hour for fried chicken wings.Went back the next morning for breakfast server was nice and terrible.Server was easily scattered confused..Over 2 hours sitting there coffee came late refilled late plates went to the wrong people it was as if the kitchen was using a slot machine to randomly assemble breakfast.Sadly the same person who waited almost 2 hours to get chicken wings the night before was left waiting for an hour to get eggs toast and sausage. Everyone else had eaten and finished and she had to reorder because they just didn't know where it was.Of course the plate they brought was someone else's order .. the eggs were wrong the sausage was bacon the bread was wrong and had to wait another 10 minutes for the right plate to be brought out.Their prices are reasonable they have a good menu .. but... I can't recommend it two out of three meals were chaotic at best and one had downright horrible service.Breakfast special at $5.99 on Hollywood Beach is reasonable. But the terrible service does not make sense. Server blames the system or the kitchen for the mistakes. That did not explain why drinks went undelivered and food was given to the wrong people. There's just no excuse to keep somebody waiting long after everyone else has finished eating to get their meal. Refills on water and coffee should not be a challenged to a server. The breakfast was okay but not good.I had ordered fish tacos the night before. Well they tasted good the plating was poor. Three small tacos on a plate with no sides it looked like a side dish on a big plate. All they had to do is add a little garnish to the plate maybe a little stack of nacho chips maybe a little lettuce or color on the plate.

Can't really give an opinion on the food or drinks because our server never came over to offer us anything. The greeter at the front informed us that we could sit anywhere so we found a table and sat. And sat. And sat a little longer while guests were actually being served who came in after me, my wife and my kid. Not the best experience because we really came hungry. We ended up at Grumpy Gary's.

Alvin’s on the beach is a very relaxing atmosphere, the staff is very friendly and helpful. I have eaten a few dishes at this restaurant and they do not seem to disappoint, they play very modern upbeat music. The ambiance of the restaurant is for a more modern crowd, it’s a nice place to enjoy time with your family or even just to hang out at the beach. It is a 10 out of 10 and I would highly recommend going there.

Chicken and waffles are one of my favorite breakfasts and my go-go place, for the last several months, has been Alvin’s on the broadwalk in Hollywood. The plate would hold one huge round waffle cut into four pieces, filled with syrup and topped with three pieces of lightly browned and seasoned chicken. It was warm and tasty, beyond delicious so, when a friend suggested we go out for breakfast on the broadwalk I immediately mentioned Alvin’s. “You will love the chicken and waffles,” I told her as we ordered. Oh Calamity! When the waiter delivered our orders the plate held only two square waffles, identical to the ones you can buy in a box at the dollar store (did they really use waffles out of a box?) and three pieces of slightly burned chicken and, to add insult to injury, everything was cold. When we gently complained to the waiter, he said that the chef who was using a different recipe, He apologized offered to bring us another, fresh plate. He did so but, truth to tell, the second serving wasn’t much better. We didn’t say anything, why bother? but the meal was definitely not worth over forty dollars. (this included tax and gratuity) The waiter was very attentive and helpful but really, being served by someone in torn jeans and a worn tee shirt just doesn’t seem appropriate. Can’t Alvin’s afford uniforms or at least, tee shirts with the name of the restaurant? On the plus side, the coffee was excellent and the ambiance with the patio seating and view of the ocean can’t be beat. but I don’t think I’ll be going back to Alvin’s anytime soon

Ordered Tostones and Sushi to go. The wait time was too long for a to-go order(they weren't terribly busy for mid afternoon) but the food was delicious!! High quality sushi and flavor of the tostones was on point!

