It was selected as the best restaurant in the downtown Hollywood area for a reason. I can tell you that excellent is NOT enough! Because the city is building a new development there they have had to move , but hopefully they will find a place soon! Their concept is different! Food out of the world

Best lasagna I've ever had anywhere. Velvety smooth cheesy and packed with flavor. TBH, haven't had anything that was less than great. Going to miss you guys while you relocate. Best of luck!

Best Tortellini Bolognese I have ever had. Quaint mom and pop, electic eating in someone else's home feel to it. The interior is 1960 junk shop chic, and the food is outstanding. A unique dining and unconventional dining experience.

This place is seriously a SECRET. It's never packed, which always surprises me because it's so eclectic and decorated with nothing but personal touches. Their coffees are delicious. My friend had the chocolate amaretto orange cake, simply one of the most original combination of flavors ever, and I had lentil soup, truly tasty.

Sasa IS art! The food’s incredible, made from scratch daily. The vibe is quaint and romantic. The service was awesome - it’s a family business and it shows. And don’t even get me started on desserts - mouthwatering! We had a lovely date night there on a Friday in April. Had cute table in one of the house rooms all to ourselves. And just the right amount of attention from the team.We had the lobster ravioli and the veggie risotto. Both were ridiculously delicious and light. The tiramisu was the bomb! Not often do I leave an Italian restaurant feeling light. But this food was made with love and care and didn’t feel heavy. It’s now our new favorite date night place in Hollywood. Make sure to make a reservation!

The potential of this restaurant to be a 10 stars experience is HUGEGOOD-1. Restaurant is BEAUTIFUL and very unique. Perfect for intimate celebration (32 Bday for my man with 9 of our friends)2. Delicious food. Special flavors. Feels like my boyfriend Italian Grandpa cooked for us.3. Food was made fast and came in perfect timing (Brusketas to ease our starving stomachs, then salads and the main courses that we shared came all together)NEEDS TO IMPROVE AND EASY TO IMPROVE-1. Lacking some of the CORE elements in the Italian kitchenNo bread served, no Balsamic & olive oil (even when we asked for it)No Fresh Basil! Which is my FAVORITE ?Caprese salad was not a traditional Caprese. There were way more GREENS than any of the traditional ingredients and way too similar to the other salad that we ordered.2. NO MUSIC ? Music is HUGE at setting the tone and contributing to the experience.3. All 4 desserts were NOT TASTY and of us 10 agreed upon that. Why making such great good with such poor desserts in an ITALIAN restaurant were desserts should be INCREDIBLE?!!There was NO pistachios in any of the desserts either. One of the best ingredients in the Italian kitchen.4. Server was polite but we all agreed he seemed to be going through something. Leave your troubles at home and come with a smile! We are here to have a good time and the Server can contribute to the experience big time.

The wine was very nice, salad was delicious. I had the mushroom ravioli with white sauce and my husband had spinach ravioli although the flavors were good the pasta was chewy. Not silky as homemade pasta should be.

This place is great! Ordered takeout, Gnocchi with pesto sauce and the short rib ravioli. I would upload photos, but in this case phone did not eat first. The pasta was very good!! Can't wait to go back and try more of their dishes.

Cute small quaint restaurant. Great food, good menu, owner on site and involved with diners. Would definitely recommend it.,don't let the initial appearance which is a small house converted to restaurant deter you.

Sasa is set up in the main floor rooms of what looks like someone's house, with mismatched tables and comfy dining chairs instead of sofas. Walls have an eclectic variety of decorations. We did make a reservation because it appeared online to be a small place, but on a Friday night there were hardly any other customers. Probably because it is a couple blocks off Hollywood Blvd so nobody knows its there. The menu selections are traditional Italian. We shared a platter of cured meats, cheeses, and olives for an appetizer. I had the veal osso bucco agnolotti and the primavera salad, my wife had the short ribs ravioli, and our son had the beef tortellini. We also had a bottle of Italian red wine though I do not remember what it was, and we shared a tiramisu. Everything was excellent. The kitchen knows what they're doing. Service was leisurely but you don't rush through a meal like this. And it is not inexpensive, but it reflects the quality. Expect to spend $60-$70 per person all in with meal, drinks, tax, and tip.

It's different but most importantly all the Pastas are excellent. Pick your pasta and then pick your sauce.

On my constant hunt for cool date night spots, I happened upon Sasa Cafe on Yelp but when I looked through pics I instantly knew where this place was...smack in the middle of downtown Hollywood on its very own corner. I do recommend giving this place a try as it is super unique and a hidden gem! Pros -Great location! You can walk around before and/or after dinner...the cafe is right off of Harrison...we went on a Saturday Art Night, which I believe is once a month and after dinner we walked around a bit to help digest lol -The food is fantastic...like you will savor each and every morsel, and take your time doing it...chef's kiss -The service is fantastic, very family oriented as it is a family owned biz Cons -Parking is limited...make sure you don't park in a residential zone, once you find a spot, you can always enjoy the leisurely stroll if it isn't right next to the cafe -The cafe is small, very small...My husband and I were seated at a small 2-person table by a window, and we had to pass a table of 4 already seated and enjoying conversation...They seemed to be right at home enjoying conversation, which I think is wonderful, but we were sooo close to them...at one point, the conversation took a political turn and they asked us if we were American and to feel free to join in the conversation...while I appreciated the enthusiasm to intertwine our dining experiences, date night with my husband is just that and we tend to prefer somewhere where we can have more of a private conversation...It would have been impossible there...I could also tell these people were frequent visitors, which is wonderful -Only beer and wine...I like something with a little more of a variety when it comes to alcoholic beverages...I'll take a Moscow Mule any day. I honestly don't think we will visit again for date night, just because it isn't what we look for in an experience, BUT I think Sasa Cafe is a great hidden gem for anyone wanting to try something different with delicious food.
