We had been to this café several times since we live nearby. The food was always enjoyable and since it’s never crowded, it’s easy to get in and out. This morning we came in for breakfast. The restaurant’s tables as well as breakfast bar area were half empty. When we sat down at the countertop, the gentleman behind the counter said “it’s not an open bar”. We weren’t sure what he meant as the countertop area was half empty. When I questioned him what he meant, he said you have to wait on line. My husband said “I’m sorry, was there someone waiting?” He said no. We looked around, and no line. He then said “since you’re seated, I’ll go ahead and let you stay” and placed down the menus. My husband and I looked at each other and could not understand the rude behavior of the gentleman on the other side of the countertop. We stood up, headed straight for the door, and when we walked past two employees my husband said “you have a rude person behind the counter”. If this gentlemen works for tips, he is in the wrong industry. With so much competition like the Donut Hole or Big Bad Breakfast to name a few, and knowing the restaurant is already half empty, the owner may want to get rid of this employee. Unfortunately, as locals, you lost our business today.

Neat breakfast spot. Had the Beaumont and hard to believe you could put too much bacon and ham, but they did. Overpowered all of the other flavors. Great staff.

So once I found this place last year, I immediately loved it. My last visit there, it took a step back. It’s still a good place to go but it’s not as good as it used to be. The service wasn’t as friendly as it used to be. It took awhile before our waitress even came over to take our order. Another table was even helped before us even though we were there first.The menu changed as well. This place is know for its big and unique pancakes, or maybe should I say was. They still have some good unique pancakes, but they reduced a big part of what they used to offer. They no longer serve any peanut butter product here, and one of my favorite pancakes had peanut butter on it. Most of the food was good that we ordered except for the side scrambled eggs I ordered. The best way to describe them is as grainy. The Cinnamon Roll French Toast was great though.I usually drive about 50 mins to come out here for the food, and I probably still will, but not as often.

You should go for the food but come back because of the people. I had the Chicken and Hot Honey Waffles. Everything was cooked to perfection and their hot honey is perfect for th3 selection. The staff was all amazing but Cynthia stood out. She was helpful with the menu selection and a wealth of information with a big smile the while time. My favorite breakfast place was close for work this morning but that allowed me to try Canopy Road and may be my new favorite breakfast place in the area!!!Parking: Lots of parking in a great locationKid-friendliness: Great kids menu