I am giving Alvin's five stars, because I love it so much there. Manage your expectations, of course, it's a beach restaurant, not a typical five-star restaurant. But our experience has always been five star. Here's why: I first noticed Alvin's when I was exercising on the broadwalk. I noticed this counter with stools behind it where are you face the ocean. Check out my picture below-that's our view every time. I don't think any other place on Hollywood Beach has this. Elsewhere, you sit at a bar and face the bar but not face the ocean. You can certainly sit at tables in front of restaurants elsewhere and have a view, but then you're sitting below the flow of people walking along the Broadwalk, which messes with the view. But At Alvins, you can choose to sit on high top stools on an elevated platform with your drinks and food on the granite counter in front of you, and have an unobstructed view of the beach the whole time. I always choose that spot. They also have tables under an overhang, and they are fine, with a view of the ocean. And they have an inside bar area. But for me and my peeps, our seating arrangement and view is five star and better than any other place on Hollywood beach. I almost want to keep it a secret because I love it so much... But I also want the place to do well because I love it so much. Hence my review. The drinks: we only have Mojitos there. They are the best Mojitos I've had anywhere in South Florida. They use some special lime rum (one time when they ran out, the Mojitos weren't nearly as good) And of course fresh lime and the perfect amount of sweetness. Strong but not crazy strong. They are divine and worth a trip over there even just for drinks while you enjoy that view. We only had one sit down dinner at the tables and most of it was good. One item had chicken somewhat overcooked but still tasty. But Usually as I said we go to that high top counter area and have appetizers. All of them have been delicious. We stick to empanadas, which are fabulous. They come with a delicious dipping sauce. Also, Chicken sliders are soooo good! They come with three, along with steak fries. Very crunchy and crispy on soft bread, steak fries tasty but not too salty... Great little dish. Picture below are the roasted brussels sprouts as well. That's an ugly picture but I promise you, they are delicious. They come with bacon but of course you can get it without. Great little sauce on the top, I haven't had it with the sauce before but it was delicious. Last time I got the filet mignon soft tacos. They were extraordinary! Give this place a chance. It is south of the Hollywood resort So it's not in the center of things. I prefer it that way because some of those places get really jampacked. Alvins you see people walking by but nobody stops and congregates in a big crowd in front of you the way they do down by the bandshell. And it's got no loud music coming from neighboring places that make it hard to have a conversation. It's awesome. The service - everybody is nice and friendly. Alvin is frequently there, along with family members. Super nice guy. Some days the place is busier than others and things are a little slower. But last night they were packed and our service was perfect. We usually go inside and order our drinks at the bar rather than wait for someone to come out, which is fine by us. I'm telling you, give this place a chance. I have lived in East Hollywood for 20 years and have seen lots of restaurants come and go, often mediocre places. This place is special.

Delicious food and great service! During my time in the area, we did not receive good service anywhere, but our server was very nice and attentive. 4/5 because the restaurant doesn’t seem to be able to keep up with the supply/demand. They were out a couple of things from the appetizer menu before we decided to not get an appetizer at all. Overall great food and service!

Nice venue right on the boardwalk with a wonderful beach view. The portions were small and overpriced, as expected for the area. Ordered the spicy tuna tacos and was quite underwhelmed, as the tuna was ground up (weird texture) and thrown together in a soft flour taco that didn't go with the flavors (or lack of). The service however was good and the establishment very clean.

Thought it was okay. Wasn't busy when we were there but waiting times took a while. Staff was friendly though. Nothing really bad about this place but nothing really amazing either. If you are going out with people who have a lot of different tastes though they have different cuisines.

This place is great! We went for breakfast and got the beach breakfast and the steak and eggs. There were able to adjust the beach breakfast to a vegetarian option. I don’t think the steak was filet mignon but still it was good. Both of the servers were amazing. Excellent team work and great service. 5 starts for you guys!!

AWESOME AWESEOME!! The staff was so friendly and personable! They even kept the kitchen open for us! (We thought they closed at 12pm and they do but the kitchen closes around 10) not only did they keep it open but they did so with a bright attitude and AMAZING food. My bf had the smoked salmon over rice and I had the pesto pasta! Both of them were out of this world! The manger or owner also came out to make sure we had been helped as we had sat outside. It’s also a nice change of pace, a little quieter and more intimate, instead of bumping music and drunk folks stumbling around. 11/10!!!
